Ever since the tweaked Blackpool Branches dropped, along with the new timetable, I find myself playing this route so much.
Quite often an update/remaster will come out and I'll play that route for a bit and then move on.

I always liked Blackpool Branches but stopped playing a while back as the lack of electrics - albeit in the vicinity of Preston - killed the immersion for me.

But now they are there, I keep going back to this route and I'm working my way through the new timetable.

So it got me thinking, is there an updated/remastered route that you keep going back to since the changes were made?

Not just a play and move on, but a route you have often gone back to do services.

Great Western Express was obviously very impressive and it’s an amazing drive now. West Somerset Railway could have been better I think (probably just because I know the area so well in real life), but it got me back on it regularly.

I think a Northern Trans Pennine remaster would be fantastic - some BR blue action that isn’t just WCML.

Same with Blackpool Branches and GWE just how busy they feel now since the remasters, now as much as I'd want to see the BML get a remaster I definitely wouldn't say no to TVL or NTP getting redone to modern spec and new busier timetables especially if they can utilise rolling stock from Just Trains routes.

I've always liked East Coastway, but I went back to it recently with the new timetable, and I'm really enjoying it again. Definitely seems like a nice slower paced drive, which is sometimes what you want, rather than fast-paced running.

Northern Trans pennine for obvious resons. In case JT ever makes a class 25, this would be the opportunity together with a new timetable.

I went through the updated Blackpool route and I'm convinced its a secret remaster. Its not just the updated timetable (with more to come) but just sooo many visual improvements.

Lets hope NTP gets treated this way next. id never stop playing that.

I hadn't played it for a while as I mentioned in my original post, but I agree, it feels different, it feels like a new route, even though it obviously isn't.

Thanks for reminding me of the Blackpool update! I should really check it out, but haven’t found much time to play recently because the weather is just so brilliant here in Germany.
The WSR, GWE and ECW remaster definitely motivated me to play those routes regularly again. I’ve actually visited all these three places in real life, and the remasters brought the experience a lot closer to the real thing.

The West Somerset remaster is a bit underrated in my opinion. To be precise, it kinda got three big updates. A few years ago, the preservation crew implemented lots of unique layers into the diesel gala timetable (which still holds up quite well overall). Then, we obviously have Liam’s big update that completely transformed the entire route. And the vegetation got further updated around the time the Thomas add-on released.

On a different note, I’m looking forward to the Edinburgh-Glasgow and Fife Circle updates that would be arriving in the coming days. Despite all the criticism these routes have been getting, they are among my most played pieces of content. There’s just something about the Scottish atmosphere and the multitude of detailed stations/interiors. It’s been many years since these routes have gotten substantial updates, and since then, Rivet Games have intensified their relationship with DTG (as well as their quality control), so I really have hope that the remaining big bugs that are stopping many from being able to enjoy these routes will be takes care of.
