Absolutely love the first picture. Pretty well captures the atmosphere around Krefeld It reminds me on routes like Frankfurt S Bahn or Kinzigtalbahn, which, as well, pretty well made you really recognise places simply by looking at the cleanliness of the stations (you could really „smell“ Offenbach underpass).

 

If you zoom in on the image, does a Tank Container appear on the left?
Or is it a mod?

 

That is exactly why the feature I was wondering about the existance of, and if it doesn't exist it should, is substitutions that ONLY THE PLAYER can pick as their starting service. That way at least I can have the RE13 be my quasi-eurobahn one without seeing swiss trains drive around.

Much agreed with your points. However, TOD 3 aside, I wish perhaps they could have the Flirt with an unbranded livery perhaps like similar with other routes.

Looks great, very excited. Would love to see an expert 101 timetable though.

It is indeed possible to have substitution activated but with 0% probability of spawning with a certain stock. I'd argue it would be a great idea to have the RE13 set to have the swiss flirt 2 set at 0% so that players who wish (and maybe have a livery) can play a sort-of eurobahn service but will never see a swiss flirt appear by itself.

 

Since the only option to be used for said services likely is a Br 425, I dont think substitution with an RABe 523 is possible at all.
Both units are too different in total or wagon length, let alone that the 523 being a playable option on this route would just confuse most players.

 

Can't argue about the technical aspects as I don't really know, but honestly that second part just sounds like a "problem" you just made up.
I'd rather have a bunch of people not willing to do some basic research believe it's a mistake and ....simply not touch it, honestly. None will die.
On the other hand, including it (if it works) means even people on console (and people on PC without mods) potentially could play in the timetable with the quasi-correct stock. Yes, scenario planner exists but it's lame in comparison.

 

First, this is nowhere close to being the "quasi.correct" stock.
Second, what problem did i make up? If said EMU would appear in the timetable, a majority of people would wonder why an SBB unit would appear on a route nowhere close to switzerland.
Many would take that as unrealistic, use it as criticism against the route and in the end against the 3rd party developer.
All that just because YOU want a flirt on this route. (Not repeating why the 523 might not even be possible to substitute anyways)

Why dont we turn it around and i say you are making up arguments by saying a considerable part of console players would request for the 523 as a substitution option. That is a made up problem.

Believe me, we all wanted a new flirt for this route, but it always ends up with time being the enemy.
Just wait and at some point we surely will get a german flirt variant in some way.

 

Im Dutch (Netherlands reference raaaahhh) and even I don't want the SBB FLIRT as a layer for the RE13.
* It's unrealistic: SBB ≠ eurobahn (not even remotely close to eachother)
* The FLIRT is very different (even though they are from the same type): apart from livery are there also other exterior differences (buffers, doors). Interior is also nothing alike.
* Obviously incorrect safety systems
And last but not least, the FLIRT we have in game is just ass. "But we got a FLIRT" yeah whatever, it's still ass and I still don't want to drive it nor having it.

edit: apparently 'poop' gets changed to love, that is something I absolutely do not want to say to the FLIRT.

 

Not quasi correct. Quasi correct would be a TALENT 2 with 3 coaches on a route that only has talent 2 with 4 coaches irl.

But your idea is very far away from reality, confuses the majority of players and makes the DLC look very goofy at best. Apart from the train being a Tod3 vehicle on a Tod4 route.

If you want it that bad, there are enough tutorials for doing a timetable mod

 

Yeah, as if even DTG didn't already have similar-enough but not correct stock appear here and there (and they don't even disable it from spawning!), but anyway I give up. I guess we'll end up playing yet another route where the ET6 is a red 425, the 1440 is a 425, the 1428 is a 425, the 462 is a red 425, and the 648 is a red 642. Fun.

 

Tbf, this is a new dev and I would rather they learn first by focusing on only one aspect of a new DLC and have a better quality on that, rather than trying to do all at once but the whole product is lacking.

Despite this, the focus of this route is freight and I am absolutely looking forward to the new Waggon (s ?) they will provide with this route (as was hinted in one of the preview pics)!

 

After 10 years of TSW, the word "learning" is a bit misplaced, I'd say.
So, is TSW in the hands of novice modders?
What is DTG doing?
Outsource the work and that's it.
The boat is sinking, badly.
That's more cause for concern than rejoicing...

 

wdym? I think I dont understand what you are saying. This is a new dev, not DTG! Yes, Folezz has been modding content before, however, it was said many times before that you really do have to learn how to do things properly when it comes to officially releasing a new route! Not sure whats wrong with this, I must admit, even if a product is on the market for 100 years, once you do it for the first time you have to learn it...

No one ever said there were new freight wagons on this route.
That’s because the picture showing a container tank wagon on the left was actually taken by Matin TSP.
And someone on Discord told me that this wagon already exists in TSW, via a mod.

Yeah, true, wasn’t really correct in my wording, technically you are right, it’s more an extension to the Sggrmms, however, this is what I meant. And I am fine with that. Long overdue we got new container types and I am always happy if things like this come in without a mod (even though I am on PC).

 

Actually, there's nothing wrong with this.
I'm just curious to know whether TSW is still run by professional programmers or not.
Or perhaps the professional programmers are busy with something else, assuming they still exist, given the recent (alleged) cleanup...
(The DTG or Focus ones, I mean).

 

He did have practice with the visual overhaul of Köln-Aachen. So that experience should carry over to make this even better.
