Route Morristown Line New York & Hoboken - Dover - Feedback

In the majority of the route especially on straight sections of track the base of the overhead line equipment changes colour when a few metres away from white to black or vice versa.

Damn, DTG, when did you manage to break the doors on Arrow? If previously only Multilevel doors did not work on low platforms, now none of them work. Freakin bravo!

 

What exactly do you mean? Passengers not loading? Just did a service on the arrow on ps5 and passengers were getting on the train from low platforms.

 

Yes, no one is disembarking and all the people on the low platforms just staring at train. Same bug as with Multilevels.
Previously, in addition to Multilevels, this bug was on the Millburn platform for Arrow. Now either the number of broken platforms has increased, or the doors on the Arrow are not considered open to passengers at all.

 

Is it a bug or a feature that the 607 an 682 timetable services start at Hoboken in electric mode ?

And why do all other services that start at Hoboken in diesel mode have the pantograph up ?

Has someone already made a ticket for this ?

 

I'm pretty sure every single ALP45 service has this issue when playing and selecting a service where the services start with diesel mode and the pantographs up.

Won't be surprised if numerous tickets have been submitted for this issue and DTG chooses to ignore it, hence the update we got today in which DTG didn't even bother updating a single US locomotive or DLC in TSW.

 

The Arrow has door collision that prevents external camera entering it. Is there a good reason for such implementation? I like to operate door controls with the external camera for more immersive play.

MAX1319 and other US beta testers, can you please ensure that there’s no collision on whatever stock is coming in the future if there are door controls that can be manually operated. Thanks!

 

Upgraded tot TSW6 recently and do like this route. I normally don't like USA routes very much.

But I've a question. Why is the Back in the quiver scenario still not fixed? The overhead powerlines at the NJT Meadows complex are still missing. I saw it's was already an issue by release.

DTG, you don't have passengers boarding trains on this route, and your entire "complex" patch is just fences, textures, and other minor stuff?
You didn't forget to fix the huge performance drop between Mount Tabor and Morris Plains, did you?

 

The passengers were confused because that one sign that you had to zoom in to see it said rhode island. Im sure now that its fixed they will be less confused and hopefully board.

 

I was SHOCKED that the passengers-ignoring-Multilevels bug wasn't in the changelog for this patch. Minor graphics tweaks are fine, but this is a fundamental element of a core route's gameplay and it is still broken nine months later?

Also, are we ever going to get a fix for the traction motors in the 46 when coasting?

 

Probably going to be the same answer as to when passenger announcements will get fixed on the ALP45DP...

Playing today after the update, I noticed that there were no in-cab announcements using the ALP46, Morristown edition. I had thought that announcements were only broken on the ALP45. Was I wrong about that, or is this a new bug?

 

I did run with ALP-45DP none boarding to train and no announcements.

I can confirm, not only do the announcements not work on the ALP46, they also don't work on the Arrows, and STILL don't work on the ALP45DP. Only the Morristown Multilevel Announcements work.

Digging through the locomotive properties in the editor, it seems as if a data asset that triggers the announcements was SOMEHOW unlinked when they updated the locomotives (save for the Multilevels) for Morristown, as all of the locomotives affected (including the ALP45DP) are set up for them to work.

 

Great, so once again breaking stuff that was previously working. Most likely never fixed back, lol

 

I mean, in fairness, as the engineer you wouldn't hear these announcements in the cab of a locomotive, and they aren't present on the real-life Arrows, either. The only time you WOULD hear them is in the Cab Car.

 

I've simply concluded that all NJT routes in this game are cursed. If they release a third one, I'll try to avoid it at all costs.

PS5. I spent some time on morristown today after the patch looking in troubled areas. As usual the patch notes were incomplete. The good:
Apl45’s buzzer is working again!!!
At Hoboken the alp45s spawn in diesel mode with panto down!!!
We can now spawn on foot and take over alp45:
- if taking over in electric mode, both electric and diesel modes work
- if taking over in diesel mode, the diesel mode doest work (engines are off) but the electric mode works
The glowing boxes at penn no longer glow.
The Dover area has been updated on ps5 to what pc had for some time.

The bad:
As reported by other players, we lost the announcements on alp46 and the arrow. Like seriously dtg??
The texture in the east river tunnel right before signal 2E05 doesn’t load until you pass it



Hoboken at night looks the same to me as before the patch.



Multilevel emergency brake still doesn’t work.
Passengers don’t load onto multilevels from lower platforms.
The digital destination board at cab end of the multilevels turns into one orange block when zooming out a small distance.
The above are the bugs that should be prioritized for fixing, not a rhode island sign that no one cares about.

 

For the ALPs, my understanding is that the PA system can be set to be heard from the cab of the locos per the video linked at around the 10:00 min mark.

 

Can't believe they broke the onboard announcements lol. They're pretty much inaudible on the new Preston-Crewe route as well.

Kinda seems like maybe the "sound update" that was in the patch notes a couple of weeks ago is overriding the "hear announcements in-cab" setting in the options?

Are the announcements audible in the passenger compartment of the Arrow, or just totally missing?

 

Not sure about the Preston-Crewe route since I don't own it, but on Morristown they're completely missing from all of the locomotives, including the Arrows. Only the Multi-Levels have them.

Ironically, the main issue that was causing the announcements on the ALP45DP to not work WAS in fact fixed in this update, however, as I've stated in a previous post, it's because of a route announcement data asset that wasn't linked to each of the locomotive's RailVehicleAudio assets, despite the Arrows, ALP46, and ALP45DP being set up for the announcements to work.

 

I think you are talking about ALP-46DP its normal if you drive hoboken or exit from hoboken you must in diesel mode because Hoboken terminal copper roof

Below is the RVA for the ALP45DP with the BP_OnboardCompositeAnnouncementControllerComponent selected. On the right is where the Onboard Route Announcement Data SHOULD be linked in order for the announcements to play (the Announcement Controller Component, as well as the CabAnnouncementSpeaker Component was missing before this most recent update, hence why the announcements didn't work initially)

And here is the RVA for the Multilevel Cab Car with it's BP_OnboardCompositeAnnouncementControllerComponent selected, with the Onboard Route Announcement Data linked on the right that makes the announcements play (as the Morristown Multilevels are currently the only piece of NJT rollingstock that have the onboard route announcements)

See what I mean when I say that this fix is as simple as linking a certain data asset?

 

I hope DTG sees the above post and can fix the announcements for all njtransit locos in the upcoming patch or a hot fix.

 

Does anyone know the status of the fix for the ALP45DP and ALP46 traction implementation when coasting?
I saw it was logged internally a couple of months back. Is it even planned to be looked at?
