What other engines do you think will come with the dlc? And what era is this dlc I wonder.

While we might hear something today, I'm thinking that it might be '80's or '90's, when the zebra stripe was most popular. But then again, I would have said the Caltrain one was '90's, but that would be incorrect.

But VIA uses CN's tracks so there is a small possibility there could be some passenger service we will have to wait and see.

It won't. It's gonna be freight only.

I agree. Most of the teasers DTG has shown for Passenger/freight routes focuses entirely on passenger, then mentions freight in the sidebar.

You're probably correct as Matt had indicated that the next route was going to be more freight based.

The announcement is typically the day after the teaser and is typically posted at 11am est.

Time to start speculating on the next route, which would most probably be German.

My money is on Düsseldorf Hbf to Duisburg Hbf.
Experience the hustle and bustle of this very busy high-speed line in exquisitely detailed ICE3 high-speed train or experience the daily commute in DB BR 143 with 4th generation Doppelstockwagen and DABpbzfa 767.2 cab car along the stunning and scenic long-distance route of 24 kilometers.

I predict the next UK route will be 1980s Kings Cross to St Pancras - there isn't a rail link though so you'll just have to walk - £24.99

I think he was talking about Cael's "Düsseldorf Hbf to Duisburg Hbf" quip, not the new route. ;)

    I'm not crazy, I'm peculiar!

But seriously, it's a poke at the current trend where routes get more and more detailed, but also shorter and shorter.

Next UK route will be Liverpool Street to Norwich, I guess but the rolling stock on that line is absolute rubbish - Class 313, 317

Aren't we due another German route first? Hopefully it'll be somewhere else in Europe, nice and scenic with high bridges, swooping valleys and maybe not another DB!

Next UK route after that will be DTGs attempt to silence the critics so will be my full suggested Birmingham New Street to Bristol with splits to Worcester and Redditch; local stopping services, high speed services, freight services and a steam train. Boom! :)

I wish but if we get a route that long I would be amazed. Even their TS1 route only went to Ipswich.

If it was set in 1990 with an 86, 47, 310/312, 317 and maybe a 101 for good measure, it would be far from rubbish.

Granted yes; but in todays operations the operators aren’t looking after those old girls at all.

London to Ipswich was a lot better than just Reading and Eastbourne. I hope for more UK routes, doesn’t it mean less expense sending the team hither and thither to places far and wide. For now I’ve dodged the baby bullet  and the canadian route keeping my eye open for the UK material

Completely unrelated, but somebody was making that for Train Simulator and was advertising it as if it was significant. I shouldn't have laughed at that, but I did.

There was a freeware version in development which never saw the light of day. It was set in the steam period where there were two separate lines, the passenger line and a goods line which went further down a steep gradient into a fair sized goods yard which had sidings off to various industries, it would have been an interesting route.

The only interesting thing about the line now is the class 139 which people travel from all over to travel on, although frankly I think the class 139 is quite awful!

London Underground Victoria Line, Kings Cross to Highbury. should be manageable, its around 0.9 miles or 120 seconds of content. It should push them right to their limits.

EDIT: forgot about the ATO - so even more content, you only have to open the doors once.

Naydog nah Kings Cross to Highbury is a two hour drive; Covent Garden to Piccadilly Circus. Or Ealing Common Depot to Acton Town.

In all fairness it’ll Waterloo to Vauxhall

Njt or another Amtrak Route would be nice like I think it would be cool to see them do Connecticut to Massachusetts or New Jersey to Pennsylvania.

I just had to Google that. I really hope they're not wasting resources bringing that to TSW! :D

    Class139.png

Looking at the release timetable, I guess we're heading for another German, or at least, mainland Europe route next. Would be nice to see something a bit different from another country, even if the trains/systems/signalling is the same. I know a few people have suggested routes from Austria, Switzerland etc. If it is German, then the ICE trains are requested a lot and would make a nice change from DB red!

Traditionally it's been a minimum of six months before a route has received a loco add-on, so not holding my breath for anything Canadian for a while (unless they want to do something to improve the perceived value of the new OSD route), but LIRR is crying out for another train and is the only one of the older routes other than GWE with no add-on, since the German routes all share their pool of locos (but could still do with a diesel).

That's a cool chart. Notice that the last 4 routes have released every other month, whereas prior to PC there was often more time in between. Could explain some of the QA issues as of late, maybe?

This will be a "smart" choice: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GE_Genesis

Clever because we'll can use Genesis locomotive/s in several North American route, like Via Rail in OSD (diesel version) and Amtrak/Metro-North Railway in NY NEC and LIRR (third rail/electric version). And especially LIRR (and OSD) need new traffic to looks complete.

German routes need of an InterCity train/service like DB 101 or/and the historical DB 103
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DB_Class_101
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DB_Class_103
And it will be also a new way to use our DB 182 (I got the addon).

About UK routes I dont see any priority/leak, but I would like to see a modern IET service like for example the new BR Class 800.
