Looks like a whole lot of reused assets on this route from the preview stream, kinda disappointed

Yes not being unkind, but this is the sort of route we would have built in TSC using assets from existing routes and put on the Steam Workshop for free - or if we used a few custom sssets one of the recognised freeware download sites.

This is Bourne End and to be honest looks like something Rivet would make. It just feels cheaply made. Then the second picture attached was from a massive gaping hole at Windsor station which Matt quickly panned away from. This needs more time in the oven. Doesn't look as good quality as mildmay line was.

The Mildmay line also has a few scenery issues like at Windsor but to be honest as long as it’s not visible from the cab it’s not a dealbreaker for me.

Unlike Rivet, if you point out some scenery deficiencies, then l feel sure that Johannes will take it onboard and upgrade them.

I was very interested when this route got announced, and I still am very interested. Whilst the overall scenery impressed me from the preview stream, the overall accuracy of the station assets at Windsor leaves a lot to be desired.
The former station roof is completely wrong, and from positions it looks like the model hasn't been finished. Someone has already pointed the glaring hole on the floor which Matt (I presume) quickly moved away from, these issues shouldn't be ignored in a preview stream.
In addition, one canopy from the former station is missing, and another inaccurate. Even the current station canopy isn't thoroughly accurate either. The footbridge leading from the coach car park to the station platform should have a roof as per real life, but that's not that important.

I'm still looking forward to this route, even if I thought these branches should have been included when GWE first launched. There are positives, the details J has paid close attention to, including the plane on the plinth just outside Windsor is a very nice touch. The railtour are also lovely, and very much appreciated. The overall detailing is fantastic and nicely done.

I will pick this up for sure, it's the first route that has really interested me, so despite the nit picks I have regarding Windsor, this is a route I will enjoy. I'm not trying to be negative, but wanted to share my thoughts and hopefully Johannes may look into a post release improvement.

l feel it is very important that developers of routes that are well known should make the scenery as accurate as possible as mistakes will be highlighted.

l used to watch Just Trains Tom Harrison on his route building videos and was so impressed by his attention to detail.

A preview of TrainSimplay is now available on YouTube.
    Flying cars.
    Stuttering galore.

Putting my cynical hat on, for Steam customers you could probably buy it, try all three routes in both directions and still have time to spare in the two hour refund window.

Did they why it was done as one big timetable and not three separate ones.

Do you have a timecode for the stuttering? Because i can really not remember lots of stuttering except for when Diesel exhausts are very close to the camera. Which is a bug of the particle system and not route dependent :)

I think he's making a pessimistic prediction since it wasn't an issue on the livestream.

Well I've seen a preview stream and it looks quality to me. I don't know the area and I'm not too fussed about things not being 100% outside of the view from the train though. But it looks like one of those relaxing DLCs with lots of nice details. I hope a possible Wherry Lines might have that same rural/leafy vibe.

No stuttering as alluded to above then? I haven't watched a stream of it yet. Will catch one later.

As the user still wasn't able to point out a timestamp with stuttering, it was maybe more a projection than an actual observation. Don't know how it performs on consoles tho as I can only speak about PC experience.

Right, let's give this route a try then.

    It's a small one, at 3.8GB

Always nice people they doing such claimes and when you ask more information not responding. Ignore such people i should say. The livestreams that i have seen are butter smooth and no flying cars or other things he mentioned. A bit childish from him.

Pleased that it arrived on time again on the Microsoft store which is a vast improvement. Hopefully will have installed this later today and will look forward to playing it.

How were they to "look for themselves" yesterday when it wasn't released yet when you made that claim?
Unless you mean the video...at which point they looked already and didn't see the "stuttering" you claimed.
Either way you failed to support your claim.

Looks like fps is hovering around 50-60 the whole time on ps5 so that is good.

Most likely not getting the route though since there has been so many routes coming out in the past few months and i barely even have enough time to play them lol

Any places you've found yourself in particular?
There's the one above and a few others I've seen the previewers point at that you can't even get to without "free look" so I don't consider those a real complaint on my part because if I can't even see it normally from the cab it's not really "game area."
Fife Circle for example has a really weird spot under that iconic bridge, but there's no way you can see it from the tracks and you have to scroll WAY out of the way to get there.
Now if it were right next to the tracks while you're driving, then I'd consider it an error.

I didn’t notice stuttering on that stream but to be fair, I’m not sure how some of those floating buildings, gaps etc have made it through QA? I think if you’re going to mainly play cab pov it’s not noticeable, but exploring around the stations might leave some folks frustrated.

That said, It does look stunning from drivers pov so I will probably buy this today and hope there’s some patches in the near future.

    THAMES VALLEY BRANCHES

    19f8422d55c70-screenshotUrl.jpg

wow, for £14.99 this route certainly packs a punch with its insane foliage detail and attention to detail.

This route runs buttery smooth on the PS5 with no blurry textures or performance issues whatsoever.

The route itself is really gorgeous. The scenery density is certainly up there.

The Class 165 has no major outlining issues either, it's all been good on my end, and due to it being livery designer compatable, you can easily stick a FGW reskin on it, for some proper variety.

Here are a few screenshots and my overall ranking of the route /10

    19f8405583069-screenshotUrl.jpg
    19f8462ba7175-screenshotUrl.jpg
    19f848e05da1-screenshotUrl.jpg
    19f848e1ae671-screenshotUrl.jpg

so let's go over the ranking in aspects /10

    Timetable:

7/10 - lacks proper layers, but the timetable is accurate to real life, so it's solid and not heavily dead.

    Scenery and Detail:

8/10 Wow, some of the scenery and detail this route has, has really blown me away, it is definitely up there with Medway and other Third Party routes in TSW, despite a few hiccups around Windsor and in areas, it isn't 100% perfect, but for 90% of the route, its good.

    Service Variety:

4/10 - this is a fairly low ranking because this is the routes major weakness, there isn't much playability, other than back and forth on three branches, which doesnt mean to say it isn't a bad route.

Overall, im giving Thames valley branches and 8/10.

A small, quiet route, at a fairly decent price.

    Well done Johannes.

Given what the Discord community is saying I think I’ll pass on the route, if I didn't know who made it I would've assumed it was another DTG x Rivet venture scenery-wise

Probably best to watch a steam and make your own mind up.

If I had not purchased some DLC because a certain section of the community rubbished it, I would have missed out on some good stuff.

I'm going through TSTV's video and I'm conflicted, some of the details are nice but overall the scenery just rubs me the wrong way, it's the same foliage and assets used on routes like CCN, that's probably why I'm not a fan

So far I've tried the Windsor Line and about 1 mile past Slough there is a bridge that has shifted in axis and there is a collision with the train bogies...... such a small steel bridge originally double-track

And then we wanted to try the Railtour with the Class 37 and I have to admit, I didn't get it going, even though the brakes showed as allowed so the machine was digging in place and it didn't even start with the set... I don't know what I did wrong... two attempts and nothing

That's odd, I haven't experienced anything like this on my PS5, performance has been incredibly smooth and apart from the odd scenery issue and bug, I haven't seen any flying cars around.

Unless its set in 2050 of course.:)

Maybe you should watch some of the many streams yourself instead of relying on the statement of this forum user who is best ignored.

Very mixed reactions to this one so far. Some people claiming the scenery is fantastic and others that it's "bad rivet" level.

Working now so can't really watch any streams. I'm tempted a bit to buy it tbh.

Not sure if it depends PC versus console but I played on both. IMO the scenery is really good but I'm not familiar with the area. Just comparing the usual scenery from other routes. PC you get better higher settings but IMO Xbox was also good. haven't experience any flurries on xbox series X

Thanks for the info. If scenery is at "very good if you're not local", that's probably good enough for me to have a go on PC.

The scenery seems... ok. I'm on PC. It's not up there with the Czech line or anything but it looks good enough. About par or somewhat above par for currently releasing lines. I've only done one service though so maybe the other branches are nicer looking.

One minor thing that really disappoints me, for a run like this on a DMU, that's exactly when I want to open the windows... The windows don't open (or I couldn't figure out how).

These are just copies of other trains I guess so it must be accurate but I am surprised at how unresponsive. Makes it a little less fun to operate than some more capable trains. On the other hand, it works with with the "TSW Raildriver and Joystick Interface" and a Logitech quadrant and at this point I am not interested in trains that don't work with it because the throttle is just so much more fun and immersive - so this is a DLC I will use. I like it so far anyway. The price seems fair.

I ran into what seemed like a small glitch. I unlocked the doors before inserting master key and setting reverser. The doors then unlocked themselves once I did the key and reverser.

I'm looking forward to diving into this. Has anyone spotted any morning/evening corresponding depot runs on GWE?
