Last night I thought I'd have a run in a Voyager between Birmingham and Stafford on the modern timetable (not the original 2019 one). I was surprised to find that between Wolverhampton and Stafford I was limited to 110mph. It was definitely 125mph for Voyagers in the 2019 timetable, but this was the first time I'd had a run on one in the new timetable. Is this a deliberate change or just a mistake?
That's weird, I ran an 805 down the same stretch last night and it was definitely still 125mph I can't imagine speed limits should be different for either train though, unless this was intentional.
i found the same thing the other day and was rather surprised by it, even more confusingly it’s still 125mph going the other way
805’s shouldn’t be doing 125mph. Only EPS stuff (tilting trains like 390) are permitted to 125mph on WCML.
the section between wolverhampton to stafford isn’t EPS, so 125 is permitted on normal consists such as the 390, 805 and 220
That's incorrect. Class 220s never had tilt equipment to begin with and have always ran at 125mph. And did you even read my original post? I said that on the route's previous timetable you could run at 125mph.
Between Wolverhampton and Stafford, line speeds for all trains is permitted at 125mph. No EPS limits are needed on this section so it doesn't have any.
