There’s mostly likely at least 6 weeks between the Direct and TSW7 so plenty of time for more roadmap stuff to drop.

I think the last release for the TSW6 will actually be tadami line

see the union workshop statement and add to that the fact that they didn't even publish rftv schedule yesterday; they'll probably publish it on monday
also, tadami page on steam still up

as for the class 70 and the mildmay extension, those will be TSW7 releases for sure

I know off topic talking about the roadmap, but I think forum members would do well to remember the roadmap “rules”.

They’ve stuck with me since it first came about when mentioned by Sam, in one the initial TSW2 streams and they’ve never caused me any bother or confusion about what to expect, there always seems to be some drama involving the roadmap on here. The monthly question of when is the roadmap is coming, always makes me roll my eyes. Do we need a roadmap for the roadmap?

To paraphrase one of the initial roadmap streams when the roadmap had a slightly different setup, DLC can move up and down the roadmap or stay constant for a period of time and if a DLC (such as Class 104) disappears off the roadmap it just means that it’s not actively being worked on.

Sorry, my reply might have sounded a bit irritated, but what’s the point when the same thing gets written five times? I should have expressed that differently. Sorry about that but it is true that several people responded before you, so I got a bit annoyed. You wouldn’t enjoy it either if six or seven people gave the exact same answer… You already understand it after two replies.

No, it's just true. Dev Cycles are never guaranteed and because a developer says "it will release in this timeframe" doesn't mean it will.
For one moment, please, take the tinfoil hat off. It isn't that deep.

Yeah, maybe you’re right but then what’s left of it? You end up with a roadmap that you can’t really do anything with. In that case, it’s better to just stop with it, right? You’ve got a “0–3 months” section that isn’t actually 0–3 months at all; there are addons sitting there for 0–3 years. I find that really unclear. But well, DTG and clear communication have never exactly been a happy marriage.

"0-3 months" is an estimate. Its there to give us a rough idea of when routes will come out.

Would you rather they didn't delay stuff, and instead released even worse products so the roadmap remains correct?
Or would you rather the roadmap didn't exist so we don't have even the slightest idea of how long we have to wait?

    This is such a non-issue.

It’s quite simple: I don’t really need the roadmap if it doesn’t contribute to better quality. To me, the roadmap feels unnecessary, because its actual value is limited it’s not very reliable. I would prefer a well‑functioning product over all the commercial marketing around it. And unfortunately, it often happens that something doesn’t get released at all, as we saw with the BR420.If they still want to provide information, I understand that some users appreciate an update once per quarter or once every six months about upcoming addons but without promises like “0–3 months” followed by “this may change,” which doesn’t add anything. A monthly roadmap usually ends up repeating the same content.

And this is my opinion you asked for it, so that doesn’t mean others have to agree. It’s simply my own view on the matter.

Roadmaps are double-edged. They exist first and foremost as a marketing tool for DTG to show off upcoming content to keep TSW relevant and customers "hooked" (don't necessarily mean it in a negative or cynical way, just business doing business) but they do sometimes contribute to a level of expectation that can easily lead to customers being disappointed by stuff not being released as soon as implied or content not living up to expectations.

I enjoy roadmaps as a way of having something to look forward to but usually more than half of them won't have much new (usually from March to August), so I do recognise they aren't necessary and will always paint a too-optimistic picture.

I doubt though doing these monthly or quarterly does actually impact quality, except maybe in a very indirect way.
