You can set it in the menu, or CTRL +F2 on keyboard.

Try it at speed, look at the track in front of you.

Makes everything look like something is not quite right. It's implementation
Makes everything blurry to simulate motion. (Well supposedly). In reality, it makes games look worse and can give you motion sickness

That's the problem. A 16GB graphics card consumes about 14GB of VRAM. You only have 8GB, which is not enough. It's 2026, and video cards with 8GB of VRAM can hardly be called gaming cards.

Braking is still bad on the 47 and 20 when pulling wagons it takes ages to stop.

Your theory with this issue would hold water if it weren't for a couple of things I've already given......

It isn't every time at the said locations it is maybe once every twenty times in timetable mode and maybe 75% of times in Scenarios. (So not every time at the same locations). Also, again as mentioned, saving and then straight away loading the save reverts fps back to 60 fps (what I've capped it at) at that exact same location.

According to Steam the minimum requirements are 2GB of VRAM and the recommended is 8GB, so why would there be a problem?

Because there exists a group of…people, who think that if you don’t have the absolute top end of hardware, then it’s your fault a game doesn’t run well.

What does monitoring of the same Steam or MSI AF show? Perhaps with specific resource consumption figures the reason will be clearer than crystal ball divination.
Is there a minimum FPS that I should get written there?
    Unfortunately, I only have a mid-range system.

Your implication was that you needed 16GB of VRAM to run TSW, which excludes all but a handful of NVIDIA cards and leaves AMD cards.

It’s a preposterous line of logic & completely sweeps aside the most simple & likely answer, which is perhaps the route has some performance issues.

The same as the NVidia figures i've already given in the screenshots that there is a sudden spike in GPU resources that does not clear as usual after a second or two and stays until the game is saved, exited to main menu then reloaded at which point GPU resources return to normal levels and framerates return to the normal capped 60fps.

What on earth you keep going on about it not being a top end card for I do not know as if you'd actually looked at the post you'd have seen it explained it is not a constant issue but one that will randomly occur at locations (So therefore not an issue with the card being underpowered) and would also have seen the GPU usage etc during and after the issue that you asked for already shown in the screen shots.

Maybe keep off the Vodka in future. ;)

Maybe there is, maybe not. I don't see a problem with mine, or I don't remember it specifically in this place.
Your monitoring shows just nonsense instead of really important data. What will it show in terms of VRAM usage, GPU frequency? Well,Well, it shows that the video card is loaded at 99%, while its TDP is lower than in the second screenshot with a lower load. Provide all possible data, it will be much easier for developers to find the problem.

If the developer wants the VRAM usage or any other data not already given I will provide them with it. (Yet again GPU frequency is already in the images provided). Now if you've finished just clogging up a feedback thread for the sake of it and being of no help at all i've got trains to drive.

Any news from Just Trains about when we're going to get the 31s, 37s, 40s and 45s back on this route and on the Blackpool Branches new timetable? I'm enjoying the route but I'm looking forward to seeing a bit more variety like the Carlisle route had.

Luckily on PC it's done via mod and I must admit it is nice to see a grimy 31 on a rake of vacuum fitted mineral wagons plodding slowly through Warrington Bank Quay. :)

Performance, I guess? Hopefully after other optimisation they can come back, it would be nice to see more variety on passenger and freight.

Not sure but i think someone from JT did say why either in this thread or the route's discussion thread.

Also gives a bit more variety at Wigan and Crewe depots.

With Blackpool and Preston - Carlisle with the way we did substitutions we found that it spawned things like 31's and 45's too much as their subbing values were set incredibly high, to resolve this we made small patches for the 31 and 45 with new RVD's that have lower subbing values on them but said patches have not been released as of yet.

JT Benedict is anyone able to answer the question I've been asking for ages?

When trying to write a scenario involving Preston (on any of your routes) there's never any loading time at the start of the scenario. Why is this and can it be fixed, please?

Was hoping it would be an easy fix but when I put them back in it broke things so need to have some time to troubleshoot which I have yet to have.

Not sure if this is something that has been raised but I've found some initial Livery Designer issues with the 47/3.

The HI headlights do not get covered by layers from either the sides or the loco ends as can be seen in the first two images but instead remain the same as the paint colour.

Totally by accident though I found that if you place the layer centrally on the loco roof the HI headlights are then both covered as can be seen in the third and fourth images. Using projection settings i think I can still manage to colour the headlights then cover over the yellow patch on the roof as the projection settings don't seem to work as you would expect.

I've seen mention on FB of a similar issue with the nose ends of the 86/4 model in LD but not with the headlight but not sure of the exact details.

Anyhow is this something that can be looked at/rectified going forwards as it's a shame to have LD issues on a pair of such great detailed models.

A little update on the LD 47/3 headlight issue....... I have inadvertently found how to colour it. I was in the process of adding a flat stretched semi-circle shape to fill the cab ends above the windows and below the cab roof as seen in this pic and even though the shape is high up on the cab front it has also coloured the headlight. The shape projection settings for the semi-circle were both set to 100% and it has coloured the headlight at both ends.

I'm not up on how LD works but obviously still something amiss but something that can be worked around in the meantime using this method.

Thanks Benedict, I appreciate the update. If adding the arrival times back in doesn’t prove possible, please could JT release a document showing the scheduled arrival time of each train or (better still) add it to the in-game description of each schedule (e.g. “drive this express passenger train from Crewe to Preston calling at y and z, with arrival at Preston due at xx:xx”)

Obviously getting the full schedule back in would be ideal, but if that’s not possible the above suggestions sound like reasonable work-arounds.

    Platform Xbox series s

Firstly this route is fantastic I love all the industrial branch lines and the fact we can take coal from source to to it's destination.

Annoyingly despite it's shorter length, I have still been unable to complete a full route run from Crewe to Preston. Either the game cannot load Crewe and crashes in a loading screen or it crashes after Warrington or Wigan.

The intention is for times to be put back in so no need to worry.

The only reason it didn't make its way into the update was because it was causing simulations to fail which would need more looking into.

Any chance of at least an acknowledgement JT Benedict or even JT Thomas ?

I'm desperate to write scenarios involving Preston but this is preventing me from doing so.

Controversial opinion: Not sure what it is about this forum, but many seem to act like developers fixing stuff is like someone doing them a favour, when the reality is this should have been sorted before release. The sycophancy is off the charts sometimes. It's all "Thanks, Benedict", "Thanks, Matt", "Please, Benedict", "Please, Matt". When really, Benedict and Matt should have done their job in the first place before taking my money and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Think the timings you've posted things have just ended up being swamped by other things, I'll make a note of it so we can look into it.

Just a question btw, does this affect all our routes or just Crewe - Preston?

Preston is affected on all your routes. It also seems to be the only station on the Crewe - Preston route as I'm in midst of writing scenarios involved different stations and no issues with any others so far.
Carlisle as well on over Shap - I can't speak for the intermediate stations as the acts I wanted to do started/ended at either Preston or Carlisle.

Yes, just went to play a scenario that I wrote beginning at Blackpool on BPB and it's the same, straight into service, no loading time.

EDIT: It does work at Crewe though for this route, so whatever you got wrong with previous stations, this one is fine.

Is the Crewe Speedway mastery reward only visible at certain times? Doesn't matter if I have it enabled or disabled all I get is this?

Can you please a bug for the glaringly bright Miley Tunnel in this route. Not sure if it’s a light baking issue and I’m also less sure how it wasn’t addressed pre release as it’s an obvious issue.

Also 6P81 Deepdale CCD to Arpley Extension Sidings Part 1 doesn’t recognise when you’re on the first stop marker.

    Thanks

That includes JT with this route. Currently performance is unacceptable on a PS5 with choppy graphics, frame freezes and excessive stuttering. Instead of ensuring that the route runs well on a platform they are selling it on, JT have invested (wasted) their time and resources creating large areas that you can explore on foot. I was shocked to find these huge areas around Warrington that you can walk around on yet driving a train through the same area is an unbearable stuttering mess.

Why use up resources on a feature that people will probably only use ONCE if at all? Get your priorities right and deliver a product that properly simulates train driving and leave the laughable sight seeing to Google maps.

Absolutely agree. I pay my money for a product to work as expected and in a train simulator that means smoothly displaying the world whilst moving and it not seeming like I am suffering a series of mini strokes and seizures because of the awful freezing and stuttering performance problems.

I expected this route to be acceptable when I handed over £30. It was not. I now demand that it is patched to improve performance as quickly as possible. Whilst I will be pleased if things are sorted out I will NOT thank anyone for putting right their own shortcomings and failures as it should never have happened in the first place.

The only walkable area is by the track at Warrington which links the station to the sidings and to do so we didn't add in any extra detail compared to what we needed to anyway.

Whilst we understand there is still some performance issues that we want to rectify around busier areas of the route I still don't understand how you are having such bad performance issues considering most PS5 players are happy with the product.

It is the worst performing route on my TSW installation. There are reviews on YouTube that point out the performance issues and various posts on this forum too. It is an enigma how you are clearly unable to see what is obviously visibly on the video reviews and clearly stated in the commentaries. Whilst JT concentrated on fixing the blurred textures the overall running performance has been neglected.

This is the ONLY route that I have unacceptable performance issues with. All other routes run really well including your two other TSW routes. Most telling is the wonderful silky smooth graphics of the Milton Keynes to Crewe route with gorgeous scenery and 108 miles of track.

Perhaps you should just stop gaslighting me to deny the obvious failings of this poor quality product and contact the makers of Milton Keynes to Crewe or the wonderful Medway Valley lines to learn how to make beautifully complex detailed routes that run flawlessly.

Whilst you are at it you may also want to brush up on your customer care skills as they are clearly lacking.

Out of interest, is anything actually being done to address performance issues of are you just going to deny them, sweep it under the carpet and move on? Either way I will NEVER buy another product from Just Trains.

I’d like to add here what I’ve posted in the route discussion thread as it may be pertinent to the last few comments about performance.

On PC we were lucky enough to have a 2026 timetable mod released yesterday.

I made a run from Preston to Crewe driving a Pendolino and made a note of frame rates at Wigan, Warrington/Arpley and Crewe.

When running the normal 80s timetable I get a small/short drop in fps around Wigan, a large/long drop in fps around Warrington/Arpley and again large-ish drop around Crewe.

During the run in the 2026 timetable I had virtually no drop/blip around Wigan (Although there wasn’t as much static traffic around there) but around Warrington/Arpley the yards were both pretty much full as they are in the 80s timetable but instead of mainly HAAs and HEAs it was with HOA/HKA hoppers, FKA/FCA wagons, BBAs and MFAs. The difference was massive though as now my fps never dropped below 55fps!!!!!
Also at Crewe the fps stayed up in the 50s again with stock in the yards similar to at Warrington.

Could one of the main performance issues be with the HAAs and possibly the new HEAs? As this world also tie in with the times one posted on here regarding massive and prolonged fps drops when AI MGR trains appear on the scene?

These are the screens showing the full yards at Warrington with the 2026 timetable.

Noticed you posted about this yesterday and have actually noticed a couple of things with the HAA and HEA that can be improved performance wise so thank you for creating a synopsis of this.

Whilst I don't think it's the only issue it's one more step to getting things in a better place for everyone.
