What do you think Dovetail will revealed on their live stream. i have a hunch that it will be the next installment of TSW. Does anyone remember the last year winter 2025 survey question, cause i think it will have some thing to do with our answer to those question. Did anyone took a photo of picture of the all the question that was on the survey? If anyone did please post the survey picture here so that we can a idea of whats feature and stuff might be coming on that day. Hmmm i wonder what route will be the core please DTG do not include tadami line as one of the base route, for the next installment, that won't be fair to the community. Does anyone have a idea what these route might be? It have to be the same one US Route, one Britan Route, and One German Route or they might switch it up.
TSW7 will be confirmed. Three new DTG routes announced. New features announced that when released won't work properly and will take the rest of 2026 and a good chunk of 2027 to just get into a barely workable state. New routes announced by Third Parties. Updates about Tadami. A remaster or two for older routes. Pretty much what happens every year.
Exactly and i guess they will reduce a lot of stuff to prevent issues on console. Maybe they will skip the new features. They have very few space to use RAM better they spend no extra RAM at all.
I honestly don't know what to think about this on one hand, if they release tadami for TSW7, DTG won't see my money on the deluxe pack this year (unless the US content turns out to be really good) on the other hand, tadami steam page still exists, so it's not out of the question that they might release it for TSW6 before the TSW7 release day
Colour me cynical, but assuming it follows suit and is TSW7… A couple of “feature” updates that will add very little to the game and probably not work properly. However the stuff which matters like more save game slots, passenger behaviour and optimisation will be kicked down the road again. Three so, so routes - I’m guessing after last years Devon route we will be back in electrified urban territory for the UK, modern trains easy to drive and next to no sound in the cab. Germany will be the same old double track electrified 60km interurban with the sea of DB Red everywhere. US will be another commuter dirge around New York or Boston. This year the Deluxe pack will likely be upwards of £70 and presage an across the board price rise of 15 or 20% on DLC. We will get a few glimpses of what might be coming as once again the DTG management swoon and coo over a few screenshots from the editor or 3D modelling programme without any proof of concept or completion beyond that (there may be honourable exceptions like Firefly or AABS). Away from TSW, well the Sodor fans will hopefully get something to enhance their standalone route. TSC will be ignored. All presented with the usual high fives and hyperbolic nonsense, to actually produce very little of substance. TBH at this point I’m more excited about the SimRail route extension releasing tomorrow, than the Dovetail Direct. Or getting Stainmore Summit working again with its patch in TSC. I could be wrong of course…
Tadami Line is a third-party route, it won't be part of a DTG set of 'core routes'. As previously mentioned, there's already a long thread speculating on this subject: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/so-what-routes-will-we-get-in-tsw7.98026/unread
I'm afraid you're right. This year optimization is my personal top priority. If the direct doesn't promise improved optimization, I'm not interested in TSW7, no matter what features or routes it'll feature. The stutttttering has come to a point where it ruins my joy when playing the game.
I settle for a game that does not CTD every chance it gets. Along with no blurry textures. And just maybe jobs/scenarios where you dont get spad right at the beginning. And scenarios where you can complete them. And not get stuck half through. But we know they dont care about all that they just our money for tsw7 when it comes.
I also put optimization first before anything. Do you guys remember what you put as number 1. Thats why i was hoping one of you might have the survey and the community can look at it and see what they remember putting as their answer
Announcing that DTG were about to be taken over by Frontier would suit me just fine. Two more big updates/DLC announced by those guys this week for Planet Coaster 2. Unlike each addition for TSW, these actually enhance the game and are proof that Frontier listen to the audience. For me it feels recently like DTG just pump out release, after release, without listening to anybody apart from their accountants.
Yeah, I'm trying to think, of all the new "features" that they've included with each yearly release, what features actually work properly? I can't think of even one!
The only DLC that doesn't get blurred is what you don't buy. Maybe a new motto for TSW7 on consoles? At the end of the day, the motto of expect the unexpected was confirmed 110% in TSW6
Well, it's certainly fun seeing how many comments into a new thread we get to before the moaning about DTG and/or other developers takes over. Well done, we're still on page one. We've surpassed ourselves this time. I'm tempted to start a thread entitled "Rank your top ten biscuits" just to see the skill and mastery as someone turns it into a "Why I hate DTG" conversation. Perhaps via some sort of comment about there being no biscuits to rank because x developer always takes the biscuit. I'll leave the mental gymnastics to someone more competent though. I often recite the story of the woman who was really disrespectful to counter staff at a coffee shop in Liverpool Street station. After she'd done speaking to the staff like a spoiled brat she turned to me and said "They always get my order wrong". To which my response was "Why don't you go somewhere else then?"
They are going to reveal a TSW7 extended look, exclusive to Netflix. Netflix subs are going to explode that week...
For the US route, I would really like to see the Hudson line, or possibly an NJT route featuring the NJT Comet IV/V single level coaches. If we get a route remaster, something tells me it may be either Clinchfield or Harlem Line
That would be nice but there is a change that there will be no US route at all... Brandon or "CactusJuice" have stop to do work for DTG so maybe there is no good repclacement.....
Really hope Cactusjuice makes a return soon. As far as I know, his knowledge on US signalling is the best
The UK route I'm pretty open minded too... Aslong as it isn't a further extension of the WCML (not against it fully, but it certainly needs a break. Only Milton Keynes to Birmingham or Carlisle to Glasgow are outstanding). For the US I'm hoping an area of one of the new Brightline routes, which would give quite a nice US InterCity route that isn't Amtrak.
Shame, some other "less-relevant" game took our Netflix slot for the Direct to appear on it this year. We were in the final process of signing the papers too!
Hi Alex, any update on the reinstatement of removed Class 86 and Class 87 content from the West Coast Main Line: Birmingham - Crewe route yet?
With two minutes of adverts every five minutes unless you pay even more! It ruined the Fallout series, though luckily it turned up on Blu-ray to watch without interruptions.
I'm currently going back and forth on Medway Valley, NY-Stamford and now Nürnberg Ingolstadt. What a great trio that would have been as base routes for a new version of the game I know, two of those are third party, but it is a US-UK-DE combo. I just hope the base routes for TSW7 7 can come near that combo.
Don't get me wrong, Medway is great, but it's quiet timetable wise, has limited traction (Electrosilents) and isn't really complex ie changing from fasts to stopping services. But the detail and the overall feel of the route is quite simply stunning, and has massively raised the bar
T minus 11 days until the Dovetail Direct . Can't wait to have some popcorn/soda and enjoy hearing about the upcoming projects. I don't think I will be able to make it in time to ask questions during the livestream but hopefully there will be a thread here on the forums where we can also ask questions that can be answered during the livestream
The livestream isn't actually live, it's pre-recorded. But yes so excited, trying not to listen to the (in my opinion) constant slating and nitpicking of it.
I really dont expect anything great. A load of bundle referencing and creators club style stuff. Those of us wanting to drive an expert pair of 37s on a 16 coach Sleeper through the Highlands or a spluttering type 2 over ravens rock will probably end up waiting for The Chat Moss 2026 route in the sale and pondering what clinical one handed machine will be next in the queue....
Well since you went there, the "Chocolate Hobnob" has to be the best biscuit ever created, on the other hand a "Rich Tea" is by far the worst and no doubt was somehow developed by DTG. Sorted, next argument please... As for DTG Direct, well I believe there is something about Thomas on there so no doubt they will big that up with lots of clapping and backslapping but as for TSW? Well, they will probably tell us what is on the roadmap that won't be making it into TSW6 and then announcing TSW7 which is to be expected, as for the routes and rolling stock? That's a tough one, I think they'd do the same as last year (and the year before to be fair) with a route with one train and a separate train as the premium DLC (which to be fair I don't agree with, I still think it was a disgrace that the Pendolino was not "core" for the WCML, the Voyager however was less so, given yes they were on the Rivera but were not a major requirement). I think if they decided to include Tadami as one of the 3 base routes it might cause quite a bit of uproar but we know how DTG seem to be unable to "read the room", yes it's a 3rd party route but a contract could easily be signed to bring it over. While I don't really have interest in non-UK routes (I did try the NL route but after a few runs just still don't enjoy it) I have given some of the US ones a go, I just hope they go for something better than another New York commuter/MTA route. I said months back that the Chicago "El" would be great (and no doubt a low spec PC and console killer) but the CTA are not very keen on giving out licenses. oh and before I go, where do we stand on Bourbons vs Custard Creams?
Bourbons, always. Good call with the chocolate Hob-Nob too. Superb for dunking in a coffee. I find myself agreeing on the Dutch route. I like hills and rolling countryside like you find in the UK and France. I want France to be the next random country, Limoges to Toulouse if possible. A pack of chocolate Hob-Nobs to everyone involved in the development of a French or Essex-based route. Not that I'm trying bribe anyone, but just imagine that, a whole packet of biscuits for 6 months' hard work. Biscuits with chocolate on them too.
