Modern German traction is arriving to Train Sim World 6 in the form of the DB BR 147 locomotive from the Dovetail Games team, with a timetable twist for Frankenbahn: Stuttgart-Heilbronn! Train Sim World 6: DB BR 147 is releasing on April 9th 2026 for Epic Games Store, Steam, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for £14.99/€17.99/$17.99. The DB BR 147 Locomotive Following in the footsteps of earlier locomotive series such as the BR 145 and 146, the BR 147 represents the most recent iteration of TRAXX locos which have been in service across Europe since the late 1990s. Featuring a revised cab design to their elder counterparts, and a more rugged-looking body, the BR 147 offers the latest innovations, with modernised controls, functionality and traction packages, all while offering the same tried and tested versatility. The DB BR 147s are locomotives built for passenger use, capable of 160 km/h and useful on DB Regio services in big cities, replacing older traction on busy lines. The DB BR 147s offers you the chance to time travel and experience Frankenbahn: Stuttgart - Heilbronn with an all-new 2018-era timetable, in which the BR 147 is utilised on various regional services. Much like the DB BR 111 in the 2000s timetable, the 147 operates in push-pull configuration with either n-Wagens or Dostos, pulling trains to Stuttgart and pushing them to Heilbronn... but not always! Look out for some unique formations in the mix. Go up against the odds and take on unique operations with a trio of scenarios too; weather woes and convoluted convoys await! In Train Sim World, the BR 147 has been recreated with accuracy, with a completed reference trip to capture the main sounds of the loco, such as traction motors, horns, brakes, bogies, HVAC and pantograph, taken straight from the 147 itself to make it sound as realistic as possible. Attention has also been put onto the in-cab screens which, being a modern loco, display a lot of information and hide controls which would otherwise be buttons, switches and dials in older models. The modern controls offer a completely different way to experience the route, although the Wittenberger cab car still provides a nice contrast. Specific features of the DB BR 147 in-game include: A brand new model, unrelated to the BR 187 already in-game Train Faults including Pantograph Failure, Wiper Blade stuck and Door Faults on the passenger coaches Audible Passenger Announcements In-depth screen navigation, including displaying your stopping pattern Ergonomic controls - e.g. the AFB toggle is on the AFB Lever itself rather than a separate switch The Timetable Let's take a closer look at the new 2018 timetable, and the layers included that you can make the most of! Starting with the recent release of the Expert DB BR 145, there are some services where this will substitute for the BR 147, reflecting the operational reality of the period where these locomotives often filled gaps as the 147s were being phased into service. As an important note: the NV variant (with destination display) is not used here, because it did not run on the line during this period, keeping the timetable representative. Utilising the new Stuttgart S-Bahn DB BR 423, which will be added into the route alongside the DB BR 147's release, a full suite of S4, S5 and S6 services are playable, nearly making up half of the timetable service count by itself! This new BR 423 also replaces the Frankfurt S-Bahn layer on the 2000s timetable, meaning it is no longer a requirement to access that gameplay, and it is included by default. The BR 110 from Bremen - Oldenburg also adds variety, alongside the 'Karlsruher Kopf' KaKo cab car. These services will be running to and from Bad Wildbad, in shorter, more localised runs that provide a distinct change of pace from the mainline. For the thrill seekers, the ICE 3M from Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn layers in, and features two full-length runs across the line as well as appears near Stuttgart throughout the day. Similarly, the non-expert DB BR 101 makes an appearance with two full-length runs of its own, providing long-distance expresses, as well as shunting movements into Stuttgart with the BR 363. Freight action doesn't stop despite the time travel, although it's almost exclusively handled by diesel traction. Shuttle cargo across the route in the BR 363, with the DB BR 294 substituting in if you own it. A most unique set of services await owners of Rhein-Ruhr Osten, where you get to drive a contrasting combo of DB BR 140 and MRCE BR 185 traction, including a service where one drives right into Stuttgart Hbf itself! Finally, the BR 425 adds some services between Stuttgart and Bietigheim-Bissingen, and an AI-only BR 425 makes an appearance on the infrequent RB11 at Kornwestheim, only at peak-time. The DB BR 628 from Niddertalbahn also appears as AI at Heilbronn, and there will also be additional AI-only services adding traffic around Stuttgart, including: ICE 1 from Kassel - Würzburg ICE-T from Frankfurt - Fulda ÖBB 1116 from Semmeringbahn FlixTrain BR 193 DB BR 442 from Köln - Aachen Remastered Train Sim World 6: DB BR 147 is releasing on April 9th 2026 for Epic Games Store and Steam, and coming soon on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for £14.99/€17.99/$17.99. The article/forum post say it's releasing on the 31st March but that's the older date. Think that needs updating to 9th April Is it out now on Steam or is it a usual release time (later this evening)?

Congratulations, DTG. The BR 147 locomotive is truly well made. And the active suspension is there. I think this will become one of my all-time favorite locomotives. Excellent work.
