I think it's more nostalgia than anything else.

Class 47s and HSTs were everywhere when I was a kid, and I hated both, but now they are almost extinct I miss both.

The 460 is cool, but the 458 has a face only a mother could love.

I do like a 460, but ditto on the 458 looks.

I don’t dislike HST’s in the same way I don’t dislike IET’s but they’re both equally bland in their long distance roles. In game I can certainly enjoy a 43 run on MML & then an 802 run on Riviera, but I couldn’t use either for hours on end like I could a 465 or a 158.

I do get a chuckle out of the whole ‘one handle’ thing though, asif a 3 step brake is some sort of wizardry. In any case the Class 90 will be nice to get in game, hope we get a few more designs of that era.

The 460 does look ugly (although I do like the unique design).

I loved the HST's but the only true livery for me was in it's BR Blue era, I didn't mind it in the IC livery but as for liveries after that in privatisation, nah the HST just wasn't the HST for me then.

Hahaha, yes the 'one-handle EMU' comments are hilarious. Like a second handle makes it rocket science!

Have popcorn ready for when Just Trains drop their class 108.

It's going to be like NTP and TVL for the kiddies all over again. :D

So.... Is the GWR Class 387 coming or not? Or are we waiting until after the Direct?

I don't know what's happening with it, why it hasn't been on any roadmap at all. But its definitely not dead, this was only 10 days ago.[IMG]

Back in 2017 the Class 387 would run between Hayes & Harlington and London Paddington

Interesting, you'd think that the Heathrow Connect and Diesal GWR services would have it covered.

Didn't Heathrow connect and Heathrow express co-exist during that era? Heathrow Express with the 387 being a non stopper?

I thought we already have the 387 in the London Commuter trainset

Liam as the official developer can correct me if I'm wrong here...

But I'm sure it was previously mentioned the 387 pack will cover a few liveries outside of the GWR one and will have layers on other routes (ECW Remastered is one example). So we have the base GWE route to Hayes & Harlington, but there will be one or other routes that bulk this DLC out too.

Yeah I'm sure when the remaster was in development, prior to the GWR 387 announcement that as well as the Heathrow Express inspired livery, there was also a C2C inspired livery that was added before the 387's were removed from the final remaster.

If the C2C inspired one is still being added, then along with the GWR liveried versions it actually makes a 2026 BML more authentic, given some of those units are being used by Southern now, just with Southern locos added to replace the originals.

I suppose a potential reason why we're still waiting for it, is perhaps because they're adding a Great British Railways version to it as well, given we have a 387 painted in that scheme now.

yep, but I'm only saying you'd think Hayes and Harlington had enough services without adding a 387 one in.

    any video evidence?
tried looking it up by youtube's search result is utter garbage and i cant find anything.

Why would they even use a few trains just to shuttle to hayes from paddingtion???
and its not even the heathrow 387... (ik they dont even enter service at the time. But i doubt anybody would be bothered to model and sell a class 332. Let alone we even have any references to even make a model off)

The Hayes Bay shuttle was used as a shakedown for the units on delivery, taking up the paths of the Greenford services to/from Paddington, which were cut back to West Ealing. But if this is the implementation given the time the route is set, an all stations 15 to 20 minute run isn’t going to set the world alight.

Them using the 387’s back then in that small section came down to a mix of staged introduction into the network, relief for rush hour and the fact that they just couldn’t use them any further than Hayes at the time. I think getting the drivers used to the new fleet was another factor.

here in this video go to 4:17 where it shows one pulling into Hayes platform 5
