Hello folks, This is the official master feedback thread for the BNSF GP60M & GP60B Loco AddOn. Please keep all messages only related to feedback, and provide the game platform you are using in any comments for feedback. Thank you! When providing feedback, please always add the following details if possible: Platform (i.e.: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S) Service/Scenario played when the issue occurred. Repeatability. How often does this issue occur? Images/Videos of the issue occurring. As always, thank you for your feedback. All the best, Jan
What is the general quality like for those who bought it? I’m interested but the quality of the Santa Fe pack seemed rather lacklustre, so I’m curious how the GP60 does.
Do we really need a 3rd timetable on cajon pass? What does this bring to the game in terms of gameplay that materially different from other time tables? Do you consider this value for money? Is this a higher quality than the previous loco? NB before I get told to move this to the GD thread, where will you be signing posting me to go next week?
It's funny because we had preview articles and even a preview stream and yet broad-based questions such as these have not been answered. I was waiting to see what others thought before buying because, based on the poor Santa Fe pack, I was hesitant to buy it myself. Most of the ambassador streams showed in-cab drives and did not seem to really dive into textures, substitutions, liveries, timetable details, realism, and so forth. Plus I don't really have the hours and hours necessary to watch both the DTG stream and the ambassadors and find details like this that I am looking for. Perhaps some non-ambassadors will pick this up and help us out. Or else, horror, I might have to spend the money myself!
If you do, be a gem and share your views. After the LOVE show that was the class 90 there’s no way I’m going in without the full facts on a purchase again.
As I am sitting at home with the flu, I decided to buy the loco and distract myself from just feeling LOVE. - And I must say I really like what I saw. The loco itself looks and sounds great* (*I have never heard a real one), it is fun to drive and I really like the new timetable with more stock variation and Metrolink AI, even if it’s static. Performance on PS5 Pro was decent. Frame drops at the hugely populated yards, but no blurred textures. A nice job by HIS in my opinion.
Not sure where to put this but when using the sherman hill locos you dont scored for using safety systems keeps say switch on atc/acses. All like that in the santa fe dlc as well.
Truthfully, it's not bad for American freight content, just plainly middle-of-the-road. It works, its functional, I don't really have any nitpicks outside of some really, really picky things. As far as bugs go... - The text in the Training Center tutorial is chock full of typos and strange nonsensical and rambling phrasing - The bell button goes upwards through the button housing when you press it (GP60M H4 cab) - The PTC display's power light is set to the wrong material on both sides (GP60M H4 cab) - The alerter indicator light is white, when it should be flashing red (both cabs) - The pause menu shows C40-8W rather than GP60M under the locomotive type (did they re-use GE C40-8W physics for an EMD GP60M???) - The engine start button tooltip in the cab only says "Engine" - The brake animation is inverted, currently in-game the pistons move in to apply, and out to release. In reality, the pistons move out to apply, and in to release. The piston acts by pushing on the end of a lever to force the brake pad into the wheel
It does add missing playable Union Pacific services IIRC, so there is that. So there should be a few services that run from the Palmdale Cutoff to Barstow and visa versa.
That sounds potentially bad. There must be a reason why the game “reads” it as a C40 and I suppose repurposed/copied physics builts could be a reason. If the physics are just copied over from a both improper and at this point old loco DLC, that would kill my interest.
yes, I have noticed that too... maybe they have used the C40-8W as the base for the GP60M, which would be pretty disappointing, to be honest even though I loved it anyway, and the DLC itself (the locos and gameplay content) isn't bad at least it's better than the santa fe pack was at release btw, the loco engine and horn sounds are good
I also play on PS5 Pro, I agree, no blurry textures, but the FPS is rather bad, around 30FPS max for the entire route and Victorville even only around 15FPS, there are clouds on the sidings, and even when we tried to turn off the static cars, practically everything remained there. By the way, how does the static AI work on Metrolink? We haven't activated it yet
As the trains are relativley slow, the FPS doesn’t bother me too much. Only around the big yards when it drops to 15, but it recovers fairly well. I haven’t touched the layers and I probably won’t. There are two Metrolink trains static in San Bernardino, One is in a siding as you take the turn into SB after coming from Cajon and the other is sitting in one of the platforms to the right of the station.
Ah, I was intrigued by the formulation of the train's AI being static, it doesn't add up for me somehow
Been quite enjoying this one so far. Just to be honest Cajon Pass is not my favorite route at all so I'm hoping there will be more places to drive it in the future (outside of free roam). Everything in the loco itself seems to work, including the HOTD, which somehow isn't always the case. I like how it sounds but i can't speak to accuracy. The New rolling stock is nice too- we have a pretty decent collection of ATSF/BNSF cars at this point, and presumably Hayden Branch will add some SP into the mix. A couple of bugs that i noticed in addition to those already noted: The accelerometer on the HUD reverses when the loco is in reverse (so it says you're accelerating when you're decelerating)- not a huge deal if you're paying attention but could be disorienting loading into save, etc. I remember this being a bug wayyy back in the day. Needs to be fixed. Alerter sound doesn't play correctly in external camera view. You can hear it if you're close to the lead loco, but not otherwise. I can't see the pressure reading on the EOTD. Not sure if it's not functioning or just a texture/lighting issue. Will check it again under different lighting conditions. Timetable looks decent with quite a few different options to drive locos not from this pack, which i really appreciate. Here's a couple shots from the early morning local from SBD up to the summit. Anyway, despite some bugs, it seems like a step in the right direction for US Freight. I'll also once again make a pitch for HiS to add the expert coupling feature that debuted with the TSG Expert 145. It really adds a lot to freight gameplay imo, especially on these long US freights.
That's new. When I apply the dynamic brake on the H4 in the tutorial, the game crashes to desktop. Great. Now basic functions crash the game. "Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_STACK_OVERFLOW" Apart from that, I'm amazed that there's traffic in the training center tutorials for this pack.
Yeah, but Sherman Hill is pretty old by now, so its should be on sale for a decently low price (At least for PC users)
So far I have made two trips with this locomotive. I remember that all locomotives in the train have the generator, engine, fuel switches set to the on position. In my experience, the switches should be in the off position by default. The steering pin (which indicates the direction of travel) cannot be removed. When the locomotive brake is fully on, when I want to release it, I often close the window (I don't use shortcuts, I like to pull the levers). I really like this add-on, I finally bought something after a long time and I don't regret it. All the information is from the PS5 console. (No blurry textures).
One more thing caught my attention. I don't remember going at the maximum speed from San Bernardino to Summit, these locomotives have excellent performance.
Hello Here are my suggestions: Make the HVAC controls in the H4 cab functional for role-play so that there is a sound for the air conditioning or heating. --- -Make the phone useable, call the dispatcher. --- Make the emergency brake lever on the B-Unit usable. --- Some textures, especially in the cab, appear compressed to the point of creating a strange rendering, such as around the edges of the horn and bell buttons and the speedometer. Here are the bugs I’ve encountered: -In the H2 tutorial, sitting in the seat causes the game to crash with an “access violation” error. -For long trains, if the locomotive’s bell is activated and you switch the camera to the last car (which triggers a loading screen), when you return to the lead locomotive, the bell becomes silent even though it’s still activated.
I thought this too, but also the trains with the GP60 are shorter. I’m not sure if it is 100% accurate though.
