    ---

To conclude the TSW5 Editor, I would like to give you a little preview of a system that I have been working on from time to time over the last few months:

The IBIS [Integrated Onboard Information System]

I have implemented a modular passenger information system in my BR 182 and the Dosto train set. This includes the IBIS controller in each driver's cab, the exterior displays on each car and the locomotive, the interior displays, and the digital screens. I already showed a picture of the screen a few posts ago.

I had also built a component for playing station announcements, but I have now removed it again. My plan is to integrate the DTG announcement system into my system, but we'll see how easy that is.

When operating the controller in the driver's cabs, I mainly followed the ZusiDisplay manual. However, this means I cannot guarantee that it works like in real life. For example, I have not found any reliable sources for entering special destinations.

Edit: For some reason, the forum is failing to embed the YouTube video, so here is the link:

    ---

As the year is coming to an end, I would like to take you on a ride in the cab from Cottbus Central Station to Lübben (Spreewald). The video was recorded in the editor, which is why there are a number of small (and larger) lags. I think that should be clear, but of course it's all still very much work in progress.

In the last few months, I have started to fill a few gaps in the scenery that I still had open and have begun to build the scenary in the section between Lübbenau and Lübben. For several weeks now, I have also had the problem that the Google Maps overlay no longer wants to load satellite tiles. As a result, I have made almost no progress with the scenery in recent weeks. Hopefully, DTG will come up with a good solution for this soon.

In line with the Christmas/winter season, I also took a winter screenshot with a special train:

Merry Christmas!

Absolutely impressing! Do you already have a rough idea of when the first alpha version might be released? I can hardly wait anymore :)

I haven't really thought about it yet. First, I would have to try to cook the route again. I tried it once with the mod manager, but it crashed. Let's see, maybe, without promising too much, I can get the route cooked now, then we could think about a first alpha release.

Hey, any updates? I don't want to bother you, but I've been following your project for a long time and it's one of the few that I can really take seriously. For some reason, there are lots of announcements but nothing gets implemented. This one looks really, really promising.

First of all, thank you for your kind words.
Of course, construction on the line has not stopped. Since the last update, I have been working on several things:

Scenery construction has now progressed on the Lübbenau-Lübben section to about 800 m before Lübben station. Here are a few pictures of the new section:
    img1.jpg
    img_2.jpg

I have also optimized the scenery at the branch from Lübbenau towards Calau:
    img_3.jpg

The DB Regio depot in Cottbus is now also fully signaled and equipped with my new switch signals:
    img_4.jpg

Two EOW areas have also been implemented in the DB Regio depot area. Here is a picture of a control panel in an EOW area:
    img_5.jpg

I have actually managed to successfully cook the route. As a result, I can now test the route directly in the game. However, I noticed that the assets of the Salzburg-Rosenheim and Vorarlberg DLCs are not loaded in the game.
As a result, I am currently trying to replace as many assets from the two DLCs as possible. This includes the overhead line that has been installed so far, which I wanted to replace regardless of the current problem.

Lasst euch Zeit beim bauen. Die Strecke wird definitiv ein Highlight werden!

Hello, I'm once again more than impressed with the progress! I can't say often enough how absolutely perfect your work is. The details are superb. It's also great that the Cottbus depot is depicted so accurately. That has extra value for me, as I worked there for a long time. Take your time with the construction. The route will definitely be a highlight!

The route looks absolutely incredible. It’s really great to see projects of this quality coming from the German community. Having creators working on things like this is fantastic and adds a lot to the scene.

I’d honestly even be willing to pay €40 for something like this. However, it would be a real shame if DTG noticed the project again, decided they wanted to market it themselves, told you to stop talking about it, and then it disappeared for years.

Hopefully that won’t be the case this time.

As I see you also building the branch towards Calau. Will this be a little side branch or go even further towards Senftenberg or Finsterwalde?

I’m thinking about extending the route to include branches from Cottbus to Calau and from Calau to Lübbenau. This would have the advantage that the traffic, which will be rerouted in 2027 due to construction between Cottbus and Lübbenau, would also be drivable by the player. It would also be interesting from an operational standpoint, since the direction of travel has to be changed in Calau.
But as I said, it’s just an idea for now.
Currently, the branch line to Calau that you mentioned leads to a portal. However, I won’t be building the entire RE7 route all the way to Senftenberg. I still have too much work left to do on the map for that.

Construction of the scenery has now progressed almost as far as Schönwalde (Spreewald). Here are a few new screenshots from Lübben (Spreewald) to Lubolz. I unfortunately cannot show any screenshots from Lubolz to Schönwalde (Spreewald) at this time.

The current construction section is between Schönwalde and Brand Tropical Island. As mentioned in the last update, the section from Lubolz to Schönwalde is now complete; the only thing missing there is the Schönwalde station building. The new section is now the part from Schönwalde to Brand Tropical Island. The scenery extends almost to the Brand station, which is currently under construction. A quick statistic: This means that approximately 50 km are now fully completed for the moment, which is about 60% of the route from Cottbus to Königs Wusterhausen.

    Here are a few screenshots:

Apart from that, I sometimes post small screenshot updates on the BPH Discord server, so you can usually see a more current status there before I post it here.

No words needed, what a job! thank you thank you thank you!
Are you planning to release the whole thing soon as an early alpha version or a small demo already? I mean 50km is already quite a lot and you would be releasing the first community route ever.

And just another question, I don't know if something like this is fundamentally doable at all or if that is completely absurd, it's also not supposed to come across as a demand but merely as a small wish/suggestion. In real life, as far as I know, the Stadler KISS from ODEG operates there. Do you think sometime in the distant future there might possibly be a chance for that?

By the way, for a well-made route + a well-made Stadler KISS, I personally would pay 100 euros without batting an eyelash. The problem is that many promising projects that are in contact with Dovetail Games have disappeared from the picture for years (e.g., Cologne Düsseldorf by Folezz) (maybe to possibly eliminate freeware competition?) and it would be a massive shame if the same fate threatens this project. Anyway, I'm looking forward to it, thanks again for your work.

I’ve cooked the route and saved it as a .pak file so I can load it into the game. That means I could release an alpha version. However, I’m not sure yet if I want to release it just yet. I’ve spoken with a few people I’m currently collaborating with on some projects. They advised me that I should probably wait a little longer. But we’ll see. A release right now would also mean that my updated vehicles wouldn’t be included, since they require, for example, the BPH’s Frankfurt-Fulda EEP, which hasn’t been released yet. This includes the BR182, BR147, BR112, BR114, BR442, and the Dostos. That means only the original DTG variants of the vehicles would be available.

The KISS ran from Cottbus via Berlin to the north until the 2022 timetable change. Since I’m building the 2025 version, it’s scheduled to run only on the RE8-Nord line from Schwerin via Berlin Ostbahnhof to BER Airport. But building the vehicles from scratch is not something I could manage (especially on my own). So that’s not an option right now. I think it would even make more sense to build an S-Bahn for the Berlin area, but I don’t have the resources for that either.

But with this project here, you don’t have to worry about DTG (at least for now ;-) ). I’ve never been in contact with DTG about it and currently have no further plans in that regard.
