Which Cargo Line pack would.be the most value. They are all.on 50% discount (except the Nuclear one) I have almost every modern UK route (From TSW6 not included)
Personally I like 1 and 2 the most, with 2 just taking top spot, mostly because of the loading and unloading scenarios on MML.
Pretty much what he said. Cargo Line 1 and 2 add services in many original timetables, and probably will be added to many more in the future. Cargo Line 3 does not add in so many places as 1 and 2, but still adds enough and also has a very good chance of adding to future routes. So those 3 I would buy for sure, picking 1 and 2 first if you have to choose. Cargo Line 4 (Military) is OK because it adds to GWE and has a separate timetable for Preston - Carlisle. It is nice to see it in GWE, but I would have preferred that they added CL4 services to the original PSC timetable instead of making a separate one. Not saying that CL4 will not appear in other new DLCs, but it is not as easy to find a place for it as it is for the previous 3 CL DLCs. Cargo Line 5 (Nuclear) is the most uninteresting of them so far IMHO. It only adds services into the MML timetable and a service into the original Riviera timetable. Everything else goes into added timetables (Preston - Carlisle and WCML) but not the original ones that come with the routes. Difficult to know how easy it would be to fit this content into new routes, as nuclear waste is not the most common cargo you see everyday.
Personally I only brought Petroleum, Nuclear and Military, Petroleum because they accidentally allowed use of 47 (WSR) and 52 so I bought for the reason of other locos than 66 for modern freight, (even if inaccurate) Nuclear and Military because it's something different Should point out I'm not that big into freight, really.
Found 1 & 2 to be very useful. 3, I picked up in a sale. Haven't bought 4 & 5. Don't currently plan to, either.
Only recently picked up Vol 2 and it’s by far the best imo, adds a lot to quite a few routes. The gameplay to its “home” route Midland Mainline is particularly engaging and it really beefs up the freight content for Medway Valley too.
Thanks for all the interest and perspectives. Obviously I couldn't give my opinion on the best one (Aggregates) as it would be bias. However, the YouTuber RichyRail posted a video comparing them all which is pretty cool. You can check it out below. He had absolutely no prompt from ourselves (Aggregates didn't win) and its great to see independent comparisons like this.
Hiya Adam, aggregates or the TEA are my faves. Are there any more UK packs in development atm or is that it?
Thanks for everyone's replies and suggestions. I've ended up buying Vol. 1 & 2. I have began a service (and am yet to finish) an Aggregates service. It was really interesting and quite fun. I am yet to do any services with the petroleum cars. I do have some livery ideas for them though thanks again
I believe the 'super aggregates' from the GWE remaster deserve some additional attention. Double headed 66 with a combination of the HOA's from CL2 and the JNA's from SEHS. Nice services to drive.
I enjoy all CL packages just adds more variety and possibilities, especially now that ive gotten my head around PC Editor and building my own TTs! For myself I would like to see Cargo line car carriers UK as their next installment, With another WCML DLC coming shortly with TVL, would look good running up and down it, including WCMLsth
On the subject of cargo line packs is Vol 5 (the nukes ) the last one in the series or is there going to be more which have not yet been Announced still no car transports no Hablins both are which used on UK Freight lines which is Operated by DB Freight
Ah Memories of Rail Express Systems https://www.flickr.com/photos/transrail/galleries/72157723344745390/
How much mail can there be between the royals? Enough to fill a whole train? Or haven't they heard of email?
Ahh Yes we never got to see them down here apart from the odd RES 47 on the odd bit of freight. Closest thing to those were the odd working of the Blue newspaper GUV's that would run in the morning on Bank holidays to Poole with double headed 73's or 73 / 33's, or two doubled headed 33's (0's 1's or on the odd occasion /2's). Hil;ight of the Bank Holiday that was lol.... until they stopeed them Would love the Class 325, but sadlty cant see it happening. Hentis
A Cargo Line RES Pack would be excellent. As for my favourites. Cargo Line 1 & 2 are very good. 3 is worth getting. 4 I don't see the point of it, it looks totally unrealistic and out of place. I regret buying it, even at sale price, as I uninstalled it fairly quickly. 5 would be ok if it was used more, I'm not a big fan of it.
Didn't see the point in Intermodal, and still don't know how they stop, since none of the braking components exist on the model. Nuclear was broken on release, 6 months later still waiting on an update. Oh and it's a big flashy DLC about the class 20, that uses a class 47 for most of its services... Military was different but the services were boring copy and paste. Petroleum and Aggregates were decent, wouldn't touch anything from Skyhook since.
