If it was minor or related to the Trent Valley line I feel like DTG's ambassadors would know about slightly. From the recent videos I've watched from train simulator driver on YouTube recently it seems like DTG has also gone silent with it's ambassadors which is unusual and last time I heard train simulator driver mentioning any communication with DTG it was regarding the ATS's class 90.

Maybe it's not even an announcement and they just haven't had anything confirmed.

I still think the livestream was about trent valley, but apparently something is going very wrong with this DLC

 

We could also say that our forseeable purchases towards DTG are also canceled. Until they figure out what the hell they want to do with their product.

From the start, I was under the impression that the livestream was going to be a preview of a release (Trent Valley?) that may or may not have been ready in time for Thursday, which is probably why they didn’t reveal what it was initially.

If a product isn’t ready, then I’d definitely rather they spend more time polishing it and ironing out bugs than rushing out a release or previewing an unfinished product.

 

What DTG has done with this puzzle is just ridiculous.
The community has had two weeks to write about it and puzzle over it, and now there’s nothing at all.
DTG would be better off just announcing a livestream two or three days beforehand, rather than so long in advance.

And when are the promised updates for May coming? They’re probably hidden behind another puzzle as well.

 

This is a solid comedy, without the need for another purchase

 

People (myself included) have heavily criticised DTG and certain 3rd parties for releasing unfinished work. If this is a result of them slowing down and not releasing regardless of the state it then I’m more than good with this approach

These days they seem better at comedy than actually providing enjoyable content, maybe they should change their business model.

They announced it Thursday and the company was shut down Friday & Monday so in effect they’ve announced it 3 working days prior as you asked for.

 

I hope Running Train comes to consoles someday, because I'll probably abandon TSW altogether.........I've spent about two hours on TSW in the last month. I used to do that in one afternoon.....I'm starting to see it as a bit of a waste of time on PS5 with no optimism for a fix.

 

Even if the original stream subject had to be pulled I do think they should have had a filler in place though, even a fun 4 up challenge or a Q&A session with Matt or someone should have taken its place though. Then we’d never have known anything had been pulled.

The fact they’ve they’ve cancelled it just shows a lack of foresight or imagination.

 

This is what happens when people moan when they don't publish thr schedule for streams so they announce one, but then end up not being able to commit anyway.

Although I do find it funny they were so mysterious about this one but then ended up cancelling it for mysterious reasons.

Can't help but feel in future it would be better for them to just announce streams like a day before when they can guarantee to commit to it, whatever day that may be (unless that would be a weekend, of course)

 

Or have a back up stream ready to go whether that’s a Harry Spad special or other community driven content. Like they used to in the days past.

Maybe the community budget is tighter than in previous years and they can’t afford to do as many streams out of hours, but they could still do prerecorded content I’m sure.

Back in the days of Sam, Nat & JD they frequently managed a weekly stream even when they had nothing new to announce. The question has to be why with more “community” managers they are interacting less than ever with the actual community?

 

I think everything is going to merda.

DTG are becoming a joke right now. If there was any doubt about the mystery subject being ready on time, then whoever is lead PR should not have green lighted Harry’s bubbly announcement. At this point all they’ve done is slap a corporate custard pie in their faces. And to be brutally honest I don’t even really care now what the purpose of the mystery reveal was, just another example of premature exasperation like when they put the Class 104 on the roadmap based on a couple of 3D modeller screendumps and a, “This is what I’m doing”, from the developer.

Anyhow, off to do a bush flight in MSFS 2020.

 

Who cares? Enough still left to play for me, especially since I picked up some stuff in the sale today. The pace will certainly pick back up, until it again reaches 5 releases per month next March.

 

Indeed, no updates and also no news or stream about the new TSG route, what was promised for this month.
Announcing a mystery stream and then cancelling it with no info whatsoever sounds also not really fair.....I don't know what is going on with DTG, but it's not going that well, at least not with communication.

 

Are DTG trying to replicate the real railways by announcing & then cancelling everything? They couldn’t organise the proverbial drink in the local….

I don’t think that’s the Community’s gripe in all honestly…it’s the fact that the left hand doesn't know what the right one is doing at DTG. The ‘marketing’ team really don't know what they're doing in all honesty.

 

I think the counterpoint would be that DTG should wait until they have the finished product, test it and if it works then announce the "mystery" stream. This kind of situation, despite being hilarious just makes them look a bit silly.

 

It makes them look like a bunch of amateur kids trying to run a multi £million business.

 

This is it, right? Rather take time to fix existing stuff and better test new releases than churning out content that isn't good enough. I'm confident that good things are happening behind the scenes rn

While I mostly agree with you, I don't think that it was pulled because they need to put more effort in fixing things, after all they have a fix-list a mile long already which seemingly is getting ignored. I'm sure it's just called "the pile" by now...

 

Im worried about something serious wrong intern. They canceled metro rivivals and now its so quiet around TSW so that can be a serious financial crisis. They communicate noting and what they did was concerning. I hope im wrong but is for me to much coincidence.

 

I think you’ve just said the quiet part out loud, or atleast what many of us are fearing and hoping isn’t true. And if it’s not true then the community needs some real positive communication from those at the top.

 

They are probably very busy with TSW7 and new routes for it. In about 4 months time, we are at the end of September, what is normally the time to release a new game. So no, I don't think this there is a (financial) crisis.

Still doesn't explain why they would cheerily announce a mystery stream, then cancel it. Whatever "it" was, presumably was outside of whatever work is taking place around TSW7 etc.

 

Well this is the fifth time a stream has been delayed, well done doesn’t test games, like bloody hell is it really that hard to have backup people for streams?

 

It wouldn't be as quiet if they hadn't unloaded a barrage of 6 DLC on us in March. That's what, two to three months of releases usually crammed into one month and now they're hopefully busy with a barrage of Bugfixes for all that rushed content.

Just my speculation.

Besides, didn't they say they wanted to push a massive core update and lots of fixes for German content at th end of May? Only two work days left in that month....

Anyway, I learned to care less for TSW after visiting my family last month and taking a load of rail trips while there. Took my notebook with me to play some TSW. Ended up playing what, two hours in total maybe? Played far more with my sister's doggo than TSW.

Also I discovered Final Fantasy VII Remake runs like a charm on my new PC, so I've got plenty better stuff to do than care for TSW these days.

To conclude: forget about TSW, get doggos, they're much more fun and cuddly anyway. And they actually show affection.

 

That's right, it doesn't explain anything about the mystery stream. I even think the stream hadn't anything to do with an already announced product. As said before, maybe something with the GBR license.
