    Class 91 + Mk4/DVT — InterCity 225
    upload_2026-8-7_13-47-43.jpeg

    Why this would be a great addition to Train Sim World

    The British Rail Class 91 and Mk4 coaches would be an excellent addition to Train Sim World, especially for a future East Coast Main Line route.

    The InterCity 225 is one of the most iconic trains to have operated on the UK railway network. With its distinctive design, high-speed running and unique push-pull operation with the Driving Van Trailer (DVT), it would bring something completely new to TSW.

    Possible route

    A new ECML route could include:

    London King’s Cross → Peterborough
    or
    Doncaster → Newcastle

    The Class 91 could operate alongside modern LNER services such as the Class 800/801, creating a great contrast between classic and modern ECML operations.

    Features I would love to see

    * Fully functional Class 91 + Mk4 coach set + DVT
    * Realistic push-pull operation
    * Cab changes at the end of the service
    * High-speed running up to 125 mph
    * Authentic traction motor and compressor sounds
    * Dynamic braking and realistic performance
    * Multiple liveries, such as:
    * LNER Coke can livery
    *
    * LNER 2022+ livery (Oxblood)

    Locomotives
    * 91119 Classic intercity sallow livery ( Bounds Green)
    *
    91105 National Railway Museum 50 years ( only if date is set 2025-present)
    * 91110 Battle of Britain
    * 91111 for the Fallen
    * 91114 Durham cathedral ( In classic Coke can livery if date is 2019 -2022 ) if not the badge can remain on the loco.
    * 91101 Flying scotsman ( In classic coke can livery if date is 2019-2022) if not badge can remain on loco.

    Ideal this should be set around 2019-present as they can run alongside the azumas.

    This has been a highly requested Locomotive and I would love to see it in TSW7

    Agreed.
    I could see ATS doing it because of the fixes he eventually made to the Class 90.

    Suggested by many. Hopefully DTG will listen to the masses. I’d love to this come. Day one purchase.

    What if the TSW7 core route is London to Peterborough, with a class 91? Just an idea

    A load of people want to see London - Peterborough as a route in TSW, myself included, but I just can't see it happening due to the business of the ECML South of Peterborough and the fact that London to Peterborough is 90 miles long.

    If it did happen, there would almost definately be stuff missing or - to quote DC 4260 Productions - DTG would pull a Shearness by emitting the loop line via Hertfood and the Mooragte branch, if DTG included those lines, the route would would almost definately be cut at Stevenage, since a couple of LNER's services stop there.

    Other stuff that could be missed are other operaters like Lumo and Grand Central. If Great Northern was emitted, that would be a genuine issue as they're the main regional service operater of the ECML.

    If the ECML to Peterborough, Moorgate branch and Herford loop were all included, as nice and complete feeling as that would be, we'd likely run into issues that plagued WCML Birmingham to Crewe and Crewe to Preston *starring at consoles*

    Your idea isn't bad at all, I'm completely on board with it but given that I'd say it's in the top 3 most requested routes in the game, and if DTG actually look at what people suggest, I think we would have got the route by now.

    If DTG did what they did with the Class 390, 350, and 801 (emmit special interest liveries) with the 91, they would rightly not hear the end of it.

    Most requested BR loco? It's certainly up there with its grandfather, the Deltic. I'd love both.

    So many suggestions come back to the ECML. I hope DTG tap-in to the interest in Britain's premier mainline.

    You could easily replicate GC services with debranded black and orange Voyagers, call it "Great Central" or "Grand Northern" and I'd be happy.

    What would be great is if we got the current section extended up to Leeds and York (possibly with the line from Leeds to York via Church Fenton thrown in) with the 225 as Deluxe Loco with possibly a Hull Trains 802 and GC Voyager (unbranded if needed) add-ons later (obviously the latter would need to be given fictional stops at Peterborough)

    ECML is a boring stretch of line, the current stretch in TSW amounts to start your train, go make lunch, come back and stop.
    They even double dipped and released the Flying Scotsman DLC.

    DTG already have 3/4 of the GTR operators. I'm sure Great Northern wouldn't be an issue. The logo is also available on CC.

    Yeah I was thinking that we could eventually get a 91 to the game if they made the class 90

    It’s because it’s a boring section of the ECML and there is only one train which is the class 801 Meaning theres no fleet diversity but if the London to Peterborough route is added or even Doncaster to Leeds we can get a 91 and have drivable commuter services

    The main problem is that it's a section without many stations, and then you don't get a local service along the whole of the route. Routes with more stations give you more variety of service, and more landmarks to pass by when you are driving an express.

    Not Going To Lie Doncaster To Leeds Should Be In The 80s With Deltics And 125s So It Could Route Hop With Northern Trans Pennine

    If I wasn’t so keen on the 91 I’d suggest Newcastle to Edinburgh. I feel there are so many good landmarks up at this end.

    There is a lot of seaside running on that stretch, which would be cool.

    It could be in a 2018/2019 era where 91 run along with azumas

    I think I'm leaning towards the Newcastle to Edinburgh section over KX to Peterborough. We've already got two main intercity lines coming out of London terminals, and I think the northern route has a lot to offer, particularly the scenery.

    The 380 and 385 could settle in on the North Berwick services (that short branch should be an inclusion), the Voyager and Azumas could appear. Default stock could be a 91 and a northern 158, and the deluxe could be a TPX unit.

    Nothing wrong with that, my point was that your bizarre habit of putting a capital letter on every single word makes a wall of text even harder to read.

    You've been told before that it makes it difficult to read, and I'm saying the same thing now. You were also given some good advice about how it makes you appear.

    You're not writing for yourself, you're writing for others to read. So, please, just stop capitalising every word; it's weird.
