https://x.com/rivetgames/status/2065845422619333063?s=46&t=62BDdIihy5_TNJhY5S1YKQ is this teasing a new route?, I don’t remember that being on any route we currently have but too be fair is quite bad at the moment
This might be teasing the major updates for Fife Circle and other UK routes that was talked about by Matt on the Roadmap stream.
Hopefully any updates are fairly substantial to these routes... Rivet have pulled their socks up recently so anything they have in the pipeline I'd be excited for. Remember there's also the Inter7City HST that was officially confirmed... Updates to include that to the route at some point?
Cameron Bridge already exists so not really sure what they're teasing here. If it was something like an extension to Dundee or Perth then a station en route to there would be more appropriate.
What type of updates. Bringing TSW6 features to their existing routes? Maybe they’re cooking up a new ScotsRail route? What was said?
Matt said on the last Roadmap that there are 3 major updates rolling out this month for a bunch of routes. Starting with UK routes next week.
Fife Circle is on the list for the updates, here the full list: June 16th 2026 TSW6 Core Update [UK Focus] - Includes Class 90 updates, Riviera Line, WCML South, Medway Valley Line, as well as Expert DB BR 145 changes and more. June 23rd 2026 TSW6 Core Update [USA Focus] - Includes Morristown Line, San Bernardino as well as Fife Circle, Edinburgh Glasgow and more. June 30th 2026 TSW6 Core Update [German Focus] - Includes Leipzig Dresden, Frankfurt Fulda, Pfälzische ludwigsbahn, Niddertalbahn, Mittenwaldbahn, Expert BR 101, BR 194 and E94 railtour pack and more.
This will be interesting. I wonder what exactly this update is going to include for Fife Circle and Edinburgh Glasgow. It is a bit of a confusing tease rivet are showing us. Got a feeling it could be to do with the Scottish HST ?. Maybe they are implementing station announcements. Update the 170 sounds that’s been requested for months now and hopefully further improvements to the scenery. Getting rid of the horrible brown ballast would be very welcome .
I'm of the opinion that the Scotrail HST is/was a Skyhook product, since they knew about it in time to leave the layer in the 158 timetable for Fife Circle, but couldn't include the Voyager due to not knowing about it when they made the TT. Plus there's already a precedent set for them making Scotrail varients of trains they already worked on
It looks like a tease for announcements as it removes the need for passengers to read tiny station signs as the train is entering the station. That’s what the caption says to me.
Just curious why is Fife and Glasgow in the USA focused update ? Should it not be in the UK focused update ?
Yeah I imagine this is a teaser for an upcoming update to Fife Circle, as Cameron Bridge came with the Leven extension :p Tbf, an update is well needed for that route! Also wondering what the heck is going on with that Inter7City thing too...
Just remembered how awful the train announcements are currently in Fife Circle. It’s really annoying hearing “The next stop is…………………………. North Queensferry.” Not sure why there is a massive delay in the middle of the train announcements. But that’s something I really hope they manage to address with this upcoming patch.
Cameron Bridge railway station is a ScotRail-operated station in Fife, Scotland, reopened in 2024 as part of the Levenmouth rail link. Isn't it featured as a station in TSW 5 as a station on the Levenmouth Link?
Jivebunny, you didn’t read my question as it doesn’t say it in the first response. I don’t purchase Rivet routes now as their work is atrocious and way off the mark scenerywise. Isn’t it featured as a station in TSW5 as a station on the levenmouth link????
So what other big fixes and changes are people hoping to see ?. This could be a good chance for Rivet to turn this route around. Absolutely not getting my hopes up about it though…. As Sierra Oscar mentioned they have pulled their socks up recently so that is a good sign atleast. Just a little lol.
Riviera was confirmed as being completely developed by them, just for the record. Only the 220 was DTG in that case. Doesn't do anything to redeem their still sub par past releases don't get me wrong, but it does set them at least a promising new standard.
I’m actually routing for Rivet. I hope they turn it around. They’ve always had the ambition to make great routes, it’s just the execution has let them down. Once you spiral into the “untrustworthy” bracket with people it’s hard to mend that relationship. When I look at routes like the Berninaline it shows what Rivet are capable of. By updating their routes, it will definitely win them brownie points for sure.
My guess is it's Station announcements. Possibly scenery upgrades. Hopefully a timetable upgrade....but please not a THIRD Timetable option.
Announcement related. It's doubtful but hopefully they will fix the completely incorrect pronunciation of Cardenden too. Be good if the station screens could also be fixed to show Dunfermline City and Dunfermline Queen Margaret too, rather than just showing Dunfermline twice. As a Dunfermline lad, I really want to love this route, but haven't looked at it in best part of a year.
Im not really a fan of the female voice announcer Rivet decided to use. No disrespect to the lady but it would have been better if they used the real Scotrail train announcer. Forgot her name lol I’m sure someone in here can remind me who her name is again. And please add the iconic “Bing Bong” chime before the announcer speaks. We have it in Medway Valley now. It’s literally the exact same chime.
Hoping for some substantial updates - this route has so so much potential but it feels like a chore playing it.
The 170 sounds need updating hopefully that happens and need a better timetable the route is very quiet even with the new sprinter timetable scenery upgrades to its long overdue an update
I agree. I was watching the TSC version of Fife Circle and the route is pretty busy with trains passing by a lot. Also the Queensferry Crossing can actually be seen perfectly unlike the TSW version so that’s another fix which of course is doubtful to happen but would be nice to see get fixed. Not three poles sticking out the water. Looks horrendous.
Matt mentioned on the May roadmap stream that NY Stamford was heavily worked on by Rivet too. Any hope at the very least this update fixes the 170 running sounds. Also curious as to what the Edinburgh/Glasgow update is as that route is pretty ancient at this point.
Don't get me wrong part of me wants major updates to these routes like everyone else... But let's just pace ourselves before we get ahead of ourselves and end up disappointed by putting our own expectations out there... At a minimum I'd hope for the 170 sounds to be updated and in line with the 171. At very best I'd like to see a bit of a refresh of the route with a more modern and intensive timetable that has places for the Inter7City HST when it's finally released.
To get me back playing either route they’d need to fix the speed markers (I drive without the HUD), scenery, timetables, lighting and daft things like the unit cut in half by shed doors at Haymarket. Both routes feel like Cornwall-era CBA jobs to me, and I rarely find the motivation to drive them. Filed under “5 out of 10, could do better” I’m sorry to say. My hope is they’ve been given the Riviera treatment and remastered - that route shows their potential. Not sure why they’d go to the effort of a remaster unless it’s to entice people to buy a new DLC … maybe this I7C thing? I for one won’t bother buying it unless the routes it runs on are brought up to standard.
I made this post while full of cold forgetting about the station already existing but I did hear there’s a upcoming update for Fife not sure when though anyways gotten better hence only now see this
I really like this route and as others have said, it's the timetable that lets the route down. I do have a modded timetable but sadly this was never extended to Leven.
