Route Wcml Trent Valley: Milton Keynes - Crewe Add-on Feedback Thread

Between Lichfield and Colwich it was on the Down Slow and between Stafford and Crewe it was on the Down Fast

 

Had the same thing on the Down Slow between Lichfield and Stafford. Occasionally on the Down Fast between Stafford and Crewe.

This now is where AABS / DTG can show us how closely they’re listening and if they are get a fix out to sort these issues out.

 

PC Steam, playing on the full timetable with my usual 'baseline' mods (including but not limited to God Mode, Jetwash's lighting mod using the WCMLS settings until such time as he updates it), various train mods I have (including class 350 branding) plus a couple of route-specific mods that have already appeared on TSC.

Really enjoying this route, so much detail and it runs perfectly fine on my Ryzen 7 5800X and 4070 Ti Super; 1440p capped at 50fps, with Nvidia Smooth Motion doubling to an effective 100fps max. After an initial shader caching run of the whole route in an 807 yesterday evening, I did a run from MK to Rugby this lunchtime in a 390 (service 1H12). Pretty smooth running, SM reported 90-100fps for most of the run, just the occasional hitch as a new tile is loaded (par for the course).

The only bug I noticed was the PIS screens inside the 390; while the screens on the outside were correctly showing the next stop (Rugby while I was driving, Stafford after getting to Rugby), I noticed on going back to Free Roam after giving up the service that the screens on the inside all said that the next stop was Milton Keynes Central. I'll have to check if that was mod-related though.

 

Anyone able to get a Holyhead from MK timetable service working on PC? I specifically tried 1D83 but it seems to think it's an AI service on the live map and therefore doesn't allow me to take over when I get in the cab

Just tried my first Class 807 run. 1513 off Milton. Blurrry textures from Nuneaton to Crewe. Very little AI traffic. Out of memory error CTD at Crewe. Speed set is a mystery to me on the unit. Can’t see any noticeable difference to the 805. Think there’s a missing AWS on Down Fast near Colwich.

Thats because there are no route maps as collectibles.

Rugby balls, Narrow boats in bottles, Wheelsets, Hot potatoes and Model Class 807's are the collectables. 200 in total.

I've noticed this too, but although the display changes to 0mph, the 807 maintains speed correctly. On a subsequent speed change, I was able to enter the new speed and it carried on working, showing the speed on the display as long as I didn't switch to an external view.
Interestingly, viewing the map screen maintains the speed set display when you close the map screen and return to cab view.

That said, I LOVE this route, a real gamechanger so thanks to the devs for all their hard work. I'm sure that with a mammoth project like this, a few niggles will slip out. Up to us to let them know in the kindest possible way .

PS5…first full run northbound all the way from MK, crashed at station throat in Crewe.

 

A minor one from me, in the Trent Valley Wayfinding scenario, stopped at the signal approaching Stafford I tabbed the signaller and got a “Train off path” message. Fortunately the signaller cleared and I was able to enter the station and finish.

And now a more major one and first slight disappointment. Started a southbound 350/4 run from Crewe, cab windows open. So far it seems none or very few of the bridges over the line have reverb enabled or if they have, too quiet to notice. Sorry guys but that’s not good enough. Reverb should be standard on all routes now going forward, plus now the Czechs have shown it’s possible, rumble and clatter passing over structures too.

Every shunting job with blue 66 I just dumped at a station nowhere near i need to be.

 

Wow a full 1hour and 10 min service from Milton to crewe not a sole on the train accept the driver lol

In really enjoying this route the only issue I found so far is Service On the class 805 London to Holyhead it’s impossible to start it on timetable you have to go on foot at the start of the service cause it doesn’t spawn inside the train it’s spawns outside the location the head code number 1D83 and one of the class 805 services has 15 carriages. I don’t know if this is normal apart from that it’s a really good route on tow of the services it says it’s only calling at Stafford only when it goes all the way to Milton Keynes1R14 06:52 Blackpool to London Euston and 1R25 07:52 Wrexham General to London Euston and it’s on PS5

 

A few miscellaneous gripes…

If you enter the lifts at Tamworth, you get stuck in the shaft and can’t escape.

‘Formation does not fit’ etc error message for spawning in Class 87s (and potentially any JT Mk3s too)

 

Thanks for that, will add it to the list once I’ve finished my 350 run (plus also want to get a bit of flying done this evening). Sounds like a good one to try in twilight to check out the lighting going into night.

 

I done that job in March with a little mist look so cool.

Immediately after leaving Rugby, slight blurring of textures began to occur, probably again especially on the exterior in the area of the front texture, the black dots from insects began to blur in places until they were lost, in the cabin it was interesting that only the inscription in the white rectangle "Max speed 110 mph" was blurred, otherwise the cabin remained in order. By the way, this happens with practically all 350/4 services in full timetable, although the full operation is not installed and it easily happens even in reduced timetable.

The blurring then remained with minor changes in intensity throughout the entire scenario and was most massive on arrival back to Rugby

One more from me which I know has already come up but worth mentioning again. That catenary wire on the straight sections, also being dead straight instead of zig zagging to even pantograph wear. Once seen, like a bad road accident, you can’t unsee it and the eye is constantly drawn to the view. Not sure what would be entailed to rework it, probably a fair bit of time, but it doesn’t look right and surprised, 1. The route builder didn’t spot it during snagging and 2. None of the QA picked it up.

 

Yea once you see you cant unsee it and it just glares at you.

 

Class 350 services that do London - Crewe and vise versa should be 8 coaches. I have noticed in lots of videos that they use 4 coaches which is realistically incorrect.

 

At Lichfield Trent Valley there is a large tree on the upper lines.

 

1mile south of Lichfield Trent Valley there are tears in the terrain.

 

I like this route but on xbox series x its so blurry the hole route.

 

This large building behind Atherstone station appears to have some texture issues.

 

So Blurry textures (mainly inside Cab as they were noticable, not so much on the outside) but my first on the PS5 in the 350/4 on WCML TV. I drove a full run from Crewe - Milton Keynes. From Stafford onward the blurry textures appeared. I am not really fussed about that but again upon loading another route after I had completed the TVL service and a run on RSN, The PS5 crashed again on the final stages in loading 1W30 London Victoria - Brighton (GATEX 387 service). Its just not funny any more to be honest. I can deal with blurry textures but when you have to wait for nearly ten minutes everytime for the PS5 to load in TSW 6 and then ity crash on you and as well with this the I lose the livestream as well. This is after the patch that was released on Wednesday to fix the crashing. So will report this in the appropiate thread. Will look later today are replicating whether its just a random crash by loading into the same service on BML again.

Had the same issue when I was on my Xbox series s. Loading into WSR in a class 37 and it just went nope. I had just completed TVL, B2C, GWE and on my forth, it was went. I'm just questioning why it happened at the game was running fine until that moment

Waited until now to check if someone else was going to report this.
I play on PC with just basic mods on the engine.ini files.
No matter the service I play all the stations are empty.
The only passengers I can find at the stations are people who disembarked from other trains. There is never a single passenger spawning at the stations, nor waiting for my train to arrive to embark.

Is this something made on purpose for optimizations reasons or is an unexpected behavior?

Playing Environment: PC, Steam
* Scenery: The cables on the high-voltage power lines along the entire route appear thick, and there are multiple places where only the towers stand and the cables are missing.
* When playing with an external camera, the sound is too loud each time the train passes over a joint at a rail switch, which feels unnatural.
* There is no route map at the station. The collectibles this time are five different types, excluding the route map. Therefore, it should always be fixed at every station.

 

I‘m getting an instant CTD after loading on Series X with Service 5M98 (TfW Class 153). Tried it now 4 times and always getting an CTD. It’s the normal timetable.

 

Every job ive done in journey mode its been raining or foggy even snowing. Can't we ever have clear sunny days in journey mode. Whats there fetish with rain and fog.

 

After the CTD on the first run, performance has been much better, but there's just SO many bugs:

PC/Steam; no mods installed

Bridge/Tunnel reverb is absent from the entire route

Random traction locks on the Class 807 that require lowering and re-raising the pantograph to clear. Neutral sections seem to work ok as well as the "pantograph has fallen" train fault, so no idea what's happening in these other circumstances, but it's been multiple times per run.

Keybind conflict in the Class 807 where both the reverser and speed set are bound to d-pad up/down, making either impossible to use that way.

In the Class 807, interacting with the right-side MFD using the A button on controller makes both MFDs go completely blank after returning to normal view. Which sucks cause the center MFD is the speedo!

No onboard announcements on the Class 350/4 on WCMLS (they seem to work on the 807).

Through multiple runs on Crewe-MKC (Full timetable) and WCMLS (2025 Evero full timetable), I've seen ZERO freight and ZERO static stock (e.g. Wembley yard was completely empty).

Sorry, but it's just not good enough for $45 for a route with a recycled section, and two "remixed" trains. I would refund if i hadn't already gone over the 2 hour limit. Gotta hope the inevitably separate Class 70 timetable is an improvement- this one's definitely going back on the shelf for now

 

807 makes weird sounds when accelerating. Ps5.

 

Might already have been mentioned but approaching Nuneaton P6 on the Up Slow there’s a brief section of 30 MPH through some points which immediately goes back to 75 MPH after a few yards. Is this a definition error as there is no advance triangle board and AWS which there should be for a 45 MPH reduction in line speed?

Also continuing up the Trent Valley with the 350/4, I’ve still not noticed any bridge or structure reverb. Has it been omitted or is there an issue with the train audio not picking it up?

 

Bridge and Structure reverb needs to be added as well as a look at the approach controls of a few signals , notably Stafford.

 

Another one on the Up Slow approaching Rugby, there is a reduction to 60 which seems legit, but that also has no advance speed board/AWS.

Speed limiter screen clears when you switch to exterior camera and return to interior camera but the setting remains active

 

just as u leave Stafford up past the Doxey Junction down fast there's some wiring for the overhead missing before u get to the bridge ahead also im on ps5
Edit: there is also some overhead lines missing just outside of crewe towards Stafford.

 

Service: 2U21 0625 (0602 Northampton) to Crewe

Platform: PC/Steam

Unit/loco: 350/4

Issue: A lot of irregular signalling sequences between Tamworth and Colwich and then to Stafford.

Constant double yellow (YY) aspects with no train in front then a green, then back to double yellows.

Completely immersion breaking sadly.

Also approaching Stafford at Whitehouse Junction, a double yellow aspect, then a flashing single yellow aspect signal involved LS3579/LS3581.

Whether its just service as a one off?

 

Xbox Series X. Reduced timetable with 7 of the 9 available layers enabled (other two layers can’t be selected). Timetable service 1U25 played with a Class 350/4. Custom weather (clear). Blurry textures started about 2 miles on the approach to Atherstone. I have also removed all custom liveries in the past to try and help resolve the blurry textures, but makes no difference.

 

PS5 Pro

Then, with every service with 350/4, the acoustic signal randomly fails before the yellow signal, and if the person does not catch it and does not have time to confirm the AWS anyway, a penalty break occurs. This is highly unpleasant and spoils the driving experience.

 

PC - Steam

Unable to spawn the EWS Class 66 and anything that relates to it.

 

Just did a full run northbound in the 807 and got an out of memory error literally just as the doors locked to complete the service.... Don't remember the headcode but it was a Liverpool service selected from journey mode.

Other than that no issues occurred, on Series S reduced timetable (bear in mind I don't have the 805)

 

On the ROG 37 doing the 0N42 is impossible because of the red signal board where if you contact the signaller it just says check switches even though all of them are correct. Ps5.

 

32k AP for a semi fast from Crewe to MKC, really? I know we want to knock Bakerloo and the 1972 stock out of everyone's favourite route/train but this needs a serious nerf - by about 50%!
