Adding A.I. trains to my route I found the Kuju 125 wouldn't appear. After some experimenting I found it will appear with 4 coaches but no more (The one in Kuju\Railsimulator\PreLoad is 7 coaches). I looked at the A.I. train in York to Newcastle. It has 4 coaches even though the PreLoad has 7. I made a short 125 PreLoad which works but I would like the long train. Any ideas ?
I presume you are trying to make them appear from a Portal - that does not always work - removing trains does. When I add AI trains to a Scenario I just place them on the track at the location I want them to appear.
Marker length may also be an issue. I never created quick drives but I've read that consist segments and various consist lengths exist to ensure that trains don't end up blocking too much. The simple example is sidings - short sidings can only house a couple wagons while proper yard tracks may hold entire strings. This is either dynamic or completely automated based on any marker where the train is stationary. The attached photo is from a Class 31 quick drive, so longer consists definitely can appear on Newcastle-York.
Thanks for the replies. I'm adding them to a quick drive. Is that York - Newcastle photo of an A.I. train ?. By Marker length you mean stations, destinations etc. ?
Could be any of numerous settings, so I would start checking as follows: My default settings for the Kuju 125 downloaded from TS Tools are: - Class 43 HST + 8MK 3 - Kuju\RailSimulator\PreLoad\NewcYork\BR IC125 HST.bin: - High Speed Train - Blue & Grey - High Speed Train - Blue & Grey - 1975 to 2050 - eConsistTypePassengerIntercity - Diesel - 00000003-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - Length (220m) Your created 4 coach version will need to match the above, but will have a smaller length. The default QD AI Spawn length for this route is 150m, so this setting will need to be increased to say 250m to get the default 8 coach HST above to appear.
It's AI - my train was the 31. I suppose, follow westcastlerail's advice, should work it's probably a filter. You can clone and check the default QD, it's what I usually did when learning to create scenarios - observe.
As spawning for portals has not been "supported" by Dovetail for many years, it is better to start each AI train from a specific position. It can also reduce drain on resources if AI trains are only present around the point where the player train will pass them. John
