Hi all. i recently picked up WCML: Trent Valley and had a few questions regarding layers. 1. I do not own Birmingham Cross City or the WMR and XC 170 DLC. However, i am interested in the 170, but not BCC. I was wondering if BCC is needed to activate the 170 layers in either Trent Valley or Birmingham - Crewe. (reason for question: if you own the 220 but not Birmingham - Crewe, the 220 wont layer onto Trent Valley, i found this out the hard way) 2. Is Midland mainline worth it? Sort of as a stand alone DLC? i’ve had an eye on this route and the 158 would layer on a few other routes of mine, as well as Trent Valley. 3. What does the ROG 37 provide to Trent Valley? it’s only 6$ and was considering it. Is it a waste? Thanks all.
question 1, im not sure, the whole situation with what layers onto what and the requirements is very confusing. question 2, id only get the midland mainline if you’re going to get the 170 pack and the 70, because whilst it’s a nice route that still looks good enough despite being 3 years old, the rolling stock offering isn’t that great so definitely wait for a sale if you’re not getting the 70 as well because that’ll provide a new timetable for mml. question 3, are you referring to the ROG 37?
The ROG 37 layers on to loads of routes: MML, GWE, Goblin, SEHS… it is well worth it for a bit of variety of AI. The steam summer sale is less than a week away so wait for that, it’s usually 50% off.
Personally I don’t like MML, something just seems a bit dead about it to me. Hopefully the new timetable coming with the 70 will breathe some new life into it for me
