So I went and bought Stamford after the latest patch. Overall, I think the route is pretty good in terms of scenery, signaling, and services, and I can certainly see that the patch addressed major issues that were plaguing the route on initial release.

It is already a pretty good product but there are things that annoy me that really should be fixed to make it better than good enough:

-the timetabled go via instructions are sometimes too near stop signals (so you get needlessly bonked by a positive stop frequently even though, in some cases, there are no trains ahead of you)

-the suppression indicator on the CDU (not the ADU) for the Acela and ACS is bugged since it turns on and never turns off

-even when brake assurance light is on and downgrade is acknowledged, you still sometimes get an ATC penalty with the M8

-ACSES positive stop functionality is still wonky at best. The time to penalty display for ACS and Acela is basically useless - it’s supposed to countdown to zero as you approach the stop signal, not flash back and forth between random values before surprising you with a penalty without even reaching zero

-why they could not take some time to make the ADU for the ALP-46 and multilevel compatible with Stamford is confusing especially when the speed display portion seems to work correctly. For those unaware, the ADU is dark on Stamford with this stock even if ATC is cut in.

-looks like they fudged the acknowledge logic for the NJT stock since you need to press the acknowledge button AFTER you achieve suppression - the way they had it before the patch was correct since acknowledging a cab signal downgrade and achieving suppression did not need to be done in a particular order to silence the alarm and prevent penalty

This drives me mad on every TSW route. Why does the signal need to be red for no reason, only to instantly change to green when I stop in the station.

Not just that route - The "go via" just before Kirkham & Wesham heading towards Blackpool for example, I know the signal is only red because I haven't gone past the "go via" yet and I don't need to stop because it WILL go green, so I end up slowing down just enough and playing chicken with SPAD's to keep to the timetable. It makes no sense.

Is that not meant to simulate approach control for the slow speed turnout

Dresden - Riesa has also a go via with a red signal behind it, which turns instant green after reaching the go via point. I do not see any need for a go via point anyway.

I would like someone from dtg to explain the point off go via. Some off them are really quite pointless.

I think it's to prevent trains from booking a path too far ahead and potentially interfering with other trains.
