You must be living on a different planet to everybody else. I bought a PS5 in November and my Series S never gets used anymore. Current PS5 TSW sale is fantastic, and we are getting a new batch of discounts next Wednesday or Thursday in the Spring mid-sale refresh. XBOX is dead to me now.
It's quite shocking that there's no DLC included in the XBOX Spring sale - it's an absolutely huge affair with well over 2,000 games & DLC discounted.
Yes my comment was from over 2 months ago when Xbox had some good sales, I agree though now the sales have gone back to being terrible.
The last sales where pretty good on Xbox, so I hope those kind of sales will continue. The console before my Series S was a PS4 slim, but I was pretty dissapointed about the hardware design, especially the bad cooling. Also the PS5 has not the best designed cooling, it's more like design over functionality. A proper VRR implementation is also missing on PS, only a limited one is available when you combine your PS with an expensive HDMI 2.1 screen. Then we even didn't talk about the PS dashboard. If the next Xbox is not to my liking, I will switch to PC, most likely something based on SteamOS, like the upcoming Steam machine. No PlayStation for me anymore.
Sadly it's the norm with Xbox. It very rarely gets any decent sales compared to PS and PC. I've asked several times on X/Twitter why this is, and of course, they never reply.
I was hoping for a bit more tbh. Specifically the 38 Tube Stock as I bought Bakerloo in the last sale or the Class 33 as there's railtours for it on Medway Valley and the 171 timetable on East Coastway
I know, but I hate Windows. So for that reason I will wait and see how it's gonna be, if I not have already decided to buy a Steam Machine.
This was me 6 months ago. I ended up getting curious about building my own Steam machine with some basic hardware and within a month I’d built a decent gaming PC instead. It was very stressful and Windows was responsible for probably 95% of that but I can’t tell you how glad I am that I persisted.
So you're using Windows now if I get it correctly? The only reason for using Windows in the future, is the fact I don't have to pay again for my TSW routes, but I think I will prefer using Steam on Linux and buy routes again when on sale.
I am yes and just to be really clear - I can’t stand it. There’s a trade off though and I much prefer the PC version of the game to console. I can’t go back. Windows continues to be a daily nightmare but it’s become worth it somehow
What's worse is that a huge XBOX Spring Sale DLC follow up is due to drop today and there doesn't appear to be any TSW DLC included in that either: https://www.cheapassgamer.com/threads/xbox-deals-and-discussion.371393/post-14656713 What with all the technical issues on XBOX and the lack of discounts we really are the poor relation....
Replying to my own message.....surely the second sign of madness (the first being paying full price for TSW DLC!) The big XBOX post-Easter sale actually kicked off this week rather than last, but otherwise my previous post was correct. Looks like >1,000 items of DLC are discounted, but not a single item of TSW DLC in the sale. I shouldn't be surprised after all this time, but still....
Two last big sales of tsw addons on xbox can be easily correlated with Trainz and Simrail xbox premieres... Don't count on dtg generosity when they feel comfortably major seler/monopolist on the market.
Well we got a new sale; The standard edition of tsw 6 is currently 70% off (13.49), which is admittedly is a good deal assuming you never bought a core bundle... except that's it. Not the other editions, nor any dlc...
Pitiful - is that really the best DTG can do? Months without a sale and then one solitary item discounted, and worse still an item which all loyal customers will already own. Thanks a bunch. DTG are basically trolling those of us who play on XBOX at this point.
saw this thread at the top of the tsw discussion subforum and got excited, dtg really should add a small line before you click on a thread showing the date it was originally posted
To explain: we submit routes and locos with recommendations on the discounts, Xbox and PS will then approve or deny those suggestions. I know our team and we pretty much submit the same sale info across all the platforms from what they’ve told me. I hate the sales aren’t even and don’t seem fair, and I wish I could do more though.
That's the first time we've been told about that process as far as I know. Usually it's just something like Xbox don't get the sales opportunities or something to that effect. Thankyou Candace
In the browser on PC, I see below the title the date and the name of the person who create the post, in this case me on Dec 4, 2025.
Thanks for the reply, candacedtg - appreciated. And as eMAyTeeTee wrote in his message, it's good of you to share a bit more about the process. I think part of the frustration is that this has been going on for literally years now, and I would have hoped that you guys could have worked something out with MS by now; you have TSW on Game Pass so there's obviously a relationship there, but from the outside it looks like nobody at DTG is leveraging that channel of communication for the benefit of your customers. This on top of the various TSW-related issues on XBOX such as blurry textures etc. makes it seem like we're being taken granted as a community, and having loyally supported the brand and shelled out for the best part of 100 TSW XBOX DLCs since the TSW2020 days that doesn't feel good. In the absence of sales maybe you guys could be a bit creative. Maybe permanently drop the price of some pre-TSW6 DLC, for instance - this might be particularly appreciated by some of us on console who enjoy chasing XBOX Achievements or PS Trophies - or do some giveaways or competitions for DLC or at least money off vouchers. Surely there must be a way to level the playing field a bit?
I do not play old routes that often, a lot of them aren't installed even. The ones I still want to have, I only want them for layers or substitutions on more recent routes. With the current full prices they aren't worth it to buy, for example, to have the static freight wagons on the Zwolle - Groningen route, you need Ruhr Sieg Nord + BR155. I do own Ruhr Sieg Nord, but not the BR155 and it's not worth it for me to pay EUR 13,99 for only 1 type of freight wagon on 1 route. In my opinion, those wagons should be include in the route anyway, as it is only static and there is no gameplay with it at all.
Maybe this afternoon or tomorrow. Wednesday at 3pm (CEST) and Thursday are usual days/times for new sales.
According to Bloomy on cheapassgamer there's a big XBOX sale coming imminently. Problem is that once again all we're getting from a TSW perspective is the TSW6 Deluxe Edition. No DLC at all. Again.
Not one to rub salt in the wounds, but PS is having a sale on their store. A vast majority of routes and locos heavily discounted. Maybe its time to leave xbox?
Xbox sales usually happen later in the summer, around Labor Day, then through the holidays. They usually don’t have any sales this time of year.
When TSW 6 ends I hope for a Good Discount for the special Edition, I still need Cardiff and Zwolle-Groningen. Back in TSW 3, I got Spirit of Steam and Cajon for just 8 Euro.
Your lucky, l had to buy them three times. I bought them on xbox and stupidly bought TSW6 super edition but they didn’t download into tsw5 so bought them in the sale for TSW5 l stupidly knew that it wouldn’t work but got carried away when l saw them as part of the package. I didn’t go for a refund as it was my fault for not remembering. Expensive purchase in the end!!! I did explain what l had done to DTG, but they weren’t interested in helping me saying l didn’t read their instructions. I am very careful now as to what l buy from DTG
Days removed from the May Madness sale on Steam as well. I picked up goodness knows how many routes for TS Classic on there for a song because of the 80% discounts they had on there. I did pick up the TSW6 standard edition because it had several routes I didn't own for a decent discount, but it is frustrating that there's rarely a discount on routes. Is it to try and make up for potential lost revenue on the previous base games being on Gamepass? It's always been like this on XBox. If I'd had a PS4 at the time I'd have bought it on there instead and saved goodness knows how much on DLC.
The problem with that is, what if people have a lot of money invested in that particular ecosystem (Xbox). They’d have to buy a new console and then all the dlc they own too. I can’t see that happening I’m on PS5 myself and the sales are definitely miles apart from what Xbox gets. I’m not sure what your expectations are on this, price wise. I wouldn’t expect it to be much different from what the is price on sale is now. After all they want people to buy these routes to use in their future titles. I picked up the special edition of TSW6 (steam) about 2 months ago on loaded.com for £29.99, £75 off. On PSN I saw it for £31.49 around mid May.
