According to the Dovetail Live article (https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/zwolle-groningen-coming-soon), there should be two services with the DB Vectron: "The two playable freight services are operated by the DB BR 193 Vectron from Frankfurt-Fulda, hauling Zacns stock from Dresden-Riesa on what is an otherwise a relatively freight-free corridor." The thing is, I only have one service in the early morning and that's it. Do I miss something here? Frankfurt - Fulda and Dresden - Riesa are both installed. I'm on Xbox Series S btw.
Really, that's not what the article is saying. Is the other service with the Vectron also with other freight wagons?
I've only the service from Kijfhoek to Onnen, I don't have the G6 so I guess I'm unlucky then. But it's very weird you need the G6 for a service which doesn't use anything from this loco.
Indeed, it's not worth it to buy it for this route. I'm also not owning the BR155 add-on, so missing some static wagons too. Actually I hate the fact they try to force you to buy loco DLC s for this route, just to have some static stock and they did not include any freight wagons.
The route is good but got bored with it really quick. Just A2B jobs and nothing else. If it was a route with a nice lot of shunting and freight jobs I would be one a lot. But its not.
The SNG services are the ones I enjoy the most, because of more frequent stopping and I just like the train itself. The Koploper is a nice train and a real Dutch icon, but due to being an IC, it's also more boring to drive.
The G6 is worth it anyway. Best shunter loco in the game IMO. Doesn't work without RRO though. Edit: also substitutes on a lot of routes, mostly for a variant of the 363.
But the rush hour follows a wrong route, not like the route in real-life. When arriving from Groningen it enters track 2 via 1. Then at the end of track 2, everyone leaves the train. The the train change directions and move up to the other side of track 2. There it waits to go back to Groningen.
I just got this route, what services are the rush hour services and is this with the Koploper or SNG?
Matt was talking about this topic on the roadmap and that in the future they want to start including more freight in the core, so that these kind of issues don´t arise.
On the SNG you'll see several shorter SNG services Groningen Assen in both morning and afternoon peak hours.
That would be nice if they do that, now you need to own a bunch of old routes and you also need to have them installed, only for layers.
Thanks, I will take a look, because sometimes more then a hour drive is to much for me. Has some one else noticed, that if you drive a singe SNG, you need more power, like over 50% to cruise at 140 km/h, while a double is around the 40%. I had my first drive on a single SNG today and noticed this directly, isn't this weird?
Right, weird there is difference between a single and double one. I also miss the 4 car versions of both trains, this is quite a common combination, one 3 and one 4 car.
The G6 is really worth it just for not having to drive a 363 anymore when the game calls for a 363, if anything, lol.
It's mostly this route that makes an IC boring to drive. In fact, the section between Zwolle and Assen is the longest non-stop section of track for domestic IC services in the Netherlands. Most of the other Dutch IC services have more frequent stops, to a point where it's debatable if NS really should call those services "InterCity", as the trains follow a pattern that's more like a German RegioExpress. For example, the distance between Arnhem Centraal to Utrecht Centraal (61 KM) is about as long as Zwolle - Assen (62 KM), but ICs on that route have two intermediate stops (always Ede-Wageningen and either Driebergen-Zeist or Veenendaal-De Klomp depending on the service). Because trains run much faster on that route, the journey time is still even shorter than on Zwolle - Assen though.
