Route Cornwall Valley Branches

This entire suggestion is based on the concept of Thames Valley Branches, with three individual branch lines you can teleport to.

These three branch lines are;

The St Ives Bay Line (4.25 Miles)
The Falmouth Branch (12 Miles)
The Looe Valley Line (9 Miles)

Penryn
Penmere
Falmouth Town

LOOE VALLEY LINE:

Coombe Junction Halt (limited service)
St Keyne Wishing Well Halt
Causeland
Sandplace
And Looe

ROLLING STOCK:

BR CLASS 150/2 (GWR)



Seen before on West Cornwall Local, Cardiff City Network and Riviera Line, the Class 150/2 is a 2 car DMU built by BREL York between 1986 and 1987

Each Branch Line has a unique charm to it, similar with the Thames Branches;

St Ives Branch;
Features it's pretty and coastal scenery, making for an enjoyable and slow paced experience.

Falmouth Branch;
The unique passing loop at Penryn, and the fastest line speed out of all the branches at 50mph

Looe Valley Line;
It's Unique winding track down to Coombe junction halt, and the use of the token system again, just like Thames Branches.

WHY THIS ROUTE?

after the major success and amazing attention to detail Thames Valley Branches offers, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce a same concept with more scenic Branches, so that scenery is prioritised.

Due to the short nature of the route, the development process of it can be tailored to a lot more features and touches. Just like how Thames Valley Branches was made.

PRICE:

this route will follow the same respectable pricing of £14.99, as seen on Thames Valley Branches, due to the short nature and reused stock.

 

Throw in Gunnislake too for a Day One purchase.

 

I was thinking exactly this, albeit mainly looking at the Looe branch for it's unusual working and reversal at Coombe. Reckon we could get an 80s or 90s version with a slamdoor DMU? I recall some heritage services a few years ago which would allow for additional layers. Would love a GWR tank engine!! St Ives could definitely do with a re-make.

 

Who would make this though? Would WCL be remastered prior? If it was the same stamp it would be a no from me.

 

A third party making it modern day.

 

I'd also like to see the extension of the Riviera.

And Exmouth, too.

 

Isn't the St. Ives branch included as part of West Cornwall Local?
Granted this would see it done much better to a modern standard, and in a different era

 

To be honest I'd like to see it set in a time period that doesn't utilise the 150.

 

For me, a Looe branch would sell it. Throw in a 153 and set in FGW times, brilliant. An additional Exmouth line would be fabulous aswell, which would include one of those freaky 3 car, 3 cab 158s they have down there.

 

Up here in Yorkshire we have some Class 150's that have been frankensteined like that

 

Definitely Exmouth.

 

I'd love to see the mainline expanded too. A Cornwall revisited would be epic, all the branchlines, and a rehaul of the mainline, all in the new engine, with a full Plymouth-Penzance run including Brunel's incredible bridge over the Tamar, like the Fife Circle line. I'd happily pay more to see Cornwall as a whole re-released! Beautiful line. Could be played back to back with the Riviera line too!
