This looks really good! But I do hope the Köln-Aachen 442 hasn't been used for the S-Bahn services.

The article says this is the first 300 Km/h route in TSW but the first 300 Km/h route in TSW was actually LGV Marseille - Avignon, where you can reach 320 Km/h.

So am I right in thinking you only get the ice 3 and 101 with this route.

TSG always make good stuff, but I find driving the ICE trains so boring tbh.

How many expert 101 services are there? It was a little unclear from the article.

$40 for an A-B route with no new rolling stock is a tough sell these days IMO. It mentions PIS updates for the 403, but what about announcements? Or does it already have them? So hard to keep track at this point

In the article it also mentions that you need SKA to activate the S-Bahn layers. So your assumption that this will be the 442 from SKA seems correct.

Route hopping to other routes? But...there are currently no other routes that feature Nurnburg or Ingolstadt?

Could this hint at the german route for TSW7?

Especially intrigued by the new faults of the 403. the article specifically mentions that they are not part of the DTG fault system, but expert faults! Absolutely fantastic and something I would not have expected. Really looking forward to this. New sounds is another bonus, all in all a pretty solid package, I would say… for me at least!

I can already see it being a cheap route hop to munich or Würzburg.

Maybe TSW 7 core route Würzburg-Nürnberg with DB Desiro HC?

Otherwise its great to see this route to release as a full on dlc after starting as an editor project.
Also it doesnt seem like the scenery had to be reduced for performance etc. so it also looks incredible.

Yes this seems to go against the manifesto of having less layering routes for better performance. And when are we going to stop trotting out tired, old SKA?

However, perhaps the answer is that this 442 is so old that it doesn't have suspension, announcements or other performance hits. Hopefully they'll speak to this on the stream.

The Dresden - Leipzig 442 has more of those new features, so would make more sense, but for the VVO white stripe which I guess is too different.

It’s sold as a “unique selling point”, but the biggest problem is that it’s boring to drive. AFB and LZB and just waiting until you get to either Ingolstadt or Nuremberg.

I can tell by the looks of it, this route is going to be top-notch. 300 km/h for a railway? Insane speed!

I think this one is aimed at Expert owners. The failures usually find a way to keep you busy. Also the reason they included extra failures in the stock that comes with the route.

Thats more of a you problem tbh. I find nothing "boring" about 300km/h runs and just becaue LZB exists doesnt mean you can lay back and do nothing.

I know it is not the full Expert experience (if you don't own the Expert DLCs). Just saying I think this DLC was made with (101)Expert owners in mind. KWG only had 1 stop, so this one should feel like an improvement.

Adding a few extra failures to the stock that comes with the route obviously doesn't make it expert level stock, but helps keeping you busy and gives a bit more variety to each run because, as you said, ICE runs start to end can become boring very soon.

oh no!!! Not that horrible thing..That's definitley brought down the likelihood of me buying it. Since it doesn't actually come with the route, I'm guessing it won't have any updates.

I do get it's not the biggest part of the route but come.one.

don't forget the Cab-Car doesn't have AFB which can make LZB fun and engaging for those who don't usually think so

I also mentioned in the other topic that I find the RE1 services the most challenging. The ICE is fun, but much less appealing.
If I end up buying it, that will be what convinced me.

Same here. If I buy it it will be for the RE1 and the Expert 101 services. Not for the ICE services.

Still, I heard LGV and other high speed routes are at the top of the list of most played routes. Not my cup of tea, but probably what catches the attention of new players first.

I’m really curious about the route and what it looks like as well. This route was made by the creator Pilot***, (i don't know his full username) at least, I thought he was active here on the forum and showed some of the project, and it already looked very promising back then. So surprise me tomorrow!

I really don’t think much of that SKA 442 – it’s ruining the whole DLC yet again.
Why include such a poor 442 in the DLC when you could have a better one from Dresden–Leipzig?
I don’t really quite understand it.

    Marketing?
The routes (dlc) in 2026 should be packaged like MITTENWALDBAHN, where all rolling stock has the expected functionality.

Hmm, you seem to be right. Looks like they use a 1440 (not gonna happen), or before that, a 143 or 111 with n-Wagen.

I'm fed up with this mix of trains with advanced features and others that are completely obsolete (5-6-7 years old)
    and which are never updated.
Perhaps they don't realize how much this completely ruins the immersive experience.
I'm saving my money for beer.

looking at the article, the ICE3 has actually had a lot of changes to it. Including new acceleration and running sounds.

    a few more changes listed are here, posted by a dev on discord;

    - Redone traction and electric brake tuning
    - Redone air brake tuning
    - Redone eddy current brake (WB) tuning to match prototype
    - Made the "Zugbremsmanager" (train brake manager, basically the whole train computer for braking) simulation from scratch to allow prototypical behaviour if WB is enabled in service braking (WB BB) or only in emergency braking.
    - Added the train brake mode button and logic that interacts with the zugbremsmanager. You can click on the train brake button knob to switch brake mode:
    - Normal mode (prioritizes electric braking, then WB if allowed, then air braking)
    - Proportional mode: uses equal electric braking and WB (if allowed, otherwise air brake). This mode is used for example if it is raining/low adhesion.
    - Wheel cleaning brake mode: air only, only usable above 40 km/h
    - Buffer stop mode: same but only used below 40/50 km/h.
    - Redone the electrical simulation to simulate the high voltage bus with isolator between the two transformer cars. Low voltage bus to power the traction converters adjacent to the transformer car (EW and SW) as well as ASG control of the WB (if you lose the ASG in the end car for example the transformer car loses its WB).
    - Added some simulation of the safety loops (schleife)
    - Improved AFB simulation as well as coupler mode.
    - added air suspension simulation in simugraph.
    - added formation amperage limit simulation that is automatically changed if entering LZB (will increase the limit to 1500 A on certain SFS, otherwise 900 A) but you can also manually decrease this if not in LZB Ü. Quite funky to drive around with a limit of 200KPH (A, sorry, for some reason I cant edit that)

So yeah, while it may be a Reused loco, it certainly isnt a copy paste like some other routes.

these were from Discord by someone working on the route.

ICE 3 yes, but not the others (I mean the layers).
Either we move towards uniformity or it becomes a farce.
How do you (in general) pull a train when the locomotive has active suspension but the rear-coupled carriages don't (or vice versa)?
Furthermore, trains for the levels are connected to routes which are themselves completely obsolete.
Ultimately, I don't understand the evolution of the franchise if I'm then forced to use items that have nothing evolutionary about them.

Are we sure that at least the trains on this route have active suspension?
Or are we at the level of the BR 101 EXPERT, where (for some reason) only the driver's cab has it, unlike the carriages and the locomotive?
I'm so disgusted by this feature, implemented only halfway through the 101 EXPERT, that I've PERMANENTLY deleted it from my Steam account.

This really changes whether I’m willing to pay for it or not. I’d much rather hear this kind of information in the official release statement than through some roundabout way from the creators. To me, that’s a huge missed opportunity. I don’t care about that nonsense marketing talk anyway the right information is what matter and it will decides to buy or not. Thanks a lot for sharing!!!

We’re clearly not getting this from DTG. Great job, DTG!!

It probably wouldn't add much value. It's not dedicated high speed rail: the first part is regular track (up to 160 kph), the second part is upgraded to 200kph.

    Have patience :)
As with basically all the third party products I've been involved with (I did the Simugraph and setup for the vehicles that are included with this route) as well as some I only did contracting for I like to give clarifications and more detailed information to players which is not always that easy to convey by DTG because they obviously aren't as intricately familiar with the locomotives as I am, being the one who designed the logic and physics. Please don't blame DTG for this, if anything it is I who failed in the communication to DTG :)

In any case, I can confirm what MrSouthernDriver wrote (that was quoted from my comment on Discord).
To summarize, the ICE3 that comes with SFS Nürnberg-Ingolstadt has been extensively modified in terms of physics/simulation logic, audio and screen design. I hope people will enjoy driving it :D

I would expect the newly supplied 101 to have suspension, however, would not expect the expert 101 to have been upgraded to this yet. Still, for me, even though I love this feature on other locos, I am not driving the expert 101 for this, but am looking forward to the expert features itself on anew route.

Just to give you an explanation, though, as this was actually explained by the devs: The expert 101 did get this feature internally, together with the cab car, however, the advanced physics caused havoc in certain instances. This was recently fixed with the 145 and I do hope that this feature will find its way into the 101 as well eventually.

Okay, I get your point but let’s be clear: if you want to sell something, you need to present it in a way that actually convinces buyers, right? I’d say it would’ve been a small effort for DTG to check with you about what exactly was done. And sure, you can’t reach everyone with that it’s a bit technical but you do want to convince my part of the audience as well, don’t you? It’s not always a case of ‘the hardcore fans will buy it anyway’.

And promoting it by saying you can drive 300 km/h isn’t exactly convincing marketing. But anyway, sales don’t seem to be doing that well either I heard in the Q&A that several addons performed poorly. Not surprising, with such mediocre promotional blogs. Advertising with the right information can make or break a product. The same goes for the quality of what you deliver and on that front, I’m not worried about you. TSG is always fantastic when it comes to quality, to end on a positive note.”

Thanks for the info- I'm leaning towards buying this now.

Will there be any services for the expert 145 on this route? I really enjoy that one, even more than the expert 101.

With this sentence you are implying that all users that are still buying this stuff for TSW are stupid (as those who are not, are not stupid for not buying it)…

I think you are the best example for others to accept that everyone is looking for different stuff in a „game“. You said earlier that you have deleted the expert 101 as it does not have suspension. Something I personally don’t understand what so ever, however, I have accepted this and have not called you stupid either. I even tried to be constructive and give some context for you…

On the other hand, I do not consider myself stupid for buying and enjoying stuff you obviously don’t! Please do consider what you say on public forums! Criticism is fine but pls without insulting others…

so if driving 101, I can still choose OG 101, but cab car will always be expert (cos I really cant be bothered to run into options every time I want to drive the route)?

damn, sounds like I will need to keep my phone with manual and spreadsheet for calculating BrH handy :D ... or just drive other trains/locos before I dust off my expert driving :D
