Hello Dovetail Games team, I would like to suggest a major new project for Train Sim World: a complete Île-de-France railway network in Paris. A realistic Paris-region expansion including RER lines (A, B, C, D, E), Transilien lines, TER services in Île-de-France, and some Metro connections would be an incredible addition to the game. Players would love to experience the daily life of millions of commuters: busy stations, suburban areas, underground sections, major Paris stations, realistic announcements, signals, traffic, and authentic SNCF/RATP operations. A large Île-de-France map would offer many possibilities: RER C: Villeneuve-le-Roi, Juvisy, Paris Austerlitz RER A/B/D/E routes Transilien lines from stations like Paris Saint-Lazare, Paris Nord, Paris Est, Paris Montparnasse and Paris Gare de Lyon TER services around the Paris region This would be a unique experience for Train Sim World because Paris has one of the largest and busiest railway networks in the world. Please consider creating a full Île-de-France commuter experience in the future. Many players would love to explore Paris and its suburbs as both drivers and passengers. Thank you for reading my suggestion. Best regards, A Train Sim World player
It's an ambitious suggestion given this would be by far the largest and most complicated release for TSW. I personally would love some traditional French routes and I'd love a section of the Paris RER and/or Transilien network.
It’s not even remotely serious. We’d already have all of London and its suburbs if that sort of thing was possible... That said, I would also love something out of a Parisian terminus. From a technical standpoint, the most realistic options might be Montparnasse (like in Trainz back in the day), Austerlitz, or even Gare de l'Est. But as there are many stations to model plus the scenery, one cannot reasonably expect a very long route, probably something truncated, like the odd La Verrière in Trainz... The icing on the cake is that there won't be a wide variety of rolling stock. Personally, I’d put a nez cassé with a rake of Corail coaches, a Z2N, and that’s it !
We're saying the same thing! "An ambitious suggestion" was my under-stated English way of saying "It's not even remotely serious". It's the similar thing to when we use "courageous" or "audacious" to actually mean "idiotic".
there was once this guy who was working on entirety of London, no idea where that went... probably went insane or sth ))
Yes I know, don't worry. I have read enough of your posts to know that your contributions are measured. I prefer this approach to invectives. British flegm maybe ? Besides, I suspect you wouldn't turn your nose up at a backdated French route... 90's, 80's, or even 70's ? We no longer had anything slamdoors by then, but the rolling stock was damn interesting anyway ! (And I think you know that we still had some DC trains ! As seen in my avatar picture ) Yes, good point — the OP's post made me think of that right away. Wasn't it Johannes, who founded Incredible Trains ? He still treated us to some wonderful things, but at the same time it brings us back to a less ambitious reality...
