    Route Description:

“Traverse out of the Coastal City of Liverpool, and out into the Countryside of North West England featuring classic electric traction, spanning over 20 miles to the WCML station of Wigan North Western”

The Wigan Line is a Railway Line running in the North West of England between the terminus of Liverpool Lime Street to the WCML Station of Wigan North Western

    ROLLING STOCK:

    BR CLASS 319 NT (NEW)

    IMG_3459.jpeg

The BR Class 319 is a highly requested EMU on the British Side of TSW, these EMUs were retired on the Liverpool - Wigan line back in 2020, making this route and era the perfect match to include it.

    BR CLASS 323 NT (REUSED)

    IMG_3348.jpeg

Due to these EMUs running at the same time as the 319, The BR Class 323 returns for this route, doing mostly the same services as the 319, seen before on the Glossop Line and Manchester Airport Commuter, this loco would add some variety to the Route.

    STATIONS:

    LIVERPOOL LIME STREET
    EDGE HILL
    WAVERTREE TECHNOLOGY PARK
    BROAD GREEN
    ROBY
    HUYTON
    PRESCOT
    ECCLESTON PARK
    THATTO HEATH
    ST HELENS CENTRAL
    GARSWOOD
    BRYN
    AND WIGAN NORTH WESTERN

    LAYERS:

AI Layers at Liverpool Lime Street for WCML and Birmingham - Crewe Content (Class 350s and Class 390s)

AI Layers for the Class 390 at Wigan North Western for WCML Traffic.

    THE ROUTE IRL:

    PRICE:

to conclude the price, due to it featuring a new, highly requested EMU, it would probably be the standard £29.99

Bryn is now my local station but I'm on the fence with this one, I'd love to see it in TSW (ideally in the 80s) but I just don't think that Wigan to Liverpool really offers much, unless it was the "mid season" sort of route like Glossop was and priced accordingly.

Freight wise there is the "sand" train to St Helens but that is 60/56 hauled, RHTT is in the hands of MPVs rather than locos. There is at least the GBRF job to Kelbits from Tuebrook which is 66 hauled now that the 60s have gone and also a once daily Seaforth - Hams Hall DB 66 job.

Isn't there freight for the Pilkington Glass in St Helens? Or has that closed?

That's the sand train to St Helens (Ravenhead) but it's a very sporadic one, usually on a Saturday evening when it does run.
