I'm still glad I didn't give this DLC my money. I learnt my lesson with the Nuclear Flask Skyhook DLC and the unreleased patches.
MAC received 2 updates as I recall, one to fix the weird ballast mounds & improve performance, along with a few other fixes, then another which introduced TSW6 features such as announcements, further performance increases & additional layers. In terms of the class 90 situation, it seems to have been lumped in with everything else that has been released in 2026 & thus isn’t getting any updates so far.
True, MAC did get pretty swift updates to fix (bodge) the two tracks that were too close together further apart BUT at alarming curves taken at 75mph which when driving is terrible, alongside other route fixes. The trackwork bodge was, I believe the only option apart from a hugely time consuming relaying job which would have also likely broken signalling too. ATS have treated MAC well. The Class 90 seems more of a "it's so anticipated people will buy anything" which probably generated a huge amount of initial purchases, before players noticed that it's actually pretty awful. The problem with the Class 90 is that it has fundamental issues that can't just be bug fixed, the sounds are absolute cack, there isn't even a braking sound.... If ATS are truly going to get the Class 90 all singing and dancing again its going to take longer than a couple of weeks. (and based on MAC at this stage there's no reason to see why not).
Yeah going off what they’ve done with MAC so far (which keep in mind a few improvements have seldom been made to other TSW routes without ‘remasters’ such as the additional features & layering stock that released after the route) I would be a little more optimistic about the 90 than other DLC’s. That being said, it’s done irreparable damage (for me) to their reputation as far as rolling stock goes, no chance will I be buying another one of their stock packs again upon release. The communication has also not helped the situation at all, the problems were phrased asif it was simply an incorrect build which seems not to be the case, so of course people expected a pretty quick initial patch for the loco. Then there were the rather bizarre comments from DTG Candace which only poured fuel onto the fire. Hopefully though ATS will pull it together, there aren’t many modern AC locos for the UK, so it’s pretty important to get them right.
Interesting ATS hasn't been online on the forum since 1st April - ostrich syndrome? No intention of purchasing any more DLC for the foreseeable future.
Intrigued that the 90 update is not part of today's update. If it is only a matter of pushing the correct build, that would have been the expected thing to do.
not wanting to put words in Alan's mouth, but I think he said the following: 1: A "clean" vanilla build needs to be established and sent out to players. 2: short term fixes will follow to address gameplay mechanics. 3: Longer term fixes will look at addressing the sounds and other gameplay issues.
OK, but I was under the impression that ATS had provided DTG with the proper build already prior to the original launch and that the build got mixed up at DTG. Could be wrong though.
a couple of big-ish updates since the 90 came out but it’s still in the same state it was on launch day, nearly a month later. could and hopefully will be a great dlc but it’s not up to scratch and the urgent fixes can’t be kept waiting much longer
I’ve just got around to watching the video. It’s a bit cringy to be critical of others and then do the same or worse yourself. I’ve not seen any news on an update. Has there been one and I missed it.. just not happened yet… ?
I wish I never wasted my money on it. I was so looking forward to this dlc as well. You know something different other 66. Even the timetable for it is pretty crappyy as well.
Think I did a 90 timetable service and didn't see a single 390 on the fast lines at any point, just a couple of 350s. Haven't played since. Very disappointing that ATS called for "feedback" earlier on this thread and hasn't bothered to sign in and provide an update. Patches aside, frankly it's a kick in the teeth. The community spend money on the product, the developer asks for feedback, and then offers no update on what's being done and what feedback is being actioned, that they asked of. The fact they haven't responded in nearly a month, to any of the feedback here, suggests they don't give a damn. They've got the money that's all they did it for.
Looking at the comments on the video he posted about the 90, his comments / replies to comments suggest he's not allowed to say anything about what's happening with the 90 addon. Doesn't explain why he hasn't been on here showing some indication of taking the feedback on board which they asked for...... but obviously the money is rolling in so it's clearly not a priority
If this is true, then I find it extremely concerning that DTG put their third parties under such strict conditions that they are unable to update their customers and defend their brand. I also wonder why other third parties are not under such restrictions. Of course each of them could have signed variations of contracts so have different restrictions imposed, so I’ve no reason not to take ATS word for it
What I find utterly incredible is that this DLC is still on sale. It should have been pulled as soon as the issues became known. As long as it is, unsuspecting customers are being sold a product KNOWN to be faulty. We’re obviously not talking minor faults as the creator had to acknowledge and apologise for a product they’d released. DTG really should answer this question.
Just fired it up after not playing it since day 1. No fixes yet on PS5 it seems. Where was this patch ATS said they were working on?
I think the worst thing for me, apart from not having properly working warning systems (yellow Hud Doesn't come up when aws/vigilance - I am deaf so don't play with sound!) - is the fact there are no 390s on the timetable. Eg now - doing the service 0A06 Crewe to Wembley, no 390s in Euston on the map, and only passed one 350. It's dead. Ruins the experience.
Yes the lack of an immersive timetable is another letdown of this dlc. In your case i think its best u select a busy (realistic) uk timetable, set your train in a yard or on a start point by using the free roam tool. and just give yourself an endpoint or loops via dispatcher. Its more effort, but i do a lot of german freight this way. Shunting around, going back and forth the route serval times.Spawning the wagons i want, on a realistic matter, making brakecalculations and dispatch myself through the route. Be aware for a smooth pathing the locos front direction has to look in the direction of your path, so you can usually divert paths without problems. I mean the loco direction visible on your 3D Map. So if you set up a double traction 90s with both having their pantos on their driving end, you shouldnt have trouble with path setting when you set up your freeroam paths. Yes the freight services might be not 100% realisticly according to time, but i thought the bigger benefit is driving and enjoy the accurate timetable. Technically its possible to uncouple consists and couple new wagon groups without deleting your double traction 90s pair, so you can use your spawned loco pair all day long.
Only issue with spawning in free roam is that you get no AP for the train or route, if that’s of importance to the player.
So still no aws dsd reset on this for xbox controller. Im not normally one to moan but this is beyond a joke now. Won't be buying nothing else day 1 again till I read these forums.
Maybe they are rebuilding it from the ground up so it doesn't look and sound like something from MSTS 20 years ago...
Alan Thompson last seen April 1st. Either he's looking in anonymously, hiding under another name or clearly doesn't care less about punter feedback. I wanted to buy this too.
Let's just hope if DTG ever decide to do a Class 91 and Mark IV set, they don't contract ATS to make it...
Was there ever a "proper" version that was supposed to release day one? Or was the product we have now, the only ever product initially intended - who knows. Id say the latter, for the former, should really mean an imminent release.
Well what do you think, really? If it was just a "wrong build sent out" then they'd have sent the "right" build out within the next day or so but alas just empty promises as per usual... As for the trackwork at Slade Lane Jn on MAC, it's appalling, the initial oversight causing collisions could be forgiven but the state of that bodge job is downright worse than anything Rivet have been accused of. If they had to rip it out and redo a load of signalling then tough, that's how it's supposed to be. It is a shame as I really want the 90 but in its current state, you couldn't give it to me for free.
Class 90 is still in use in the real, so they should be able to get it right since there are current drivers. I do know Anglia sold theirs when the ceased doing business and DB dumped theirs as just too inefficient. I still prefer the TS Classic implementation in GEML: which at least works properly. .Again, it gets back to not doing due diligence from the start. If there was truly just a mixup, then this should have been a quick and easy hotfix. Makes my trust level drop by a significant amount., It was already low due to being told they won't even bother to look at fixing older (or frankly they meant any) DLC on TS Classic.. I can at least get a response from RSSLO for their stuff. For the record, I would also like to see some more modern Freight locos - They indicated the 70 is due out ( Not exactly modern and who knows how that implementation will look.) DB primarily uses the 67 for diesel and the 92 for electric( built for channel tunnel crossing /EU use but also heavy freight) These are dual electric locos so overhead and DC third rail.. Some 88's are in use (Bi-mode in the fashion of the 801 - not meant to run on diesel on the regular but can if necessary) The brand new 99 is a true bi-mode in similar vein to the DB BR159 (also used by HVLE) There are also a handful of 93s which are Diesel, Overhead Electric and Batter powered..Apparently, there are still some daily use 56s still out there as well. Of these, I would like to see the 67 since it can be used for medium to heavy freight as well as loco hauled services. Nevertheless, the 66 is used by virtually everyone including the MRCE in Germany as the DB BR266.with just some changes to the operating panel.
Train Sim Society has put out some content on Youtube today about these patch delays and communication issues that’s worth a watch.
Deep down I hope the reason is due to it being included in the timetable with Trent Valley release with the fixes uploaded with that. It's the hope that kills you
Worth a watch for him maybe, to boast his viewer count with another clickbaity video that has zero extra information than this exact forum thread.I just came from said video coming up in my feed and its nothing more than a kid reading a written summary of this thread. And misinformation saying that JT/AABS/Vector are here on the forum and offer better quality of customer support. We are waiting for Blackpool Branches updates since 2 years or so... All third parties are there for the first 2-3 days then slowly fade away shifting the focus to the next new thing. They do not have community teams of 10 people and one called a Marketing and Community director, whom does not seem to have any kind of handle on the situation. DTG need to get their head out of their bottoms a properly offer some kind of customer support for all the content they are publishing. That should clearly be part of the deal of being a publisher at the scale they are at. And people should have a thing called brains and not fall into FOMO and then complain about it, time after time again. If something is decent when it releases you can still buy it 1 week later at the same price and you avoid buying dogshit like the Class 90 or the BR 147 were. I dodged them both, in fact only the Czech route and MVL from the recent stuff was worth considering, and even those had/have bugs still unfixed or at least un released.
Yeah that's his M.O, then again you also have the likes of the Manchester Evening News and Daily Mail scouring Reddit for things to post about, guess that's how the world is these days :/
He basically asked the same questions I did in an earlier post here. So for anyone not following this thread, it’s a useful reminder to do so and not let it fall off its perch. Selling a known faulty product to unsuspecting buyers is extremely shabby, to put it nicely.. because I don’t want get cancelled. I got criticised for explaining what DEI is. It’s pretty laughable that you can be jumped on for enlightening a few sheep whilst fleecing customers with a broken product is seen as perfectly ok whilst at the same time telling said peed off customers they’re being unproductive. It’s not how I would run a business.
Any updates on this? The video on YouTube very clearly states that AWS and DSD issues identified after Quality Assurance had a fix but was not rolled into the final launch. "The last day of QA we had a bug where..." Etc. essentially this implies that a faulty product was intentionally released to the public. Do we know where this fix is? All users are entitled to a refund, the YouTube video is evidence the product is not fit for sale and this is a breach of consumers rights.
