No, the rolling stock coming with this route is standard level.

Only if you already own the expert 101, the München-Nürnberg-Express will also have the expert features.

You can always deactivate expert mode in your settings.

Please excuse me if this has already been asked before. The Allersberg Express formation in the DLC seems to be the BR 111 with N-Wagen and a cab car.

If I understand it correctly, during the time period the DLC is simulating, the Allersberg Express was operated with two BR 101s and Münex coaches. So everything needed for the correct Allersberg Express formation is already included in the DLC.

Is there any reason why we don't get the correct formation for the route?

I don't believe that's the case. I'm nearly sure it was this formation.

    See german Wikipedia Page: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allersberg-Express

    Translated to english:
"From 2006 until December 2013, the trains consisted of an electric locomotive of DB Class 111 and three modernised n-coaches (type Bnrdz, class 451.9), including a driving trailer (type Bnrbdzf, class 480.3). When services first commenced, two Class 112 locomotives were used in a top-and-tail formation. The trains offered 240 seats, all in second class, as well as space for 34 bicycles.

The final service of the day was operated using a six-coach München–Nürnberg Express set, with a scheduled maximum speed of 160 km/h.

From 15 December 2013, the trains operated with Bpmz IC coaches and Bpmbdzf cab cars from the München–Nürnberg Express, which were painted in traffic red.

From July 2014, the cab car was replaced by a DB Class 101 locomotive, resulting in the following train formation:

    101 + Bpmz + Bpmz + Bpmz + 101
    "

It seems like the english wiki page has not been updated for a while or does not contain that much detailed information.

No, these aren’t fully-fledged expert locomotives!
The ICE 3 simply has a few new features that lean towards expert locomotives, but in the case of the ICE 3, these might account for just 5 to 10 per cent of its expert locomotive features.
And it’s exactly the same with the other locomotives and control carriages, because otherwise none of the locomotives would have been upgraded.

And as far as I know, the expert-like features only come on if you have train faults enabled.

The 403 faults only appear when Expert mode is enabled in the options. At least that's what I understood from yesterdays Matin_TSP Stream.

Also, to be fair, when driving timetable services (passenger services), expert locos behave mostly like any other loco barring sending PZB data and an eventual fault

And "EXPERT" train, unless you are fluent in reading german, you can not use them, they are german users only

not really... as far as I know, both come with quite extensive manuals with translations of all faults and necessary stuff (101 has a book-sized manual, havent checked 145)

Not true at all. I play the expert 101 and 145 all the time, and I know only a few words of german- though TSW has actually helped me learn a little.

Like was mentioned, the manual is completely in English, and there's even a softkey on the MFD that translates into English as well.

I think it's very accessible tbh.

So every few second you have to pause the game, try to look up what was written as fault or action to do, to find the translation in a book
Not my definition of none german speaking friendly

The new BR 145 Expert has a button to translate everything to english. I'm hoping TSG will get the time to port that to the BR 101 Expert at some point. Just to set the expectations right, they did not promise to do it or anything of the kind. It is just what I would like to happen.

"Expert" train at the end of the day cost twice as much for 10 times less enjoyment and use

The expert locomotive is the best in the game. Driving the expert locomotive is really fun and the other part I enjoy is learning all the systems of these locomotives.

As multiple Users already pointed out: The MTD and all malfunction texts are translated to english ingame with a press of a softkey on the 145 Expert and both trains having an english manual. Would really like that you stop spreading fake facts. :)

Today, the language barrier is not such a big problem. I use Google Translate to communicate on this forum. I am trying to learn English. Today, it is possible for Google Translate to translate the entire manual into your native language. If you don't understand something, you can ask Gemini or another AI. There is also an excellent community of TSW players on the forums, they will also be happy to advise you. You just need to start learning. For me, it is a lot of fun to study these expert locomotives.

Google translate, or any other translation program are not doing proper translation, maybe in 100 years from now, but right now they are only translating word for word, as for AI I do not use them
so unless those "expert" train come with english instead of german, they are not enjoyable
maybe the exception would be the 145, since there seems to be an incorporated translattor
on all the german trains, you get message about "fish frozen behnd the fetish", "sprang spring strong", all those mean gibbrish

I use Google Lense for the 101 Expert translations. Of course the translation is not perfect, but usually good enough that I understand what is going on and how to fix it.

Would it be much better if TSG translates the console as they did with the 145? Sure.
Can I do OK with what I got for now? Its somewhat unconfortable but yes, I can.

It is possible to turn off fault simulation. Without it you don't need to speek german for playing with DB 101.

It loses quite a lot of the fun if you turn off errors, but you still keep other stuff like the GSM-R, ZDE, the cab car, fog in the windows, virtual conductor, etc ...

BTW, fun for me is to get the locomotive moving, and then run the assign run, when I want to torture myself I use the PCB and SIFA

ERTMS or Official ETCS, ERTMS is wat build on the tracks in the 101 or Cabcar.... Funny but impossible... This future in the 101 and cabcar is missing... You mean PZB/LZB i guess :)

    To clarify...
ERTMS = is the equipment on the tracks
ETCS = is the build in module and technical side on the train

Actually I wanted to say GSM-R. Not sure why I wrote the wrong word.
    Corrected.

All the explanation you have given about what is ERTMS and ETCS is wrong, btw.

If I’m missing something then fair enough but I think the safety systems are bugged in the 403.

At first I thought it was the key bindings but they’re (otherwise thankfully) defaulted to on. All switches are on and they are indeed operational but the score system doesn’t reward it. Also, I tried to complete the first scenario and following an inexplicable emergency stop towards the end, when I tried to get going again, my train derailed.

I’m on PC. Hopefully I’m just missing something. The route itself is fantastic and although I’ve only managed one run, the frame rate is stable and higher than other recent releases too

EDIT : the scoring system works once you turn Afb on. If this means that systems are mandatory on this route then hallelujah! Long overdue for none MTA content

I totally disagree. Both the BR101 and 145 are my go to when I want to run on a German route. It doesn’t take long to pick up a few of the German phrases esp ially to see if the fault requires immediate attention, or you can continue to the next station. If it requires immediate attention, you have to stop byway, so looking up the fault in the manual isn’t that big of a problem… An alternative is to use Google in camera mode on your phone and it will translate on the fly.

Might not be your cup of tea, but for me, the expert locomotives are definitely worth the price and provide me an abundance of enjoyment.

Each to their own, but the additional challenges of the faults and learning how to respond, for me is fun… but there are times I just want to drive from A to B and choose non-expert locos

This is total BS! I use translators in my travels all the time and they are quite accurate.

It is obvious you don’t like Expert Locomotives… Fine, so do not get one, by why do you insist on arguing with everyone who states how they can get around the language barriers and find them enjoyable. Google Translate has been very accurate when using the camera option I mentioned above.

And, these locos are very well crafted by TSG. In operation, in appearance and sounds. They are a joy to drive, even without expert features. I mostly play in expert mode with fault simulation off.

So ‘Sifa’ certainly doesn’t mean the game is over.
If you can’t manage something as simple as ‘Sifa’, then you should stop driving on German routes.
‘Sifa’ really is the simplest thing there is.

That's a little bit harsh, no need for the nasty comment. Sifa is simple for you, doesn't mean it is for everyone. Sometimes you are occupied with something else while SIFA is on, and he may possibly not know how to recover from a " Spring Sprang Sprong" (Zwansbremsung).
