Route Wcml Trent Valley: Milton Keynes - Crewe Add-on Feedback Thread

Anyone else noticed that most ai trains are only half on platforms.

 

Seen the same on B2C, presumably the same asset used in both routes.

 

On PC:
What a bizar masterpiece! Its so detailed this route. Study 60fps very stable. I can say one of my favorite routes now!!

 

Are you looking in the correct timetable?

I'll check once I'm finished with my scenario lol.

*Edit. Just checked. The 220 is in the full timetable for me on ps5.

 

There was a WMR Turbostar at Nuneaton, P1 on the Leamington service that had the unit number 790 407, with coach numbers 00000.

After a few moments the departure board in the booking office also broke, showing only services to Leamington or Euston, in bulk.

Game crashed at Litchfield while heading north on an 807 run - blurry textures being heavily present for the first real time.

other than this, the route has been a breath of fresh air. The 807 is a great drive!

The class 807 on the ps5 speed set is not working

 

I have completed my Chinese translation mod and is here to report the stuff that was not properly set up to be localized:

• The ENTIRE reduced timetable cannot be localized. German players might have already seen those.
• The Class 807's Release door buttons on the front have such problem as well

 

Done a full run and back in the new AWC train then returning in the Pendo.

Did notice that the 807 from Crewe to MK with a call at Stafford had no passengers on it and yes texture issues were evident but overall a very enjoyable route.

Having gone through the timetables on my Series X, it's noticeable that you can do an almost full run from Euston to Manchester Piccadilly using London to MK, MK to Crewe and Wilmslow to Picc using headcode 1H65m, something I plan on doing very soon

 

Great game overall. I completed a full run from Milton Keynes to Crewe using the Class 807, but about halfway through the journey the graphics became blurry. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable drive

 

That’s a new thing on Birmingham-Crewe too (PC/Steam) - only started seeing it with the recent patch.

 

Something in the eastern end of DIRFT want some neon vibe.

 

I’m on the PS5 Pro. I did a full run in the Pendolino (Euston to Crewe). I didn’t notice any blurry textures in-cab or passing trains, especially the 350’s.

 

Xbox Series X, full timetable, all layers: Got an out of memory error just as I was pulling into Crew in the Pendolino after a run from Milton Keynes

Aside from that, fantastic route! Hats off to all involved, and hopefully the memory bugs can be squished quickly.

Bright light entering Kilsby Tunnel on down main towards Rugby, like driving towards a very bright light. Persists to almost at first ventilation shaft then the light goes back to normal for tunnel lighting.
Class 350 service 1U25. Has happened twice.

 

Minor blurry textures in cab of 350-4 service 1U25, appeared at Tamworth. Didn't resolve themself. Just on the left hand side and first row of buttons / switches.
Xbox Series X

Edit: Same service. Blurry textures back at Rugely Trent Valley and then with a vegence at Stafford. CTD approaching Crewe.

Full timetable, but not all layers (18/35).

Only service completed has been MK to Wolverton. Seriously considering refunding.

 

PS5 ran 1A75 Crewe to MK non stop.

Class 807 (train lost power twice in the run).

Blurry textures appeared just outside Stafford and never really went away.

Will try a class 390 run at some point.

Did a run in the 390 last night from Crewe to Milton Keynes. Overall very impressive, fair amount of AI traffic and everything looks fairly well modelled. Of course the fact that Crewe, Stafford, Lichfield and Milton already existed will have helped in that respect.

Need to double check today but I think the AWS magnet for CS 3152 (second signal after Crewe on Up Fast) isn’t working. There was an issue with this one and CS 3150 on Birmingham Crewe so it would be a shame if this isn’t working.

 

It the full timetable with everything and it says I own the entire layer but playable services don’t come up

Class 66 4H43 Daventry DRS to Trafford Park; when you start the service, you are placed on DRIFT without a train to drive.

I'm still running reduced timetable, I tried spawning Class 86 + predefined train 11 cars Mk2 and I went from Crewe to Rugby, without noticeable problems with the texture

Then I started testing 350/4, still in reduced timetable, two services, one 1U20 from Crewe to Mielton in Journey mode and the other, I think 1F32 from Stafford to Crewe. In both cases the textures are 100% fine without blurring, it looks like the reduced timetable will probably be fully debugged, I'm looking forward to the possible Freightliner addon, which is still defined in the future in two layers

But I did notice two things in connection with 350/4, I'm not saying it's a bug, but it seemed strange to me. The first is the characteristic sound of the 350 when starting and braking, that chirping sound, I don't know if I'm saying it correctly, but I hope you know. When starting it was quite fine, but when braking it disappeared for a while, or in two cases the sound didn't come out at all.

And the second thing, on both services I got a penalty break and it wasn't always clear to me why. Once it was Stafford, I was stopping at the platform, the signal was red on the way out and even though I was braking and I was going about 18-20mph, I got a penalty break and not exactly before the signals, but about 200 yards before the stopping point, I didn't quite understand that. When arriving at Rugby the signal was yellow on the way in and even though I'm not aware that I was going over the speed limit, I got another penalty break.

And what we didn't understand at all, arriving in Crewe and the first penalty break again before entering the yellow, where I braked smoothly, speed about 50mph (limit 60mph), while the next limit of 20mph was, at least in my opinion, still far enough away ..... and after starting again, below 20mph again penalty break, I really don't understand ......

 

I'm not sure if there's some scenery missing on the Rugby Cement branch, but all the lamp posts are floating in the air.?

 

4H43 is running with tail lamp displayed at the front.

 

can we be assured that this hotfix will not break other things that are completely unrelated?

My two cents: decent route, lots of fun so far. Two minor things though.

1.
Driving from Crewe to Milton Keynes, maybe a mile or so after Stafford there are artifacts (vertical black lines) hanging in the air. on the left-hand side of the track. Looks like part of OHLE but definitely does not belong there.

2.
Have not figured out yet how to set the Class 807 speed control on the PS5 controller. I can select the speed using the square key and power up/down but cannot engage/disengage speed control.

All in all, a solid product from AAS.

 

One thing I'm surprised was omitted and IMHO should be added retrospectively, is a Class 86 and 87 rail tour in both directions, full length of the route. Would a handful of additional services to cater for this have broken the back of the timetable? I know we can spawn a consist in free roam, but that doesn't give any AP or station calling options. The other option, using Scenario Planner, ends up with a fairly empty run as it is pretty much impossible to place more than a few AI trains.

 

You get AP points if you spawn into a timetable on foot. Place your 86/87 down and set your destination.

 

Regarding #2 I would invest in a cheap USB keyboard and just use CTRL and R to activate it and R to increase value or F to decrease value and then you haven't got to faff about by trying to play Twister on the controller in trying to remember the button combos for each thing you need to do. Plus your controller wll love you more for the less wear and tear you are putting it through.

Are you absolutely certain? Well I will try it later on - maybe DTG did a silent update on that issue. In my previous experience, you reach your destination and have to manually exit the run, gaining neither route nor train AP.

 

same on xbox. i think it's a memory issue as i have had 1 service with the 807 where i got the screen working. it's like there's not enough memory to make the screen where you set the speed functional

 

i hear you. i'm personally reluctant to get a keyboard which i only need for speed set on pendo and evero on UK routes (AFB/cruise control on german/US routes is easy with a controller), no matter how cheap they may be, when i have no other use for it

would be easier to just have DTG just make the operation shift+up d pad set the speed on the pendo/evero in the same way this button sets the AFB on some austrian and german trains

 

Seems fine for me on PS5. It's worth noting it's not cruise control, but limiter. You need power.

Press on, then select the speed you want, then select confirm. You can then speed up to the speed you set. (I did find the train needed to be moving in the 1st place for it to work)

(Just a casual user so not a confirmed fix/user guide etc)

 

Yes you get the AP points. You still have to manually exit the run.

 

Hi DTG Alex DTG Jamie - had to rerun the service today. Some screenshots below. Made it a little further, just past the flyover at Rugby then the inevitable happened - another CTD.

I saved the game just before this point and loaded the saved game back in and carried on and managed to pass Rugby.

All 35 layers are installed and selected

For some reason when you route hop at Milton Keynes to WCML south ,you spawn in the middle of nowhere (on checking the minimap it’s like 50 miles to the right of Watford junction ) also no trains spawn on the map at all and Lu and overground are missing from the timetable entirely.

 

Around halfway between rugby and mkc there was a speed board with a 115mu speed but the hud still kept me at 110.

 

Would be nice if other 350 subclasses sub in to other services. At the moment, /4 does Euston to Crewe, /1 and /3 does Euston to Birmingham and /2 does Birmingham to Liverpool.

 

you can do most of that with the controller. With the HUD, all you can do is remove HUD.

 

If you're using a 350, that's normal as it's max permitted speed is 110mph

Pulling out of Crewe and a random crash occurred.

I ran this exact same service again a second time and I received another crash whilst waiting at the red signal.

Has today’s patch 1.031.000 broken something?

One more thing I noticed and that struck as a bit odd. But please, if UK players say it is like that in real life, so be it.
The signalling logic on the three and four track sections often gives "green" signals were they should not be. Even in opposite directions. So, often, you see three greens, say down fast, down slow, and up fast. In Germany, were I live, this would not be the case even in bidirectional operations. No signaller would give a green just to take it back a few minutes later when the next train in the opposite direction is approaching. No green signals are given unless there actually is a train coming, basically.

 

I don’t know if it’s a bug on Service 1S34 Wolverhampton to Glasgow Central I’m playing on PS5 one of the class 390/1 goes on the slow lines after Stafford towards Crewe cause all the other 390 they go on the Fast lines unless there’s another service that goes on the fast lines at that time

 

Probably the mounting bug.

Only thing I could suggest is deleting the class 220 add on and re downloading it

 

Decided to buy against my better judgement, and so far it hasn't been great:
PC/Steam, no mods installed, and my machine is right at the recommended spec.

Training was fine, and it even had a bunch of static stock, which was a nice touch.

Starting service 1A11 in the 807 at Crewe i got a door stuck fault that i had to get out and fix cause the free cam shoots you up over the station canopy as soon as you move it. Ok, fine, but after fixing the door fault i had an unrecoverable traction lock (even after resetting physics).

Restarted the service and all good (other than Crewe being very empty even on full timetable) until about 10 miles out of Stafford i got another traction lock with the game telling me to "raise pantograph" even though a quick visual check shows it is, in fact, already raised. This time a physics reset fixed it, but now i'm like 10 min behind schedule. Uneventful until Stafford when i get a CTD opening the doors at the stop. Maybe being so late overwhelmed the dispatcher? Idk.

Not a great first impression. Really conflicted on whether to refund or see if an update fixes things. Really disappointing cause i have over an hour played and haven't even seen the "new" part of the route yet. Might start a service from MKC and see how that goes.

No blurred textures but that's never really been an issue for me on PC, but lots of stutters due to shader caching.

Doesn't seem like bridge/tunnel reverb has been fixed between Crewe and Stafford, so i guess that part is just a straight-up copy/paste from B-C?

 

I’ve played the class 350 and 805 and 807 Since the last update this afternoon? There’s not been any announce At all every time There’s a now update. It seems to break everything so until dovetail sort this game out i’m never playing on it again oh yeah I forgot to say, I’m playing on PlayStation five
