Will definitely get me back into driving this route again, the screenshots look excellent, will be amazing to see another PC modded timetable that we can enjoy.
A first up success I have managed to get the TT to work in the game.. still a lot of work to do, including a few more services, 121 playable thus far but ai levels around the Piccadilly area are up and to a more realistic feel! (the orange FL90 is due to a CC sub nothing I have added, just sheer coincidence the livery showed up ha!)
One thing I am trying to also achieve with this TT as Glossop is very limited with Driving options but open to a little AI for the spotter, is try and implement passing trains along the line and only showing during the month they past (I've been doing my research despite living on the other side of the world).. as an example 1Z62 + 1Z63 "Retro Norfolk Broadsman" that passed guide bridge twice in August utilizing some Creator club liveries and MK3s available in game for the closest consist (even though the mk3s are still branded).
So far for the TT, while there are only 185 playable services across the 323/150/158 + 66 (doesn't include the Ashburys Aggregate moves which Im up in the air to wait for the 70 before adding), the TT has 613 AI services to ensure the DLC itself doesn't feel so sparce when coming in and out of Manchester
Blimey, this thread's reappeared out of nowhere! Great to see there's a new TT in the works as I haven't used this route in a few years due to the fact it's completely dead in terms of traffic (and needs a refresh). I'll be keeping an eye on this, looking forward to giving it a spin! JB
Good opportunity for me to pick this route up now in the steam sale. Loving the time and care you’ve put into this flukey#4378 to give it a new lease of life. Superb job.
I will say doing this TT, that I do get a little frustrated with what is on offer with TSW and the lack there of rolling stock available...Such a shame that MAC didn't come with the 331 since we already had 3 323s..or there are no plans for a 195 except I believe we'll get another 158! While why cant they create the variants of models we have like a 221 or 150/1... Guess we are just lucky we are on PC and to those who's liveries from creators club I am using (Ive recorded the name and recognition will be given) to allow for the variation in liveries and an alternative TT to the default
It is indeed a bit frustrating, when you look at the variety of stock that was available in TSC. We've had TSW for a decade now and still no Class 91, still not much in the way of freight locomotives, still no Mk3 sleepers for Vern.... I think there are just far fewer developers out there and basically no freeware producers due to the complexity and detail that needs to go into rolling stock these days. Also DTG needs to provide a plugin for the editor so that you can just import stock, reskins and CC content straight from your TSW installation. The current method is ridiculous. JB
Or the Mark One versions to go on SoS and PFR. Fairly certain when we looked at what the timetable should have been when the route came out, there was an overnight St Pancras to Manchester and vv service that would have has a sleeping car or two.
I wish I could create liveries (not through CC) but cant find a template to use for the loco's to have a crack for those we dont have in game...liveries I have captured through CC have been put into Editor but they are only at 1080p so there is a slight blur lets say up close (but feel this is a me thing as Im still learning and might be able to rectify that with NVIDIA) as I would prefer either 2k or 4k images Maybe if I cant get them done when I release this, I can look at it down the track with someone who can create liveries at 4k.... as what I would like to do is Mirror this onto MAC next for a better experience going between the two
I'm no expert at this but I seem to remember the GodMode mod has a setting allowing you to increase the export resolution, and that for best results you want to be pushing the game resolution to 4k and the screen resolution to 200% when you're exporting. Or is there some arbitrary limit that stops you from exporting at more than 1080? JB
TBH I think its me thats caused that so will go back and try upgrading next week... need to fix up some Sim batching blockages as I added in more Rose Hill Marple services, Sheffield AI and a couple of 66 runs from signals near portals that have caused a couple of sticking points I need to rectify.. At the moment my sim batching is taking 4 hours so bit of a process.
Seeing this upcoming 2024 timetable that you are working on has made me go and buy the route while it’s on sale. Hopefully not long till we get to grips with it.
Manchester Piccadilly sure looks a lot more lively for the Glossop DLC.. On recent count 905 services in total, 203 drivable (surpassing default by 2) and 702 Ai across the whole DLC to remove the ghost town experience!
I notice this route is ÂŁ3.99 on the Steam sale at the moment for those who don't have it. Sale runs for another week.
Also please note when this is released the 323 comes from MAC, this was used due to the improved physics of the model
Oh , I misunderstood. But yeah ,it's a shame DTG doesn't do that, especially since there are other routes where you can use the same trains from other DLCs.
Just wish we had a 195, 331 and 197 in game.. would have made this a whole lot better than having to use a 158 or 323 as replacement!
Depends if it's in the core timetable or set up as a separate layer. In the latter case you'll be able to use the TT even without MAC. Only flukey has the answer (or anyone peering through his window to get a preview) JB
The MAC 323 is a layer but the major layer for all but 1 323 Hadfield service. I did one from the Glossop 323 a stock move only to prevent a possible TT crash but MAC will be required. This was done because of the improved model/ physics the TT has a number of layers for many services to show but this will be explained in the release notes. the TT has been running without issue in game
Its there as a layer for AI, there are 4 services I have put in that pass Manchester through the day. There are 20 layers in total but not all essential, the main ones will be the MAC323 for the Hadfield services, the other drivable rolling stock are mods, Northern 150/2 for the rose hill Marple and New Mills Central services + a 158 on a short run to Ashburys from the WCMLOS 2019 TT and the Sprattyheath 66 mega pack a few 66 playable services
Would it be possible to make the 323 services use the Glossop 323 units with a 100% chance to be substituted by the MAC 323 if available? That would be the best approach since not everyone owns MAC and the Glossop DLC is obviously always required.
Ive already uploaded it (So will hopefully show up on the TSC website soon), I can look at it for an update if any other concerns are raised but for now, MAC is required. So for the TT in general I have added in the Two Ashbury SS runs using 66s until the 70 is available that require a little shunt work at the FL Guide bridge depot making the total amount of services 918, 211 drivable and 707 AI
Its now available to try out, https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c3-train-sim-world/c111-timetables/i7699-glossop-2025-tt
Big issues with it i'm afraid..... Timetable mode using the MAC 3car 323 you can drive services that start from Manchester fine but when you select any services that start at Hadfield (Part 1s) or Glossop (Part 2s) you are randomly spawned on foot at a station on the map and if you look at either Hadfield or Glossop the train you are meant to be driving isn't there. Standard timetable has no issues with services starting at Hadfield / Glossop. I've also removed all mods to confirm it's not a mod clash but still get the same results with a vanilla install and just the timetable mod installed.
Well, my first run didn't go as I'd hoped as I couldn't get past the loading screen once I selected a service I was going to try one of the Hadfield Part 1 services to see if I had the same issue as WaveyDavey. I then attempted a completely different service using a 66 and had the same problem. Looks like someone else has reported the issue on the TSC download page earlier on today. I own all of the dependencies and layers except the Class 90, which shouldn't be an issue. Both the WCML PC 2019 TT and Sprattyheath's 66 megapack mods are enabled as mentioned on the download page. In my troubleshooting attempts I've disabled all other mods including God Mode, and I've also tried both with and without the Glossop Enhancement Pack enabled, but it's still not playing ball. The only thing I can think of is maybe the GodMode.sav or a CC / Livery Manager reskin causing issues? What's odd is I get no error messages on startup and the game doesn't crash, it just stays on the loading screen. The standard TT loads fine and if I fire up a 323 service from Piccadilly then the route loads in 8 seconds. Will keep investigating and let you know if I find the cause. JB
You do have MAC 323 installed as this is the main 323 for all services? I cannot replicate the error thus far but will keep checking
I think I might have found the error with the spawning issue, its down to my timings, Im just doing some adjustments and if they work an update will be available asap, apologies for the issues, put it down to first time pc editor/TT creation.. For now spawn on foot and enjoy the spotting at piccadilly or do some 150 services as it seems to be a few of the 323 only...You can still spawn on foot at Hadfield or Glossop and wait for a 323 to arrive and use a service that way.
Yes I have MAC....... I just bought it to use the mod while it had 20% off..... But as I say it's only happening on services from Hadfield/Glossop and works fine on services from Man Picc. ***Edit*** Just seen your other reply. Will look forward to the update.
With regards to the loading issue, I've gone so far as to perform a Steam integrity check and play around with the TSW settings to disable substitutions, mods, UGC liveries and UGC formations, none of which made any difference. Are we all running on Steam or are some of you on Epic / Xbox for PC? I'm trying to figure out what would cause it to load for some people and not others, unless of course not having the Class 90 is the cause... WaveyDavey, from your posts in the Class 90 thread I'm assuming you own the 90? Do you think you could move the .pak out of your DLC folder and see if you encounter the loading issue when you do that? That would give us a definitive answer! JB
I have all the layers configurable on my setup through editor so It shouldn't affect the TT if you don't have all of them installed and allows for them to be unticked, but will look into this one...just FYI Im steam only for tsw
Can I ask if you're able to shift these discussions to your own thread, helps prevent mixing of official/unofficial content in this dedicated feedback forum. Thank you!
Small point of order; for whatever historical quirk, this thread isn't actually in the dedicated feedback forum! It's in General.
