Good morning. After today's update, when I start the game (after the initial loading screen) my game freezes and I can't start it.
Hello, I am also experiencing this issue having just updated to today’s patch. I was playing the game just before the update was issued to PS4 and was running smoothly (well, about as smoothly as TSW on PS4 is, but that’s a separate discussion). I then downloaded the update, closed the game and reopened it, allowing for the update to install. When I reopened the game, it took nearly 5 minutes to load, then crashed completely. I closed the game and reopened it, hoping to try again, and the same issue occurred. I could hear the background music playing whilst the game was loading as normal, and nothing else seemed out of the ordinary. I also attempted restarting the PS4, but to no avail. Not sure how much this will mean, but the error code I keep getting is CE-34878-0, which after googling was just the general ‘game suddenly stopped’ code. Edit: The only possible way I can now play Train Sim is to redownload TSW5 and all the routes I had on it, which thankfully does not cost extra since I previously bought them, however removed them for storage space.
Same here. Cannot play at all. As soon as it gets to the point where the game is fully loaded it errors out.
Hey all, We are truly sorry the update has caused PS4 players so much trouble. Rest assured, an internal investigate is underway and we are attempting to reproduce the issue on our end so we can get the logs. At this time, we found that deleting the player's saved data can be used as a temporary solution (please backup your data first!). Understandable this is not ideal, so we recommend waiting for the outcome of our investigation if you are not comfortable doing this. We'll be in touch as soon as we can.
The same thing happened here. After the loading screen, when the DTG logo video was about to play, the game freezes. I've tried everything: restarting the PS4, turning it off and on, and the problem persists. I wish I had the money to buy a PS5 to overcome the difficulty of playing my beloved TSW on the PS4, but until that happens, I'll keep playing and suffering along the way with constant freezes and glitches during gameplay.
Or better you can delete your'e game and throw your'e PS4 out of the window LMAO This will fix the problem for sure i think xD
The most reasonable workaround I found was to simply play an older version of the game, which if you have previously owned on PS4, you can redownload for free along with all the routes you originally owned on it, and ironically I found TSW5 actually runs more smooth than TSW6 in most areas…
Exactly what does temporary solution mean, though? Let's say I make the decision to delete my save data. I can load into the game without it crashing and make new data. Does that mean if I shut the game off and come back to it with the new data, it'll crash again? Your solution implies that players having data already there to load makes the game figuratively spit its dummy out and crash?
Go to the PS4 main page. Then go to "settings" and choose "application saved data management." Select "Saved Data in System Storage". Choose either to back up your data to a formatted USB drive or uploaded to your PS+ account. Select the game and go from there. After backing it up, you select the files you want to delete and then select delete and ok to confirm.
PS4 failed to load in the exact same manner with today's 1.32 version installed. Also restarted machine and tried again with the same result.
Hi roadofsteel#5861 sorry to hear this! Have you tried reinstalling the game and rebuilding the PS4 database? https://support.dovetailgames.com/h...To-Manage-Your-Games-Add-ons-on-PlayStation-4 How to Rebuild the PS4 Database: This option is useful for cleaning up the data on your PS4, as it reorganizes everything on the hard drive. Select this option if you are experiencing issues such as game freezes or frame rate drops. Turn off the PS4 system by pressing the power button on the front panel. The power indicator will blink for a few moments before turning off. Once the PS4 system is off, press and hold the power button again. Release it after you hear the second beep: one beep will sound when you first press, and another seven seconds later. Connect the DUALSHOCK 4 with the USB cable and press the PS button on the controller. Select the Rebuild Database option This will scan the drive and create a new database of all content on the system. This operation may take a long time depending on the type and number of data items.
Good morning. I am reporting that, after yesterday's update, TSW6 continues to crash on PS4 after the loading screen. Furthermore, I want to emphasize that recreating the database, cleaning this or that, in short, rarely solves this type of problem; sometimes it seems like a standard protocol message. What really works is for the DTG (Data Transfer Tool) to resolve what needs to be resolved, and unfortunately, we have to wait a long time.
Hi tcmikaelsouza Understand your concerns, but have you tried rebuilding the PS4 database? We've already had a lot of positive feedback from PS4 players, and those with persisting issues have resolved them by rebuilding the PS4 database.
I received the patch yesterday evening and it did the trick, and was quick so I appreciate and acknowledge that, but the question is still how a game-breaking bug like this managed to get past testing of some sort
Rebuilding the database worked. Since I didn't try that before the patch I'm not sure if the patch was needed or not for my particular case. Glad to be back! Thanks Dovetail team.
