With regard to the mileage issue, it appears the DTL Driver’s Logbook is also only recording the last section of the drive that you load in from the save before completing. Although now my Tier 2 is showing complete even though I’ve only done 354 of the required 402 km…
mastery seems to update very randomly. I did a scenario for which i got Xp but did not count as a scenario. The next day i did another on and after that i had 2 scenarios completed.
I've got a letter from DTG Support : Hi, Thank you for reaching out today, and we are sorry to hear about your troubles with this month's mastery challenges. After a short investigation, we have found the problem and updated the challenge. It should now be possible to complete, and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. Should you experience any further issues, please get in touch and we'll help you troubleshoot. Kind Regards, Chris Player Experience Manager Dovetail Support
I just hope that DTG will test any further 'experimental' challenges they come up with more thoroughly. Lately, most of these new concepts were bugged at first and later fixed (albeit reasonably fast).
Distance recorded from a resumed save has always worked like this, presumably because the distance previously driven doesn't get saved, but you can log it by quitting out to the main menu I believe, same way that distance is still recorded that way even if you SPAD.
https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/dtl-downtime-–-14th-may-2026-8-00-bst.97978/#post-1117506 Mastery progress is saved somewhere 'up to a limit' so if you had planned to do some work on your mastery, there is a risk it won't stick ... Let's hope the maintenance also includes fixes to the mastery system .... Edit: already asked, it's only maintenance.
Completed it by driving the last 100 km with a GBR 802 scenario on ECML and an HST service on GWE. Can't remember when I last completed the mastery this late in the month...
Ironically, I've actually carried on playing a bit this month even after finishing the Mastery, unlike April where I didn't touch TSW for about three weeks.
It will probably all be doable in a couple of days. Which this time doesn't bother me as I'm having too much fun over in MSFS 2020. Neofly is effectively encouraging me to hand fly and land manually without any autopilot or other aids, as I start my pilot career. Quite a sense of gratification when you get the little aircraft down with a V/S of less than 500 fpm!
Not too hard, I guess. Haven't seen collectibles in a while (I believe), so maybe those will be involved.
That's not surprising at all. Another innovative challenge that doesn't work right away, probably will take a few days.
The problem with collectibles is remembering which routes you already strip mined them from. I don’t mind doing the posters etc. on stations but I CBA to start wandering off down the track looking for the more obscure ones. And yes it looks like once again we have another set of Mastery challenges which aren’t working properly! Is anything for this wretched game ever play tested?
DTG Alex dtg_jan morning guys the free roam task is not completing i have done 2 10min Free roam and will not unlock.
I'll probably wait until Thursday, when my new monitor arrives. I hope everything will be fixed by then.
At what point does someone at DTG realise that they should probably test mastery challenges to make sure they actually work...?
It's just the usual DTG testing process, release it on the paying customers and let them report the bugs, much cheaper than in-house testing.
Maybe try spawning on foot in a timetable mode and see if that counts as free roam. Didn’t we have similar challenge few months ago?
Worked for me too. Spawned on foot in timetable mode (on NY-Stamford) and collected some things. Minute challenge popped as well. So probably fixed already
As annoying as some of the masteries are to complete, I tip my virtual hat at whoever comes up with the names for them. Liking the Kobayashi Maru reference this month.
It should by now. I got it by spawning on foot and walking around in timetable mode, doing some collectibles.
80.000xp now is that 80.000 action points if so its borked. I done two runs on cajon pass both worth just over 4.000 ap. And now its saying its completed.
The XP or objectives count in mastery regularly count double or triple my score. Reported it once, but apparently they can't seem to find why this is. Oh well, was going to hit that target anyway. 80k isn't that much.
No, action points and XP aren't the same. A timetable has whatever number of AP for the different medals, but that's not the same number as the XP you get on your profile. I just completed a timetable with just over 4,000 AP, but my profile has gone up by over 12,000 XP.
That's the thing. XP and AP should be the same (and are used interchangeably), but in the mastery challenges it sometimes counts double or triple towards your goal, which is a bug. It does the same with the 'complete x objectives' counters.
Yes I had the same thing last night. Netted a tidy 15k AP with a run from Edinburgh to Glasgow (I reached the “E’s” in my alphabetical playthrough) which then translated to 45k XP on the Mastery. TBH, even after all this time playing I never realised XP was even a thing in TSW - just the AP. Anyhow, it once again makes the challenge far too easy as I can finish it off with one more run on whatever the next route in my list is (plus a couple of ECS moves to finish the 12 timetables). Then back to flying!
I bought NY-Stamford in the PS sale last week and I really enjoy it. Generally not a fan of US content, but this is really good. The route mastery neatly doubles up with the monthly mastery, so I'm mopping up both this week.
And done... that really didn't take long at all. Got to wonder if the 80k XP was intended to be AP but got typoed. That would have made for a bit more of a challenge, matching the 12 timetabled runs.
I've gone back through this thread to check over a year's worth of monthly masteries, and I can only find XP targets. Source please, if you think there was one.
