    Hi there,

given that there's a sale going on I'd like to give a hearty recommendation to everyone who's still on the fence regarding the Mildmay Line - as I was until yesterday. Goblin was nice but did little to change my notion that you can't really simulate a busy inner-city route in TSW (yet?). Mildmay seemed Goblin-like, quite short, and with a train I wasn't that interested in. But with the price down to 20 € now on Steam, I took the plunge.

If you have the layers, it is on another level. There is so much detail in everything, and it feels like a lot of care and dedication went into it. The fact that one guy made it makes this even more impressive. There is constant movement on the line itself and all the other lines it touches or crosses, with everything from (surprisingly many) 66-hauled freight trains to Pendolinos on the WCML, also many apparently handcrafted or at least tweaked buildings and lots of little things to see while exploring on foot.

One big negative though: I've had two crashes so far, something I've never had before in TSW - both while walking along the tracks. And a niggle: If you look closely you'll see a lot of imperfections like objects clipping into each other or slightly floating bits of track/ballast if looking from the side, but that's there just because everything is so dense and nothing you'd notice while driving.

I love making screenshots on this, here are two of them. Can't wait for the coming extension.

I'm definitely getting as soon as the Richmond extension comes out. It looks great and I enjoy self contained routes.

This is a route I've rarely played recently but only because I'm waiting for Richmond section to be released.

The actual route as it is at the moment is incredible, full of life, a variety of services and so many various AI traffic. I've spent time at Stratford on the game and it's never quiet, just how it is in real life.

When the Richmond section is released, I've no doubt this will become my most played route in the south east.

    Definitely worth the money.

The Goblin has always been a sleepier line than the North London Line (Mildmay in "new money").

Not only in terms of service regularity, freight and passenger numbers but also because it serves the leafier Victorian suburbs of the capital. The Mildmay fringes inner-London until you get beyond Gospel Oak. I think the different atmospheres of the two routes seems about right with the exception of the ghostly empty expanse of platforms at Barking.

I'm waiting for the Playstation Spring sale to start next week, then I'll pick this up if it's in the sale.

I could buy it on Steam, but I like to play TSW on a big TV.

Will be interesting to see if someone is brave enough to create the weekend Suffragette, Mildmay and Lioness line scenario. Barking Riverside to Watford Junction via Hampstead Heath, Willesden Junction Low Level and Wembley Central.....

I had no idea that had ever happened. It'd be quite a long, dull all stations drive. When did that happen? Was it due to an event or engineering?

It's been happening on a test basis most weekends with 710's.

I think I've seen them going from Stratford to WJLL via Primrose Hill and I've also seen Barking Riverside to Watford via WJLL. I think it's to keep both sides of the route open during engineering works.

Ah, I see. Yes sounds like it might be useful for stock and crew movements too.

Dont bother plays like a dog performance is bad. I brought it played it once and was disappointed. But then most routes play like that on ps5

It's worth it on PS5. Just don't turn on all the AI layers you hardly see, prevents blurring.

Yeah it’s a really fab little route that I find myself coming back to occasionally.
When the Richmond extension drops I most likely be playing it even more.
The blurry textures are kind of annoying on console, but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying the route. I hope Johannes fixes that.

I really like what he's done with Stratford. The amount of times I've stood on that platform waiting to for my train home, even though it's TS72 on the Central and 710s covering for Elizabeth Line and GA trains it feels and sounds like it should.

It just needs endless announcements about delays and last minute platform changes added.

This would certainly add a lot of realism :)

This is one of there better ventures when they correct the blurring Textures & put the finally part of the route in (the Richmond extension) it should look quite the screen shots they showed in last Road-Map (6th April 2026) looked rather good

I asked a question about this yesterday and got the following answer:
Q: For Mildmay, is texture optimisation part of the work?
"Generally, we're trying to ensure all of our processes now include checks for textures and optimisation more closely, however it's not quite clear yet the final scope of the work whilst Johannes from Incredible trains complete the work."

Bit disappointing to be honest. I still very much appreciate this DLC and the work that has gone into it (and especially the free extension), but I would at least expect optimisation around known problem areas.

I am looking forward to purchasing this when the extension is released, it does look like a very well modelled route and I do enjoy self contained routes like this.

I'm looking forward to the extension but I gather from the Roadmap video that it's going to be a while before it's out. It's worth getting as it is. If you start from Willesden Junction and do a round trip to Stratford it almost passes as a realistic shift.

It's really well modeled. It's an area of London I know very well, I usually use the line for trips to Camden for gigs, Hampstead Heath for summer walks and Highbury & Islington for Arsenal matches and it's difficult to find fault with it.

Its been in the 0–3 month section since the March Roadmap, so hopefully it won’t be too long now.

Moving onto bug fixes sounds like that the modelling and most of the hard work is complete.
