Updates When Are They Coming

Did they say in the roadmap that updates are coming in the end April? If so where are they dtg or are you gonna release them on the last day of April.

We're still waiting for updates that were due before Christmas. They'll probably be released just in time for TSW7.

Thomas is getting his 1st big patch next Monday i thought they released things on Tuesday or Thursdays.

100% we’ll be paying for these updates. The cycle will continue with TSW7.

 

If that's the case then my plan is to go down to DTG head office and start lobbing Hornby Thomas the Tank Engine models at the windows... Maybe make Molotov's out of them, a "Flaming Thomas" perhaps

TSW5 and 6 were free at first and the TSW 7 Core will probably be free to. You only had to pay for the Core Routes. Stop lying about the Updates costing you anything.

 

What if someone doesn’t pick up the TSW starter pack within the allocated time frame?

When I buy a new edition of TSW each year, standard, deluxe or premium if I want to play upcoming new routes with new features/updates. I pay for it.

That's the fault of the individuals. DTG gives away free access to Updates every Year without any conditions. It's not difficult to add the Free Starter Pack to your Games, even if you don't intend to play it right now. Of course, you can also skip a Year and wait for the next Free Starter Pack; nobody is forcing you to buy TSW.

 

That's because they haven't been able to resolve fully I believe, as a 3rd party developer managed to crack what was causing it and it's taking time to implement across the board.

 

It’s difficult if by some chance you lose access to the internet. You don’t always know the circumstances of the individual.
Also how do you know that DTG might stop the free starter pack one day, personally I don’t think that will happen, but there is always a possibility.

 

I really hope so Dal because most people are getting fed up with the broken promises from DTG. We still have a week left though so I’m remaining optimistic.

I bought TSW6 three months ago. So, when V7 comes wil the expectation be to pay for it or will it be an update?

There is an update coming dont worry about it. I have it on Steam RC beta. It wont be long till its available. No need to fret or worry.

It seems that DTG has already provided the ambassadors with the patches, and the ambassadors are now allowed to report on them.

If they share them with ambassadors why the hell cant they share with us the paying customers .

 

All I am really waiting for is the 145 patch and this one still seems to be miles away

I must say I'm pleasantly surprised that East Coast way and ECML are receiving some fixes and upgrades despite their age. Could this be a precursor to some more remasters, I wonder?

A "premium" product released incomplete is perhaps the most obvious sign of poor quality plaguing TSW.
Even TSG is becoming clumsy.
A while ago, I would have bought this type of product with my eyes closed.
Now, I don't even trust them anymore.

 

The free starter pack for TSW7 is essentially an update for your existing content, but it’s time limited. If you miss it then you’ll be paying for it.

I buy the deluxe edition most years so it doesn’t affect me. I did buy the special edition for TSW6 last year since I didn’t own 4/5 dlc routes.

Wow does that float anyones boat?.

So fixes and updates seem well and good, but for me personally where is the consideration for the individual who have small grievances about a particular product.

One big issue for me currently is that of unavailable ECW liveries that I can’t even re download because the system still recognises ECW liveries that I can’t access after DTG did the ECW remaster.

That’s around 12 to 15 liveries gone. Hours worth of work yet DTG don’t seem to care.

The usual story would be if it doesn’t affect mass users they won’t fix. However take to the forums and it’s full of users reporting and repeating the same stuff at the point of sale and as we’re are well aware even weeks months or years in some cases.

A fix never comes for people that are expecting even hoping for a fix. A simulator game can’t be that if the immersive aspect gets taken away by silly bugs or issues be little or small. If it bothers a customer then it should be fixed regardless if it’s one user or a thousand.

I was waiting for a patch for Class 86, but they'll probably release it with Preston Crew.

 

Its currently only available through the beta channel on Steam thats why.

 

That's on them tbf. You can log in on Steam on your phone and get TSW for free within that 1 month period if you don't have access to a computer.

 

You see I think this is where they get you.

The free game doesn’t really fix anything because any issues are directly linked to the DLC. (Separate purchases).
So I’ll use the word a con because the free pack or full core version doesn’t do anything to remedy any discrepancies with older purchases because again each route is separated.

Even in each route it has the same description.
TSW compatible content released for a previous Train Sim World (Registration mark) - FEATURES MAY REMAIN UNCHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL RELEASE AND MAY NOT MAKE USE OF ALL NEWER CORE FEATURES.

Legally they are telling the customers that any fixes in core product may or may not impact on these separate purchases that have issues.
To me this implies any new core pack or game will not fix anything because of what the legal description is covering them for.

I could be wrong so always open to correction.
Evidence does suggest that no fixes come for previous mistakes on past releases with newer core games because the community still has words to say when it comes to matters of long known (edit) issues.

If that's the extent of the update, all I have to say is how thoroughly underwhelming.

Once again, major issues with the game such as the save feature, dynamic weather, night lighting, reverb and other core sound issues are nowhere to be seen.

I think the game as a whole has come to a standstill. I predict the future will be a succession of AB routes, with a few new features that don't add much, but nothing much in the way of core advancements that take the game forward in any meaningful way. Most, if not all, new content will come from third parties and, judging by recent experience, will not be QA'd thoroughly enough to eliminate major problems before release.

 

Feels to me they are doing the most minimal amount of fixes and have the nerve to call them important updates.

 

unusual approach by DTG, I would hate the be the guy that has to keep writing the NDA's at DTG to cover all these potentially loophole ridden circumstances.

Can anyone say if the patch has the Class 90 AWS fix (i.e. not being able to acknowledge on controller)? Anything for the Expert 145?

 

Is there a patch note post somewhere? Or have we sunk to a new depth of godawful comms fragmentation where not only do we need to scrape messages from discord, but now have to watch YouTube videos to get basic information?
