I noticed Today that the Original DB BR 101 no longer needs Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr installed to function.

Does anyone know when this changed, and if other TSW2 era DLCs have also been decoupled?

Did DTG advertise this anywhere? I only noticed it today because I forgot to uninstall the BR 101 after HRR.

It has been done for the Expert BR101, so most likely around the release of the Expert BR101 it's uncoupled from HRR.

This is exactly right that around the same time the expert 101 was released, the normal 101 was uncoupled from HRR. What's strange is that for a long time afterwards DTG insisted that you still needed HRR to activate the normal 101 layers, even though it was obvious that this was no longer the case. I am not aware that they have ever made an official announcement to the contrary.

I'm also wondering, why they do not uncouple more train DLC's from routes, so you can buy them without buying a route and also if you have the route but don't play it, you still can use the train without installing the route.

I suspect that the few DLCs that DTG has detached from its Home Route haven't boosted Sales, and therefore it's not worth it.

Possibly, but weren't newer train DLC's since TSW3 not uncoupled from the route anyway or only a few?

At least everything prior to TSW3, except the BR101.
