Hello folks, This is the official master feedback thread for the WCML: Crewe - Preston Route AddOn. Please keep all discussions only related to feedback, and provide the game platform you are using in any comments for feedback. Thank you! When providing feedback, please always add the following details if possible: Platform (i.e.: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S) Service/Scenario played when the issue occurred. Repeatability. How often does this issue occur? Images/Videos of the issue occurring. As always, thank you for your feedback. All the best, Jan
On Xbox Series X CTD on first go, loading in screen. Service 1M33 with the class 86/4. Weather- light clouds.
On PS5 Pro Service 1P16 from Crewe to Preston Blurry Textures a few minutes out from stopping at Hartford
Hey folks, I have moved some messages away into the discussion thread, as they didn't contain direct feedback or bug reports. Please remember to keep any kind of discussion in the relevant threads. This makes it easier for us to chase up on your reports and relay them to our development team. Thank you.
Sorry, why did my last message get deleted? I reported blurry textures on my PS5 by the time I reached Weaver Junction, Crewe to Preston, morning, 86/4, light clouds. Thank you.
PS5 Pro Service 1011 Glasgow to Poole in the 86/4. Suffered from Blurry textures not long after leaving Preston. Sometimes they wouldn't appear until the camera was zoomed in and other times they were constant.
Xbox Series X. Out of video memory warning. Crash to desktop. Tried twice. Both times spawning in on foot at Crewe. No other games were running in the background.
Same. It's literally unplayable on the Series X. I've refunded as I'm tired of the constant issues with this game.
PS5 - Game crash Tried to drive 1Z54 Crewe - Glasgow railtour with the 47/3 BR Blue and the game crashed about 10 minutes into the run. Was using cam 3 (external) at the time. Weather cloudy and safety systems active.
Xbox series x: So far I've managed to complete 6P81 in the class 20 and 1S61 in the class 87 and i haven't yet had any crashes of blurry textures. Some stuttering when leaving Crewe which seemed to settle down a bit into the service. I love the transition from countryside to industrial as you're heading past the fiddlers ferry area! I've also managed to spawn on foot at Crewe and load into a class 86 service without any trouble. For people having issues on the Xbox have your tried doing a complete reboot of the console and killing of anything else in the background in quick resume? No idea if that will help but may be worth a try?
Conductor mode doesn't work properly, tried a service with a Pacer on the Newton-le-Willows to Warrington section. No passengers boarding, so no tickets to check. Also, the driver takes off at Earlestown before I could open the doors. Could complete the service, but with 0 points. PS5.
Hello folks, Thank you for your feedback, everyone. I've gathered everything reported here so far. We're sorry to hear about the crashing issues. Could those experiencing crashes please report back and let us know what layers you currently have installed? Thank you.
As played on XSX, all layers except PFT and CL5: The final stop for passenger services does not have a listed "stop at location" time or an "unload passengers" time. This observed on Journey services 1V72 and 1S61, and Timetable services 1V72 and 1M33, all for Class 86. As we can see on 1M33, however, intermediate stops do have "stop at location" and "load passengers" times correctly listed. The effect is to make nonstop Preston-Crewe services essentially untimed. Blurry textures are noted to be present from the default in-cab view that can be seen on passing trains the longer you drive a particular service. Using the external camera, blurry textures can eventually be seen on scenery as well, again dependent on how far along you are with a particular service. I would say that the blurriness is quicker to develop and more noticeable than on Shap. I did not, however, notice any blurriness of in-cab textures while driving. I did experience CTD on final approach to Crewe while driving Journey service 1V72 and also CTD immediately upon starting Journey service 1S61. Upon restarting the game both services worked (luckily I had saved 1V72 just before Crewe anyway). The route layout and timetable is really top-notch. For XSX I would recommend completely restarting the game for every service you want to drive on this route and saving often, until such a time as the CTD issues might be addressed. I would say that this route is so good that it is still worth buying even with these issues, but of course that is a matter for each to decide for themselves.
Ran the same service again once I'd restarted the game and did get further. Made it all the way to Warrington and was about half way down the platform to come to a stop and not only did it crash/freeze, it forced the PS5 to completely shut down. Only difference this time was that I was in the cab of the 47/3. All layers are active on this route (666 services). I had the frame rate counter on during this second run and in quite a lot of places it was in the red. PS5 refused to boot up using the controller and it took several attempts to start it up using the power button on the console.
PS5 Pro Ran service 1A26 in a 86/2 from Preston to Crewe. Blurry textures came when I got to Wigan Springs in cloudy weather. Saved, went out and back in in clear weather. Blurry textures arriving in Crewe. Now running 6P81 in a 47/3 and blurry textures appeared all of a sudden near Newton-le-Willows. No crashes as yet, but compared to Blaxkpool and Preston-Carlisle, optimisation seems to have fallen down unfortunatley I think consoles will never really run this game properly anymore. EDIT: Completed 6P81 now. The blurry textures cleared up around Wigan, and returned approaching Leyland. Then cleared up again arriving in Preston.
Also noted on XSX, the cab announcements are barely audible, even with the "Cab Announcements" slider set to 100%. Of course the problem of cab announcements being very quiet, even at max settings, is something that has previously been noted on other routes as well.
@Trainiac Why would the sections of track be weathered there? Anyone who doesn’t work for the railways should know the following. For example, if you see loose sections of track lying next to a main line, or even if they’re stored somewhere, the tracks are always that rust-coloured – but those are actually new tracks that have never been used. And as soon as such tracks are laid, they become shinier and shinier over time as trains roll over them; those are the tracks that are in use.
Why cant dtg optimise crewe station on any route . Any job that has crewe in it you are guaranteed it will crash. On xbox I have tried a at least 4 jobs now and crashes every time i try and get into crewe. This with 30 layers disabled custom weather to clear and playing in HD with volumetric fog off. It's ruining a really good route. DTG are you gonna sort this out we are fed up of this and rubbish excuses you give us.
We're working on finding a cause and a fix don't worry. Last thing we want is for people not to be able to enjoy our route.
Complete Blur fest from 46 minutes into my stream various services. PS5 Standard Early Access Key Streaming via Playstation From 46 minutes in (or slightly before) services were coming past with blurry textures The first service I was in Arpley sidings waiting time (and the road) for a run to Newton Le Willows empty HEA's. The blurry textures stayed with me for the rest of the stream. Also Low frame rates. All services were run with varying degree of clouds, no rain, no wind. With the FPS counter shown on screen. All listed static stock layers (8 of them) were disabled in the layer selection menu. I have all routes and add ons for TSW on the PS5. All 60 layers were present and active before I disabled 8 of the Static consist layers. Hentis
