For the new Preston - Crewe route. 9F67 Guide Bridge - Ince Moss uses the new Class 47/3 and is a rather short run but it was quite interesting. I was hauling wagons which have neither vacuum or air brakes, so it was a little challenge with how slow the train was to brake. Great that it can be done in under 30 minutes as well.
JT Crewe - Preston 6T72 - Class 20 single loco, long nose leading - Wigan Wallgate to Arpley Old Side - Makes a change from double heading 20's, and nice to drive from Wallgate (Need to lean out of the window though!)
JT Crewe-Preston 1A61 - Carlisle to Euston Good fast run down the length of the line but you'll be caught behind a coal train on its way to fiddlers ferry about half way and depending on your pace earlier you have to deal with constantly changing aspects. You then get to overtake it later at high speed as it comes off the main line!
With the announcement that DTG are going to remove the General discussion threads from the forum, what is going to happen to the awesome services spreadsheets? Are they simply going to move to another part of the forum?

While the thread is still here I've got a suggestion for WCML Trent Valley: 1U31 in the Class 350/4 Euston to Crewe at 11.18 Spoiler The pathing and signalling into Nuneaton make it difficult to arrive exactly on time. I was 2 minutes late which caused the 1F19 Avanti service to Liverpool that stops at Tamworth and Lichfield to be ahead of me and compound my delays with some cautionary signals to deal with between some stations. Even with the bit padding in the timetable between Stafford and Crewe I was 8 minutes late as a result. With my timing I was also able to briefly race the Potteries line service when leaving Stafford
1S89 London euston to Glasgow central on Preston to Crewe, then continue on Preston to Carlisle, class 87. July week 1, set clouds to 50% (dynamic weather off) Spoiler: Spoiler You start at Warrington, taking the train north non-stop as far as preston before continuing to Carlisle calling at Lancaster only. It's a fairly quiet run as far as Preston, and the july setting means you start with a mostly daytime lighting which transitions into twilight by the time you reach Carlisle. You'll have some freight trains between Carlisle and Oxenholme, and incredible lighting around Lune valley and Shap.
Trent Valley 1F22 London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street @ 13:13 in the 390/1 A nice express run to Crewe which turns out to be not so express after all: Spoiler: Run it! It becomes an AWS fest as you get behind a 323 ECS service limited to 90 mph. You eventually get by it after Nuneaton. I wound up passing it with some parallel running through Atherstone. I was a little under 5 minutes late into Crewe. This is truly an amazing route, especially if you like high speed passenger runs and great scenery. I can't wait to see what the class 70 brings to an already excellent timetable.
Hi everyone. I’ve made the decision to not only to get the services up to date but following a few suggestions in the thread, I have combined the sheets in to a single file; This means that all services are now in the same place, you can look for certain locos you might be more interested in driving across multiple routes and Iterations of the game, and going forward the info is easier to manage and update in this format. As before it is read only file and Google Sheets won’t allow us to add a functioning filter but if you are using a PC / Laptop you can add a filter yourself that will not affect the saved sheet. Simply click the cell between ‘A’ & ‘1’ to highlight all the data. Click the ‘Data’ tab, then ‘Create Filter View’. This means you can filter by route, loco, country, etc. If you’re using a mobile / tablet, unfortunately you cannot add a filter but you can use a basic search function. You’ll need to download the Google Sheets app to do this. When the file is open click the 3 dots on the top right, select ‘find and replace’ and it will open a search bar at the top where you type what you are looking for and then can jump to each result of the search using the up and down arrows. It does search all fields so it would pay to be specific in your search. For example if you’re looking for services using the class 66, search ‘BR class 66’ Just as a reminder if you suggesting any Awesome Runs please can you include the following details: •Route •Any specific Timetable •Loco •Service name including head code and start time •Details of why the run is awesome •If you think it’s so good it should be tagged GOAT It would be great to resurrect this thread as it adds a lot of value, there is a lack of TSW6 recommendations so feel free to drop some suggestions in. I’m off on holiday for a couple of weeks from Friday but happy for any feedback / builds. If there are any issues with the sheet, let me know and I will look to fix before I go! Hopefully there’s several to add to the list when I’m back and I intend to update this a couple of times a month going forward. Trent Valley: 1M17 Glasgow Central to London Euston at 19:47 with the 390/1 Lots of AI and lots of adverse signal on this "non stop" run from Crewe to MK. Spoiler: Do it! Crossing over into Rugely, you get stuck behind another 390 running from Manchester Picadilly to Euston that has a few more scheduled stops than you. I love high speed passenger runs and few things beat tilting my way through Trent Valley at 125mph in the Pendolino. Great run on a great route.
Spoiler Dispatcher has caused a delay repay for my passengers here. I was 20 minutes late to MK doing this one! The service you get behind is is 1A77 which I've checked is playable from Nuneaton but is meant to be 13 minutes behind you if you are on time to MK. Part of the issue is I think 1M17 doesn't stop at Crewe in real life but has been made playable to increase the service count as it does stop at MK. So you will always lose a minute or so doing all the correct cab set up especially with safety systems including TASS. The AI version of 1A77 also seems to spawn in well before Nuneaton as you encounter it passing you before Rugeley. So for some reason the dispatcher gets confused and puts 1A77 ahead of you. I also checked that both services are available on All Aboard's WCMLS timetable if you wanted to complete the journey to Euston.
Nice late evening run on GWE:R is 1L92 Swansea - Paddington at 21.02 a non stop service with the HST Fast run down as far as Slough where you catch a 165, then adverse signals all the way to OAC. If running to time you will have to wait outside Slough for a minute or so. Very busy AI passing traffic including some double passes. Play in late June for a twilight departure from Reading
Another nice run on Trent Valley with the 805: 1R14 Blackpool North to London Euston at 06:52. The run is listed as Crewe to Stafford, but it is really Crewe to MK with a stop at Stafford. It starts with a platform wait at Crewe for an incoming 350 to clear. After that there is a nice variety of AI including freight. The platform wait starts you off a little late and then it gets worse . . . Spoiler ... as you get caught behind TFW service M98 on the way into Stafford. You pass this service just before Litchfield Trent Valley. Later you catch an 805 service1R15 ahead of you at Nuneaton.
BR 403 onNürnberg-Ingolltadt. Service 635; 23:29 Bremen to Munchen Spoiler Night run. You are following the ICE 685 from Hamburg and that is an ICE-T with max speed of 230 Expect PZB/LZB action for 80km with even red signals
A nice night run on Cathcart (380 timetable) 5N32 Neilston Turnback Siding to Glasgow Central Spoiler its a quiet ECS move to Glasgow, ending just as the clock strikes midnight.
1V54 on Fife circle with the Voyager 07:06 Markinch to Edinburgh Spoiler normal run to inverkeithing. Following a stopping service from there on into Edinburgh
I had time this weekend to drive the first leg of JT's ‘Branch Line Society’ rail tour on Crewe-Preston. 1Z48 Crewe to Preston Deepdale with the 47/3. Spoiler A fantastic run with plenty of adverse signals and visits to rare sections of track, finishing with a trundle up to Deepdale. Very enjoyable.
I drove the ICE 672 service on the S-Bahn Frankfurt and FTF , the sunrise was pretty good with Route Annotation/Weather mod and also I liked the synchronized departure with another ICE 1 at Frankfurt Hbf too I wanted to recommend it, but I had seen it was already on the list.
I like it when JT sends us through some nooks & crannies of the route. Hopefully do the next leg soon driving the choppers.

I have found another awesome service on GWE 1A74 Plymouth to London Paddington, BR class 43 HST Spoiler Amazing AI throughout the run combined with chasing yellow signal at Slough when you catch up to slower class 166 unit. You then have a long wait at a red signal at West Ealing for the class 166 to be routed on to the slow lines resulting in a late arrival into Paddington
An excellent ECS run on Dresden - Leipzig: S1 317038 at 18:24. I ran it with the Expert 145 on the Expert Timetable. This is a GOAT for me; the dispatcher did not consider my arrival in Dresden a priority! There is enough of a built in delay that taking an extra minute or two to set up the Expert 145 should not matter. If you don't feel fast with the set up, you can use the following for ZDE: 09 18 08 14. Spoiler: Just run it - HUDless preferred! You get put in the hole twice - for freight! The stop at Cossaboude is a 3 way meet. I found this run when I interacted with it running a freight added by the expert timetable: DGS-41357. At the end, you can return to Free Roam, switch ends, and complete the stabling move. I had a reasonable amount of traffic waiting for me to get off the main.
This run is already in the spreadsheet, but I ran into it randomly and enjoyed every minute of it. S-Bahn Vorarlberg with BR193 45854 Amstetten - Wolfurt @ 03:44 If you don't mind very sparse traffic (it's very early in the morning) but want to stretch your PZB fingers, this one is for you. PZB M, brake mode P, 85 BrH, 69 Mbr for 100 km/h maximum speed. You can stay in the loco afterwards for hidden shunting service. In early September, you will have dark night in first part to Feldkirch and pinky dawn once you go through the tunnel there for rest of the journey. Spoiler You follow the early morning S1 the whole way through the map. You will be PZB checked at almost every signal - but they are placed so far apart that you have plenty of time to get to full speed inbetween. Practice braking with electrodynamic brake when seeing the signal in distance - sometimes by cleverly reducing speed, you can avoid the PZB brake curve completely. As you go down the hill, you will start seeing more and more passenger trains entering early services. After you decouple in Wolfurt, you can return to freeroam to continue with shunting move to take the loco to the depot. If you return to freeroam once more, you will be returned to the loco that doesn't have any duties for next 8 hours - ideal occasion to practice shutting the loco fully down.
Preston to Crewe 1S69 from Crewe to Preston, with the class 87 A non-stop service - this must be the Royal Scot - with good AI. I ran it in September.
