    but with the wrong track . . . third rail?

    A free steam era route covering the whole island is available, I believe the latest version can be downloaded via the "Britain's Lost Routes" Facebook page. I don't think they have a web site as such.

    It could be in 1966 when the electrification was underway but not commissioned.

    Exactly 2 O2 tank engines was kept on to do the electrification work so its not out of the question and one O2 That was kept was the one preserved 24 Calbourne

    Fair enough, it was only a leg-pull. Although in fact no service was operated while electrification was in progress, I believe anybody should do what they want. But I would still recommend using the steam-era route, it covers the whole island. Some period coaching stock comes with that route, aswell.

    It is a great loco, too, it drives nicely.
