Oh dear. I feared as much. This is really becoming endemic now, puts me off buying any route until it gets solved. Shame, as I'm looking forward to this one.
Yeah, let's be honest. We all knew this was going to happen. Their answers weren't very convincing at all. I bet they didn't even test anything on consoles. Also, I don't want to say this but someone at either Dovetail (more likely) or JustTrains are incompetent or liars, because they said they didn't have any reports of blurriness on this route. Last edit: I don't care if it's not feedback, it's important to let everyone know about what kind of company you are Dovetail! I will keep replying even if you keep deleting my post!
hb#8271 I can see that you contiune to post the above message in the feedback thread, despite our ask to please keep it to feedback only. You are free to discuss this topic and share your opinion, but please do so in the appropriate spaces. Thank you.
No reports if no one tested it! TBH I’m still sceptical about what the PC experIence will deliver. Watching the final part of the stream going along to Bickershaw Colliery, the juddering and outright pauses were very evident. We need to keep a close eye on the Feedback thread, which appears to be getting very heavily moderated to shuffle the bad news elsewhere, to take a balance view on purchasing later.
Yeah, they are deleting my messages even when they contain an actual feedback report now! I REALLY DISLIKE Dovetail.
To be fair Jan, it’s still feedback if indirect and the feedback thread is the first place people will look to get a view of whether or not to jump in and buy with both feet on Day One.
Anyway, I'll report this here then: Sorry, why did my last message get deleted? I reported blurry textures on my PS5 by the time I reached Weaver Junction, Crewe to Preston, morning, 86/4, light clouds. Thank you.
If the PS5 is struggling, then my potato PC certainly will. Mind, it’s not surprising, looking at the stream when Matt zoomed in on the grass they seem to have modelled it down to the individual seed ears on every blade or stem. That’s going to kill performance on the best system. I always maintained the sound squelching and stuttering on Shap was down to the insane amount of detailed hi res foliage, now they have added it to Blackpool Branches and this new route. Just because you can make it, doesn’t mean filling every gap with it when people want good FPS driving past at 80 MPH…
I think the problem is that this game is very poorly optimised. In fact, I have found that by opening the "spawn new train" menu, it takes up memory space even when it's closed. This stacks up and if you keep opening and closing it, you'll get a memory crash. It's funny to see, honestly, because I assume it means once a UI is loaded it never really gets unloaded from memory. I don't know where else to report this though. I don't know if it could help with blurriness either.
This message was posted three times, containing no feedback or reports. I removed it to ensure a streamlined feedback thread. The fourth attempt in quick succession to post the above message, as I can see now, does have an additional line reporting blurry textures on PlayStation 5 at the end, but to be fair Vern, at that point I was under the assumption that it would be just the same message again. I'm happy to un-delete that message. We have always been very open about welcoming critique, and instead of permanently removing hb's first message I moved it to the discussion thread (here) so the discussion can continue. Again, no issue with the content of the message, just that it wasn't in the right place, that is all. All the best, Jan
Jan, take a look at my previous message in this thread. It might be something to report to the team if they're not aware.
Fantastic route the coal loading and unloading is terrific fantastic to hear Tom's voice in tutorials well done just trains absolutely worth day 1 purchase
Looking at the feedback report, this is yet another rough launch! I feel especially sorry for Xbox players because at least on PS5 you can actually drive the route even if it's all blurry!
It's not 'all blurry' on PS5 at all. I havent seen any yet and have been playing since it was released.
Well... Guess we must be playing on very different games then! Unless you don't have all the layers active. Because I do. And I'm not the only one having issues either. Maybe you're just lucky! Good for you!
all aboard put in a load of optimisation work, there’s still blurring. JT, who’ve previously avoided blurring for the most part are caught out this time. at this point there’s little any third party can do except wait an eternity for dtg to fix this calamity
That's true of many of the "cool" new features in DTG. Just because you CAN doesn't mean it's a great idea, especially if it hampers performance to be overdetailed. However, on the other side you will get people saying "But I need that level of detail or I don't get my immersion!" Sometimes you can't win.
Did see some light blurs now on the dash during a high speed service with the 86. I have seen worse, but it's there.
What systems/platforms are people using? I see a lot of people mentioning XBox problems. Unfortunately I'm not a "person of the future" so am not out of work yet in order to try it myself =-)
This was my stream Yesterday Morning. I started it at 25 minutes as I was faffing about with bit slol.
