For those not on Twitter, Dovetail announced today that the Nintendo Switch version of Wonders of Sodor is coming on June 9th - this Tuesday!

I have it on PS5 already, but I'm definitely picking it up on my Switch 2 so I can take this game anywhere!

Looks ok, graphics inside the engines don't look particularly detailed, but gives promise maybe Train Sim Classic could come to switch at some point as well. Given those graphics aren't particularly demanding either compared to TSW.

It's great to finally see Dovetail release something the community has wanted for so long. Now the focus can shift to new content. If I remember correctly, Dovetail said content production would become a bigger priority after the Switch release. We don't know exactly what they're working on, but it's reasonable to assume they're already developing future additions, whether that's new characters, branch lines, engines, or something else. Hopefully, now that this major milestone is here, we'll start hearing more about what's next.

The screenshots are out and my god it looks horrific on the Switch. I expected it, but I still feel surprised.

The screenshots in the stations look okay, but you can clearly see how low the resolution is. I assume (but can't confirm) FSR or DLSS is being used, which will probably contribute to it.

This is easily the worst screenshot though. The resolution is obviously low, but look at the ground textures.

My only hope is that it'll look better on the Switch 2, assuming the resolution is dynamic or other settings are.

I was led to believe prior to launch, the switch 2 to be a high spec console, and upgrade over the switch that would be similar in performance to a PS4 pro.

Given there are some fantastic well running, well designed games on switch, I'm guessing some of the settings have been set back in those pics?

Curious that only the basic edition shows up on the Nintendo eShop currently and not the Deluxe Edition that includes James.

Deluxe shows for me. Also it is not a Switch 2 release as suggested by the opening post. It’s for standard switch.

The graphics are really quite Low Resolution on the Switch 2 in the the tutorial you can’t even read the name on the Signal Box. If that kind of thing bothers you, save your money.

It’s playable and quite fun. Just don’t expect the graphics quality of the other versions, at least in handheld mode. I haven’t tried it docked.

I was looking on the Android app and that only showed the basic version. You're right that both editions do show in the eShop on the Switch itself.
