The first TSW route of 2020 is probably going to be American. I saw Matt was talking on Discord about how the past few American routes were passenger routes were passenger routes and that it’s time to “balance the scale.” He also said, “So yawl want freight?” This leaves me to believe that the next American route will be a freight route. As to what that might be, I have no idea. I am curious as to want you all would like to see as a freight route. I would like to see Norfolk Southern make an appearance.

I hope for a heavy freight route too. I also think that we will get a new train operator like with every new American route. Perhaps it's NFS or BNSF. It would be nice if we get a Evolution Series Loco or a SD 70. Loading/unloading- and shunting action would be nice too.

BNSF probably won’t happen due to licensing issues. They aren’t registered internationally, so DTG can’t sell anything with their logo outside of the US.

If it's freight only, I hope it has a lot of activities like loading/unloading, yards movements etc.

It could be Norfolk Southern along with New Jersey transit raritan valley line because the raritan valley covers some of the Norfolk Southern Route.

Well if it is freight next, I'm hoping to see some proper Union Pacific content for the route. And no, P.C. does not count for me. Or more of a heritage route like Norfolk & Western or Rio Grande. Just my thoughts though.

    So many options ….
My preference would be for a route with challenging grades that is predominantly single track requiring me to monitor my speed and be prepared to take the siding as the traffic gets heavy. The Mojave Sub comes to mind!

If it's Norfolk Southern I'll never called complain to DTG again. My birthday is in January on a Thursday so, I might be lucky.

I hope it’s New Jersey transit because some of the Norfolk Southern goes on the suffern route as well.

Disappointing for BNSF fans, especially since Dovetail had no problem with their licensing in previous years.....

Just imagine if Dovetail decides to do Cajon Pass with ATSF, Southern Pacific, and Union Pacific stock....

How about further north like Canada? There's probably other licensing issues with that idea but it would be a nice trip for the team ;)

It could be BNSF actually. They recently released a BNSF dlc for train simulator worldwide but had it un-branded outside the US.

The recent BNSF route that was released worldwide was not made by DTG that also includes the Raton Pass, both of these were made by a third party. DTG has made it clear that they do not want to make barnded and unbranded routes.

So if there is to be a BNSF route it will be a while before that happens. it would nice to have a BNSF route in TSW.

Well then, next year better start great with the next US route. Be either on the East (More down than up) or the West (without being next to the coast). And betting will be either UP or NS related for sure.

To me, it would be somewhere with the Mountain routes like Donner Pass or Solider Summit (which I know it ain't possible right now since there very long to work with). Or something like Sherman Hill or something differently new for sure. Either way, at least it's time for some US freight being worked on in TSW for once, other than Heavy Haul that is.

I think something like Sherman Hill is a pretty good guess, given they have the UP license. Of course there's plenty of CSX routes still out there.

In any case i hope it's truly freight-focused, moreso than SF/SJ or NEC at least.

Would have to agree with you there. I haven't seen much of CSX contents than the other Class 1s in TS1 so far (even their predecessors too). Hopefully, the Devs will do more of CSX in the near future.

CSX Heavy Haul is still the best route in this game if You look for freight. More than 2 hour long, now with fixed physics it is (for me) best freight You can get now in TSW.

    So, what I want?

New locos (Tier 3 or Tier 4 GEVO, SD70ACe and others)
New cars (grain, multi-unit well cars)
CHALLENGE! Trains (on PC) 200+ cars long with a lot of DPU's, steep grades, single track with sidings (constant need of accelerating and braking)
Route that is 2h+ in ride (like CSX).
Yard switching is boring for most of us so they can add something just to make everyone happy.

DTG need to start using UE4 as it should be used (now they make for the same price routes that are 20 km long)

In my opinion, I think we’ve seen ENOUGH of CSX for TSW, so I would love more UP content for TSW, and yes, there is a high possibility of there being UPRR routes in TSW since they got the license in PC.

Yeah, but that’s for pc players, what about us console gamers? We haven’t seen a heavy haul freight route in TSW for consoles.

Does anyone actually know what the reason was for not providing CSX heavy haul on consoles? Was it purely a marketing decision?

CSX:HH was the very first route that they did and they used various methods of building it that turned out to be very heavy on resources such that the existing consoles would struggle to run it satisfactorily. From what I understand from Matt's comments it would probably require a substantial rebuild that would not be financially viable.
