That’s the inherent risk of Q&A sessions. People hear one thing and immediately draw far too many conclusions. Every word has to be carefully weighed. If DTG shares too little, it’s a problem but if they share slightly too much, you get issues like this. It’s a delicate balance to maintain. In the end, those Q&A streams are quite complex to handle.

That sounds like something that someone who was planning a leak would say

 

What i find odd is this;

A few weeks ago they were hot on these types of leaks being on the forums, and they would often delete those messages.

However, with the JT and epic games store leaks, they seem to just be watching?

Do they not want to create suspicion that said leaks are true? Do they know its true, and aren't saying anything?


I find it strange.

 

Maybe they have reallocated resources to something more productive.

Probably because it's not really a big leak. Pullup themselves said the next iteration of TSW was being worked on a while back. Pretty much everyone here knows we go through yearly iterations of TSW, so TSW7 was inevitable.

yes but those leaks aren't surprising, the UK route leak was. (even though it may not be the actual route or A route at all) That's mod likely what the poster was referring to when he was saying he was surprised it wasn't removed.

 

I personally don’t think the Leeds route is the main route. It’s clearly being worked on, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it supplements TSW7 rather than launches as its flagship main route. I still hold out something for South Western or a remastered London to Brighton

 

True, it's not a very flagshippy route.

 

That makes sense to me too - none of the three routes that were briefly exposed in the editor config seemed particularly “flagship” to me, but I could see them as interesting DLCs in their own right, post TSW7.

Part of me thinks they may even have been “leaked” deliberately to gauge reaction, but then again a simple poll would make more sense there

More Nothern is very welcome, I'm really hoping on a Class 195. That train is very good looking, diesel and I like the Nothern color scheme. The Northern territory is also one of the most beautiful parts of the UK in my opinion.

 

Could be they are switching tactic on what the game will launch with. Chances are that any mainline will be a blurfest for many users, gotta wonder where the wider community stands on that issue. It’s certainly become a widespread discussion outside of the forum over the last year.

That said, I doubt the 158 will be a launch release, unless TSW is now in its end stages. Be very odd for third party content to be bundled.

 

The Leeds route (assuming it's the one speculated) feels very much like it may be ATS' next route and unrelated to the Core. It's a very ATS-type route to make, if that makes any sense.

Unfortunately Dovetail have been so quiet on the release front it's plausible that it could be the core route, but I doubt it.

P.S. Would anyone be so kind as to tell what the other two leaked routes were? I'm curious.

 

This seems like a pretty safe solution.
Continuing with the previous approach seems rather impractical.
That said, the situation could actually get worse if they proceeded without any logic.

By this time last year, they had already announced TSW6, admitting there wasn't much point in trying to drum up suspense. I can't help wondering if the reason nothing is official yet this year is due to a combination of too many people still using gen 8 to make dropping it viable, and then trying to fit any new features into already crowded resources or deciding what to leave out. It's got to be quite the juggling act by this point.

However, and I repeat this for the millionth time, I don't see why the fate of the current TSW should be its immediate "wiping off the face of the earth" if something different were to happen (even).

 

Hey Alex, Any plans for a British locomotive for this year potentially being the Intercity 225? would be a great add on for the ECML Peterborough - Doncaster That route could do with some diversity

 

I mean if that route is coming to the game then they may aswell extend the ECML Peterborough to Doncaster up to Leeds maybe including LNER services to skipton and bradford forster square
