Has anyone else found fun easter eggs in the game? I'm not talking about the stuff you're supposed to be hunting for (for achievements), but hidden stuff that serves no other purpose but a giggle for the devs and fun for the players who stumble on them. I'll start. In the DB BR 101 Expert, completely power down the loco (or start with a service or scenario that has the loco powered down). Now, switch on the battery, sit down on the drivers seat, click the EBULA screen to focus on it and wait. You'll see the screen cycle through the EBULA computer's boot sequence, and for a few seconds the screen will show a Windows Embedded desktop (or something made to look like one without infringing on Microsoft's IP). If you look closely, among the icons that are supposed to be there on that desktop, there's a familiar icon to long time players of Dovetail games.
Not sure if it counts as an Easter Egg exactly, but there's this weird thing in the woods in the Training Centre.
I like those little unexpected places where you can sit and watch trains go by. I was really impressed that I was able to sit on the bank of the River Roding where the London boroughs of Redbridge, Barking and Newham meet, next to the railway bridge and watch the trains go past on the Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside route. This was a special discovery for me because it was one of my favourite spots for getting away from life when I was a child in the 80s and early 90s. I love the sound of rivers, I used to look out for rare birds like Kingfishers and Warblers, I used to look across the river at East Ham Depot (now partially obscured by the A406) and wish I worked there, not realising that in a few years I would be the HR officer there. The only less fun bit is that the line in TSW is so dead.
I can't quite remember, definitely seem to recall it's in some thick woods, I'll have a look tomorrow.
