Alternate Discussion Forum Options?

I see 15 members so far.
You can try posting/replying even if the email address isn't confirmed.
I was able to put some threads up and I still didn't get the gmail message.
That'll probably have to wait until tomorrow to sort out.

So far, just the email issue. I think people are holding off posting much as it's new and they aren't sure if they're officially "registered" or not. The system seems to be registering people but just not linking emails for "confirmation" but people can still post.
Also time zones being what they are, it's now after midnight in the UK.
I do hope it becomes a broader community sort of area now that the the General Discussion is thankfully being given a reprieve =-)
Emmy_MAN is really the brainchild behind it. He should get the credit, but he's quite busy with work, family and everything else so it'll take time to get fully built out.
All in due time.
If you have any advice or suggestions, I'd like to hear them.

operator#7940, Yes, I’ve simply set the time zone to match where the forum is hosted.


And a few general points about the new forum.

I got home at 8.00 this morning after my night shift.
I’ll take some time again today to look into why these confirmation emails aren’t being sent to everyone when they register.

As I wrote yesterday, all I really managed to do yesterday was install the forum – which, with my luck, I had to do twice.
I’ve also added the TSW sections to the forum that I think we’ll find useful.

First of all, I’ll look into the issue with the registration confirmation emails today.
You can still register, though.
After that, we’ll add more forum sections, have a look at the style and tweak it, and sort out a few other things that need doing.

 

Emmy_MAN it's been an hour since I signed up but I didn't receive my activation e-mail yet. Is it supposed to last that long? Checked the spam-folder too.

Just registered but like others I haven't received the activation email in my gmail account. Checked all folders including spam.

 

You can still post even while we work on the email issue.
You just won't be able to get post notifications to your email.

Just to add, signed up yesterday and no email confirmation and getting the same banner as Purno pasted. I know you are looking into the matter.

 

Update:
We're at 25 registered members and a bunch have introduced themselves. Working on building content. People should be able to create threads and post even without the email confirmation. Just can't get email notifications if you're watching a thread.
The format is much like the DTG forum initially so I think it's pretty easy to navigate.
Everyone is welcome as long as they behave =-)

I’ve currently disabled email verification.
This means anyone can register at the moment and doesn’t have to wait for an email.

You're approved, just the email isn't.
It's an issue with the forum being worked on.
You can post fine as is.

Yesterday I set it up so that people can register without receiving an email.
