Would it be possible to add the speed limiter system that the class 801s have in real life. I think it would be really helpful on a route with long sections of 125mph running. If the 800EP for TS classic has it. We can have it in TSW
I don't think the Class 801s have a cruise control in real life - but they do have an electronic thing that stops you going above 126 mph. This is how it is in game as well.
This forum suggests that they do though. https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/a-question-about-class-800s-801s-802s.191814/
Interesting! Well DTG said that they 801s don't have a speed set, and so they didn't make one... I wonder what the reality is.
I'm investigating to find out what the reality is and will talk to setup team about any potential changes - not here to make promises, other than that i'm looking into it
Ive heard they are in a 800 series unit in real life and on TS, it’s actually meant to be on the right screen but is moved in TS to central screen for player experience reasons, from what I’ve heard.
They do have a cruise control but it is accessed via the computer on the right (TMS) I don't own it so don't know if the computer has any functionality.
The only way I know to get the 124 mph speed limiting is if you are on a pc and can dl the mod that does it.
Apologies for the necro bump, but this would be really useful on the Flying the Flag scenario, where a significant portion of the run at the start is capped to just 5 MPH. DTG Matt I guess nothing came of this then?
Ahh the goodwill that could have been generated by adding this in with the gbr pack. “Yup we’re charging a fiver for this pack but we’ve been working in the background to update the functionality” I guess the next hope is for AABS to drop it in with the 807 (and allow the code to be back ported to the other IEPs)….
AABS said they thought about implementing it in the 805 as a bonus feature but they didn’t have enough time to do it. Hopefully they have enough time for the 807 since it’s almost an exact copy of the 805 except being 7 instead of 5 coaches and not being a bi-mode MU
So a simulation of a feature of the prototype, and not a minor one at that, is now a bonus. I give up!
Maybe ‘bonus feature’ was a wrong term. I can’t exactly remember how they phrased it since it was a few months ago. But it was low on their priority list and they wanted to focus first on the more important things.
I rewatched a part of the preview stream and they said that they couldn’t finish the cruise control before the release but they are still working on it in the background. So there is a big chance it will come soon (hopefully it will be back ported to the other iet’s)
So it was recognised as something that should be included. In that case delay the release and do the job properly. There are too many examples where dlc is released before being properly finished and tested with the promise of a patch later which often never materialises.
