Quick question that I need help with I want to do loco hauled services on fife circle what platform did the class 68 and the MK2F coaches sat at Edinburgh , and how far did it Go as it was only hauled by one loco and did not have a DVT.

Gemini is saying it terminated at Glenrothes With Thornton via DunfermLine now theres 2 platforms at that sattion and at the end a curve round to go back to Edinburgh so i'm guessing it uses platform 1 instead of platform 2 though never sure its all confusing to me

It makes no sense itt Would have to be top and tail there’s no possible way to run round anywhere or fife circle in game is completely wrong

But I have seen videos and there’s no top and tail it’s just one loco I’m stumped on how the bloody how it can run round at Edinburgh and Glenrothes with Thornton

Gemini saying it was top and tail by Using TDM but I have seen enough YouTube videos to know that’s wrong there’s definitely only one loco and it must run round at each station

And it definitely doesn’t use the south curve line because in IRL it doesn’t come in the station using platform one it uses platform two

Does the TSC version give any clue as that included the Class 68 hauled services? Unfortunately I can’t check myself as I don’t have TSC installed at present.

It would've left from Platform 19 at Waverley and ran up the Fife Circle to Glenrothes with Thornton Platform 1 (via Dunfermline). It doesn't need to run around because on the return, it ran via Kirkcaldy. It would leave Platform 1 at GLT, use the curve to join the main line at Thornton South Junction and run via the coast to reach Inverkeithing and onwards back to Waverley arriving in on Platform 19/Platform 2 again. Then it would go ECS to Motherwell T.M.D. via the Edinburgh Suburban Lines/Shotts Line (it would do the opposite before doing the run around Fife too).

Example of a Turbostar today doing the same routing:

    Realtime Trains | 2G11 0648 Edinburgh to Glenrothes with Thornton | 07/05/2026
    then
    Realtime Trains | 2K08 0750 Glenrothes with Thornton to Edinburgh | 07/05/2026

It is because Rivet label Platform 20/Platform 1 as Platform 1A and Platform 1B despite it being two different platform numbers IRL, same applies with P19/P2 being labelled Platform 2A and Platform 2B.

Platform 19 IRL is Platform 2A on the in-game map.

There’s a run round loop on platform 19 so I can do the loco services now on the fife and run round using platform 20 at Edinburgh to. Get in front of carriages on 19. Nice

I worked services up until around 2012 when there were 2 morning and evening services. As far as I remember one morning service ran round the circle via Kirkcaldy calling all stops except N Queensferry the other ran empty anti clockwise into Thornton yard to lay over then passenger from Cardenden. In the evening they ran clockwise to Glenrothes with one stopping service continuing via Kirkcaldy which was looped at Dalmeny to allow express services to pass and one service empty via Kirkcaldy. The empty stock then ran to or from Millerhill yard east of Edinburgh. They generally departed at that time from Waverley platform 2 or 19 but could use any through platform.
