i have downloaded so many patches across many AP add ons. Every time there is an update I always needed to redownload all the patches... i am tired of it. Is there anyway or method i can while redownloading the AP add on for updates but also maintaining the patches that i downloaded?
Yes. I use JS Generic Mod Enabler: https://www.moddb.com/downloads/5-jsgme-modenabler Or just restore from backup. John
It depends on if the patches modify/overwrite files that are included in the original pack, if yes then they will be overwriten with the default files when you reinstall the pack. I personally keep all my downloaded patches, mods, etc in a folder so I can quickly reinstall them and still have them in case the original site that hosted the mod gets removed, etc.
The answer was "either - or" not both If you downloaded and installed updates fine but if you then restore a back up it will overwrite to an earlier date Assuming you have made backups
I have a LOT of AP - the whole collection. I only check updates when I am going to use that product. Attempting to keep everything up-to-date is definitely a challenge.
You copy the files from Assets/AP to an external drive Save the Installation Files when you have downloaded them from your AP Account. PLUS The Livery Packs and anything else that comes with them You can still download anything you have bought from AP but it would be the latest version and it might have been updated since you bought it.
i get the copying the ap/asset files to external drive part. the reason why i didnt back up other livery pack was because i fear at times much like the AP stuff they would update at the most random time. but i get why that also too should be backed up. i might give it a sometime depending if the update effects the train itself or not. (or can i technically just copy the train file before install an update, after installing the update i can paste the train files back in?)
