How come every time I drive a service with dynamic weather and I start with 'clear'. Almost every time unless I am between June and August, it doesn't take long for a thick fog to appear, regardless what time it is. Then when the fog pops away I'm left with an overcast that never changes. I've had very few instances where fog hasn't appeared. I don't remember dynamic weather being quite this repetitive before.
It’s because the dynamic weather is terrible in this game. You’re probably best just sticking to your own weather settings.
For me it's currently not fog, but when I start in clear conditions, there's a 100% probability that it will rain after max. 10 minutes. As mortal1234 already noted, I too fell back to setting my own weather and keeping it for the whole run. Better weather is pretty high on my list of things I'd like to see worked on rather sooner than later. Second place even, right behind the passenger system.
If you are on PC and you’re not using the weather app you are missing out. if you aren’t on PC then you have my deepest sympathies that you aren’t able to use mods such as this
If only custom mods could be injected into a sub system like with liveries and CC. Games like Skyrim, Fallout 4 are able to get custom community mods into the game. Why not DTG? So console players could reap the rewards
I think DTG fell in love with volumetric clouds, and maybe went a tad overboard its either fog, fog and rain or fog rain and thunderstorms, thankfully if your on pc you can use TSW Route Annotations live and historic weather feature to fix it.
Snowrunner has mods for all platforms. However, there are a few caveats: 1. Not everything is allowed in mods for consoles, only for PC. 2. Sometimes it takes a long time to certify mods for consoles 3. Some mods like the Real Life Mod are not available on consoles at all because they replace the original files. The weather mod for TSW is a separate app that controls the game's weather model. It will never be available on consoles.
As a weatherhead I will at least defend DTG for implementing Dynamic Weather. Unfortunately it's not very realistic at the moment in it's first iteration but I genuinely believe it's better to get the feature in the game first, then improve it later on. I also accept that most people don't tut at unrealistic changes/conditions as much as people like me. I like the "Live Weather" mod but have had some real issues getting it to work recently. Despite reading the instructions line-by-line several times. I hope DTG introduce something similar, it'll sort a lot of the unrealistic transitions.
