Where did you find those photos? Dispatcher mode would be really cool - iirc Liam added it in a remaster as a scenario? It would be cool wondering around the station dispatching trains - enter free cam and use a baton. Bonus points for TD/RA buttons, if prototypical
This was said on the roadmap and they also played a dispatcher mode video firefly had done. Apparently they were a bit late to go into the full roadmap. The dispatcher mode looked really cool the way they did it. I think it's only the 375s IIRC
Someone recently suggested rainbows in TSW and I was dead against it. That’s just because of the specific conditions that are required for a rainbow to occur in real life and how bad it would be to see a rainbow where a rainbow could not appear if such a feature was done badly. It’s said that they will appear in the correct place and will be rare so that’s something encouraging about it. Dispatcher mode is like conductor mode in that it isn’t a feature that interests me so I can just ignore it but it seems fair enough for those who want a different way to play. Medway is certainly a route that is packed with features.
This sounds like a really cool feature Do you get to dispatch trains dressed as any of the four main characters in-game?
Verdict out on dispatcher mode, doesn’t quite float my cup of tea. I would much rather we had a signalbox or control centre mini game like SimRail, though of course on quiet routes with little or no late running and no regulation to sort out there could be nothing to do for extended periods of time. For spin off ideas, something like a fully interactive 3D version of the Hellfire bashing game could be fun.
I remember Hellfire I used to play it around the time of MSTS and often thought it would be cool if they were somehow linked. There is someone developing a signal box simulator. I've seen it on Facebook. It features what appears to be a class 119 DMU. The chap from IHH was making one and it seemed to be quite advanced in development but it went quiet some time ago.
I was fortunate enough to be involved in testing an alpha version of that and it was looking very promising, but then it suddenly just went dark.
Well I actually enjoyed the dispatcher scenario on Riviera as it was something different, not sure how often I'll play an actual dispatcher mode though
I still enjoy Hellfire! particularly with a nice stream of ales to sup on whilst going down memory lane
Firefly clearly go above and beyond when it comes to enhancing their content. Fantastic news. If only JT were on the same level.
It's intriguing but it really does depend on how they would implement it, penalties for being late with the tip? One platform assigned or multiple platforms? How would you handle two trains at the same time from an island platform? etc...
It looked good when they showed it off in Monday nights June road-map how well it plays remains to be seen?
Activities like checking doors are closed, tail lamp present etc. aren't currently simulated (as far as I know). You could go through the motions of signalling to the guard and passing the tip, but more would need adding to do it properly.
